It has a cafe at the back which is reknowned for its cheese scones, which are very good. It also has staple cafe fayre like jacket potatoes and soup and the cakes are good. There are a few tables out the back which are great to sit at on a sunny day, watching the birds feed at the feeder and marvelling at the steep, black hills behind it. There are also some installations in smaller rooms. Mixtures of ceramics and paintings mostly. The shop reminds me of a national trust shop, with good quality local craft gifts and cards-I bought quite a lot! The cafe is in the conservatory area, selling cream teas, cakes and wines. No large meals served here. You can sit on the benches outside which is nice on a sunny day. In the grounds there is a small theatre and short woodland walk. Worth popping in for an hour.
