Decent place, great atmosphere, and good quality food. I have two major bones of contention with this place, though.
1) The queue situation is a disaster. There is absolutely no order to the chaos, and the servers make no attempt to determine who arrived when. The result is that in all three times I've come here, I've politely waited my turn (after all, there were people in front of me) for 5 minutes while people walk in and order in front of me, until I get aggravated and start pushing past others to order. Then I feel bad about my behaviour. Don't put me in that situation! Create some order to this chaos!
2) Although the sandwiches are good, the pulled pork sandwich is 90%+ meat and bread, accompanied by a massive pile of chips. They really need to break it up a bit with something fresh or tangy or something. It's great quality meat, but too much of a good thing is a bad thing, people! Whenever I finish my lunch from Fat Duck, I'm basically ready for a nap for the next two hours. It doesn't have to be this way! Balance this dish out, a bit!
If they were to fix these two things, this place would really shine, especially given the lack of culinary inspiration that is Darling Harbour. But as it is now, this is solidly a 3-star experience. read more
