New Taxi on the road
Quite simply the best of the best!…read more Normally I'd feel quite uncomfortable in taxis (as a young female travelling alone ... we've all heard the stories) but for the past while Abbey Taxi have been using their brilliant text services to let you know the car has been dispatched to your address, that they're outside to pick you up and also what the make / colour and reg plate of the car is. It is just so helpful and REASSURING. It's handy enough the text service as it means there's less chance you miss your cab, but as I mentioned, if I feel uneasy all I have to do is let someone know how I'm getting home and voila I'm pretty safe as far as the taxi's concerned. I've had issues with taxi drivers before from other companies, but every single driver I've ever been picked up from Abbey will either banter away with you if you're in the mood or know quite rightly when you're not in the mood for chat. The company recently merged with Phone-A-Taxi so they've got many more drivers for your convenience. They've also recently moved to meters, I moaned about this for a while, until I realised that 9/10s of the time my fare has ended up at least a few quid cheaper. (This tip nearly always goes back to lucky taxi man!) Also, I've seen adverts 'Pay your taxi by credit card' which is just another great inventions! (I've haven't used this service yet, when I do I'll re-review) and I've just been on their new look website where soon you'll be able to book taxis online, handy for those 'phone phobics' among us (You know who you are!) In conclusion, all this makes me feel Abbey Taxi are without a doubt the number one cab company in this area. They are so up and coming, never fail to impress! Just hope they keep it up.
I only recently began to use this taxi company. The recently bought over Carnmoney taxis which I…read morehad used before. What I really like about these taxis is that they don't have a meter, and therefore charge a little bit less than the other main taxi companies in the city. One such example of this is the journey from my house to the city centre. Abbey charges me almost £2 less than other taxi companies. Another great thing that they do is send you a text when you car is being dispatch, and upon its arrival they send you a text of the license plate number and the make, model and colour of the car. This is incredibly useful when waiting outside a club dying to find your taxi to take you home. It makes it so much easier

Coastal cabs is a five star taxi service that serves North Down and the Ards Peninsula. I can not…read morereally say a bad word about Coastal Cabs. They are good for tourists or people who are not from the area as they know all the nooks and crannies of the Ards Peninsula. Coastal Cabs will take you the scenic route or if you want to get somewhere quickly they will take you down those old country roads that still have grass growing in the middle. Te only thing to be careful with if you are calling Coastal cabs is that during the week they operate only until 12 midnight. The fares are great and they will always give you an honest price. You can almost guarantee good banter from the drivers, they are the eyes and ears of the local community and will tell you all the gossip/news before it hit's the papers. So if you want an entertaining ride call Coastal Cabs.

The location is convenient to downtown Portrush. Breakfast in the morning was freshly made, and always delicious. Fresh baked croissants with the steam coming out of them melt in your mouth. The highlight of the stay though was the warmth and hospitality of owners Rod and Kerry. They are absolute angels. We were a bit of a rowdy group, drinking and gambling until all hours and Rod & Kerry couldn't have been more supportive and accommodating. At one point, I asked Kerry if I could do a load of laundry and she told me to just leave my bag of dirty clothes outside my room. When I arrived back to the property after a day of golf, mt clothes were freshly cleaned, folded and organized on my bed. Such magnificent service and always with a loving smile. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

The house is in a central location to everything we wanted to do. Just a few miles from the rope bridge, Giant's Causeway and the Dark Hedges. There are few few small towns nearby in either direction with options for food and drink. One of my favorite things of staying here was having Bob's delicious breakfast. The food was great and the breakfast room was gorgeous. I would love to come back and stay here again, this house and the area were my favorite of my whole vacation.

Although I did find the Carrick -a-rede rope bridge and Dunluce Castle slightly more interesting The causeway is a nice stop for a midday meal particularly because they allow you to use your parking pass for a rebate on the restaurant bill. Just remember to bring your stub in. Ireland is not really known I think for its iced coffee drinks so probably steer clear of ordering an Iced latte. Not horrible, but not great. The food however, was pretty tasty. We got the Carmelized onion and goat cheese tart And the Pan seared Rockville farm chicken. Both were done well, and the price is paid. If you can eat in the back of the restaurant, it probably has slightly more character as the front has windows only looking out to the parking lot. Parking is free for guest of the hotel. Otherwise you pay 10 pounds.
