At check-in I was told I may have to pay for the whole visit because they had issues with my very well-known insurance company. Well, no. That's why I have insurance. Then I waited TWO hours to get my prescription that they said they sent to the pharmacy. They pharmacy never received it until I called urgent care multiple times. I went here to get a drug test done for a new job. I done the test on October 20th. Today is the 29th & I called Fastmed to get results because my employer could not get in touch with anyone to get my results. I waited on hold TWICE for 30-45 mins. I finally ended up getting my child ready and drove to their location only to find out from the receptionist that they had lost my drug test sample. The receptionist was very polite and helpful with helping me find out what was happening. She had told me they have the paper where I had done the test, but no clue where it went to afterwards. It very well could be the FedEx/UPS/etc that picks them up that lost it, but I am not able to start my job until this gets done. It's more aggravating than anything at this point. First and foremost, the business name is a misrepresentation of fact. They should have named themselves "Slow-med". Or better yet, "You have entered a vortex circling deathly close to the event horizon of a supermassive black hole where time ceases to exist as you know it". I was sent to this Flux in the space-time continuum by a potential employer to receive a drug screening. A simple urine screen that requires me to urinate in a cup and sign a piece of security tape. The whole process should have taken less than 10 minutes, though I alloted myself an hour just in case the waiting room was full. I was pleased to see when I arrived that I was the only person there. When I entered, the receptionist was on the phone, so I waited patiently for her to finish her important business call. After 15 minutes of standing at the counter, another employee approached me and asked me to have a seat until they were ready to check me in. Taking a seat, I pulled out my phone to peruse the interwebs. After ten more minutes, the front door opened and three more customers walk in and step up to the counter. Shortly thereafter, the receptionist ends her important business call with a quick "I love you" and proceeds to check in the three new customers. After they have been checked in, I approach the counter and notify the receptionist that I have been waiting to check in for almost a half an hour, at which point she hands me a form to fill out and asks me for my drivers license so she could make a copy for identification purposes. Less than a minute later I hand her my completed form, and am instructed to have a seat until they are ready to call me back. At which point I hit the event horizon. All three customers who came in after me were served, while another 2 hours pass. My bladder slowly expanded like a fat man at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Eventually I was called back, told to empty my pockets and pee in a cup up to a line drawn on with a sharpie roughly a half inch up the cup. After filling the cup, and raising the level of the toilet up to the point where it almost started to flush itself I was finished. Sign these two slips of safety tape and I'm done. While exiting the building I asked to speak to a manager in regards to my recent time-warp experience and was notified that they do not have a manager at the current point in time. Muttering under my breath, I returned to my home over an hour drive away only to realize they have retained possession of my drivers license. Needless to say, I will never return. If this had been a service I had paid for I would have left 30 minutes in and demanded a refund. However, being this was company-sponsored and I really wanted the job I had no choice but to circle the black hole mindlessly waiting to be ejected back into normal space-time. Always slow, front desk receptionist is fairly rude/blunt. They didn't even have a full degreed doctor on site two times i visited, only a physicians assistant. Definitely would not recommend and suggest you find a family doctor office. I just felt at the fastmed that they don't care as much for the patients that come in. read more

