This is one of my local gems. My friend have some Michelin starred restaurants near his office and some he goes to for business lunches so I went for Burmese since that is harder to find with the other Burmese restaurant I ate at in San Francisco. We ordered starters: spring rolls, chickpea bites and my favourite Green Tea Leaf salad. We each ordered a main so Shan noodles, coconut shrimp and the coconut noodle soup, but we dined more family style, splitting everything. I brought a nice bottle of french champagne I had, which you can bring with a $10 corkage and I knew they did not have a sparkling wine on the menu. The wine list there is fairly basic so BYO is a good option if you have a group that likes a decent bottle of wine with your meal since you can get ones for $20-25. I know some nice ones at LCBO at that range that well go well with the food such as J. Lohr Cabinet Sauvignon or NZ Oyster Bay Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio and I can sometimes find one on sale for under $20 or for sparkling a Prosecco or Crémant de Bourgogne My friends really like Rangoon and they would go back there again. As I said this is one of the ones I consider my locals..

Great spices and mix of ingredients. Overall, it's a bit on the lower salt end but the mix of…read morespices are very unique and tasty. I have only ever ate at their Gloucester location so I had the lunch menu only before. Coming to to Somerset location for dinner means a larger menu selection. My friend and i had the combo for two. It consisted of 1 Burmese spring roll, a choice of lentil or coconut soup, chicken in Burmese spices with rice, and Burmese tea. A very unique dining experience. Definitely recommend it. The new location is more spacious and nice.
