However, several items were not done or were only halfway done. The apartment was completely empty when she arrived, so there were no obstacles to a thorough cleaning. She sent photos of the stove and bathtub, but after moving in, I found: * Debris and bugs along the baseboards, showing the floors weren't properly vacuumed. * Mold in the shower, which should have been noticed with a proper cleaning. * Dusting wasn't completed, even though dusting high and low was on the checklist. She said she wouldn't dust because she was injured and didn't want her team member to handle it. If she wasn't able to complete the service fully, she should have rescheduled rather than charging full price. When I requested a partial refund, she declined, saying she had to wait an hour before entry and another 30 minutes afterward. With the time lost, was that the punishment for not properly cleaning my home? She did offer to come back for a retouch, but at this point, I did not want her energy in my home again. If she would have cleaned correctly the first time, there wouldn't be a need to come back for a retouch. Her response to my complaint came at 1:52 am, which felt unprofessional, and she took no accountability. Though she was highly recommended by a friend, I was highly disappointed. I work in property insurance, so this is a standard precaution I recommend to my own clients. I actually hired them in 2020 for a cleaning and it went fine, which is why I reached out again. This time, the company told me they had never been asked for a COI by a client before, and shortly after, they cancelled my appointment, saying they felt I was "setting them up." I was surprised by this reaction, as reputable service providers typically have liability insurance and can provide proof without issue. Because they refused to provide a COI and cancelled my booking, I cannot speak to the quality of their current work. However, I would caution other homeowners that if you want to ensure a vendor is insured, this may not be the right company for you.
