5/5 Stars -- Truly unforgettable. Favorite Bay Lodge is hands-down the best lodge experience I've ever had. The staff made us feel like family from the moment we arrived, the rooms were spotless and the beds were amazingly comfortable, and the fishing was next level! Literally the most fish I've ever caught! Every meal was incredible (Michelin style), and the wildlife around Angoon is something you have to see to believe. Assessable by boat or float plane from Juneau. An absolute wonderful place. Friendly employees that go out of their way to be nice. Signed up for fishing but there are other options. The place seems timeless because of the absolute beauty. It is fantastic to escape the heat of summer. read more

The lodge is beautiful with a lovely pine interior overlooking a bay where you can see bald eagles flying and an occasional sea lion swim by. The sea plane ride in was fun and we saw some beautiful country. The staff is very friendly and they always make sure that you are comfortable and happy. They ask what activities you would like to do and build your visit around them. We wanted to go fishing and they supplied us with all of our gear including boots, rain slickers and bib overalls. We had a wonderful captain who's boat had a cabin and a bathroom. He made sure we caught a lot of salmon and some halibut and rock fish. The lodge packed us a box lunch every day we were on the boat. The food was exceptional! Hot appetizers every night during cocktail hour. Be warned. The lodge cannot serve alcohol because it is on tribal lands so you must bring your own in. We stocked up in Juneau before flying in. The lodge supplies the usual mixes. The food is mostly local and top notch. I love this place and would go back any time read more

Dana, Kimberly, Jerry, Chef Corwin, and Chef Jasmine and their team made our stay at Favorite Bay a 6 star stay. Beautiful lodge in a beautiful natural setting. I learned how to fish through the help of their experienced captains. My husband and our two friends had a fabulous time - abundant halibut, salmon, rock fish. We also hauled in crab and shrimp from the pots. Orcas, and humpback whales breaching and bubble net feeding. The wildlife around the lodge was fun to watch after a day of fishing. The food and deserts prepared by the chefs was world class. Leena was a delight as she graciously served us. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Leena gave me a cap to wear as I had forgotten mine. Chef Corwin went on an excursion with us to assist our friend who was unable to walk very well. The beds are very comfortable and it is fun to meet other guests from around the world. We will be returning to Favorite Bay. read more

my son and I travel to Alaska every summer for some quality father and son time together,and since we both love fishing we usually stay in a full service fishing lodge,this year on the recommendation of our travel agent wechose to go to this lodge,It was a TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT,on the first day the boat was 2hours late,2nd day we were forced to fish on a boat that did not have hallibut fishing licence when I insisted to fish for hallibut I was charged extra$200,3rd day we were forced to share our boat with another couple although I have paid an extra $2000 to have the boat for ourselves,4th day I shared the boat again,and the attitude was by the owners uncompromising,this was an unpleasant experience. read more