I went to FastMed in statesville on a Saturday with fever, sore throat, etc. that had been going on for days and I went in to see if I needed antibiotics to keep the rest of my family (to include my wife that is 9 months pregnant) from catching what I had. They took a throat swab and said results would take up to 2 days...Monday passed, no call... Tuesday, no call, so at 5:00pm I decide to call them and follow up, after being put on hold numerous times during my 15 minute wait, the receptionist gets back on the phone as says "we don't have 'em." Then just dead airspace, no apologies or explanations as to why it has now been over 4 full days and I still don't know what I have but will likely now simply get the rest of my family sick and then heal on my own as it may be a week before I find out at this point. Also, when I asked if they'll call me when they do get the results, or at least an email, the answer was "it depends on what it is, just call back in the morning". My adult daughter woke up with a 100degree fever, having been exposed at work to a co-worker with strep. I made a ZipPASS registered appointment online to speed her time at the clinic. When she arrived the receptionist took her license and insurance card. The receptionist wrongly advised that it would be $125 for the Dr. visit. Then while my daughter called me to check with me what to do, the receptionist did not honor my daughter's position in the queue. After deciding to go ahead with the appt to have her seen, she had to wait :45 to see the Dr. The receptionist was rude, uncaring and repeatedly referred to my 22 year old as "darling." She was very unprofessional and not at all caring. Then, after finally seeing the PA, and it was determined that all she had was a viral infection (not strep or bacterial), she was prescribed a med for vomiting/nausea, Zofran! This is prescribed for nausea and vomiting during chemo or after surgery. Poor service and questionable medical advise. Lose, lose! We will never cross this businesses threshold again. read more

I went into the clinic today to do a urine test for a new job opportunity that I receive, and the receptionist as well as all the other staff members I encountered was RUDE. Worst customer service ever! Did it ever occur to them that they are in the medical field? When I tried to ask a question, both of the staff members looked agitated and annoyed at the very thought of me asking a question? if it wasn't for my company doing business with them, I would never set foot in this place again. When Fastmed first came to Statesville, I gave them a try because they were different from the urgent care that had been there for years. First visit was great and I spoke to others who had good experiences. These good experiences were apparently only because of the initial PA / Practice Manager Charles Bell. After he became frustrated with the company practices and left, the true Fastmed colors began to show. Rude, not compassionate and all about the money. Don't come in near closing time, because they will let you know that they aren't happy about you being there. Costs are astronomical and billing practices are horrible. You can drive another couple minutes into town and only pay your Primary Care copay for better service. I now make the drive to Mocksville whenever I need an Urgent Care to the WFUBMC clinic. Primary care copay, accurate, attentive care and the backing of Wake Forest University resources. read more

one star is an overestimate of how I would really like to describe this medical practice. I do not like writing bad reviews but this is something I feel very, very strongly about. I really would like to save fellow parents and potential patients their money and time. I cannot even begin to describe the lack of customer service at this facility. as a healthcare professional, it is difficult to understand the poor service I have received on numerous occasions. also, as a healthcare professional, I have tried to assess the situation as a one time event each time. I do believe there are only so many one time events before you have to recognize that this is just a full blown problem. when fastmed first opened, the provider (Charles something, a PA) was remarkable. he has since moved on to other opportunities and the staff that has replaced him is subpar to say the least. I am very disappointed with this facility and will not spend any more of my money at this practice. I urge you to drive a bit further if you can in order to receive the medical care you need. (I won't go into detail on this review but their billing practices as a corporation are very, very unprofessional and inadequate. I was turned over to collections and within a short amount of time, received a refund for overpayment on the same account. please be weary of this establishment and choose your medical providers carefully.) read more

Would Highly not recommend FAST MED of Statesville. Let me explain that I always go to my primary care provider but their last appointment was before I got off of work so I decided to go to the Statesville FAST Med Urgent. When I arrived the very rude receptionist was looking at me like I wasn't suppose to be there. I presented my insurance information to her and told her I was there due to me having some chest soreness/ pain. I sat down and started to complete my paperwork and the receptionist told me that the Physician would not be able to see me and that he/she would recommend for me to go to the hospital. So I called my sister who is a Physician (who is 2 hours away from me) to ask her advice on the situation and she informed me as long as I didn't have the following signs: Pressure, tightness, severe pain, or a squeezing or aching sensation in my chest or arms, then the FAST MED office should have been able to see me to verify and confirm my condition, but instead I was sent away. Can you imagine being in pain and a doctor tells you to pretty much go away? I should have never gone to this place thinking they could help me, but please understand I will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone. Word of mouth is everything and I plan to let everyone know. They really deserve no rating. read more
