There's a fireman's pole to slide down in both sections. It's dog friendly too but please keep them leashed and clean up after them. There are a few engraved rocks too that have some history and some just facts about nature.

The MC Councilman Richard Ash announced the entertainment such as the Drag Queens from Provincetown, the 3 were extremely talented by Lip synching popular songs then BOOTY VORTEX the DISCO GROUP WOWED THE AUDIENCE from 70's and 80's! Then presented Scholarships to one Senior of Quincy High School and one from North Quincy High school! Plus and award to the Pastors from The Church of Presidents across from City Hall! The hit entertainment was Quincy's own son.....TORRENCE who performed several songs along with his band and dancers! So much activity and food such as Black Creek BBQ, Aahhh ROMA LLC and Ice Cream Truck SMILES by the MILES and a popular Beverage BREAK ROCK BREWING COMPANY Tent. So, last year, when I saw an event was scheduled to take place there, I figured it would be a safer time to visit. Well, yes and no. I wasn't the only person going, but because I wasn't the only person going, their parking lot was full, so parking was a bit of an issue. I checked out the grafitti, making my way around the folks standing or sitting around, to get a closer look at the rocks. I stayed on the grassy ground while I noticed some folks climbing up the rocky cliffs, both with and without rock climbing gear.

I'm so disappointed, I barely even know what to write…read more I'm a huge presidential history "nerd". In fact, I'm reading a biography on each president in order. Visiting the Adamses birthplaces, their home at Peace Field and their final resting places has been on my "bucket list" for YEARS! In fact, I hope to visit every president's birthplace and final resting place. My wife and I spent the last week in Boston from San Antonio (planned the trip months in advance). Honestly, no - I didn't think to check when the homes would be open for tours; I just assumed a National Historic Park would be accessible more than just a handful of months per year (silly me!). When I found out we'd be there after the season ended - I called the park - and finally got someone on the phone. They were friendly, but dismissive. Bottom line: I traveled 2,000 miles to see some of the most historic places on earth and fulfill part of my "bucket list", only to find out the homes were closed and the park refused to entertain someone willing to pay for a private tour. The main office/visitor center/gift shop was disappointing. They did not have the T-shirt I wanted in my size, and I just felt the selection of keepsakes/mementos, in general, was lacking.

Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

I…read moreguess it's not really a park but the coastal area behind the American Legion building where the road to Moon Island becomes restricted for anyone who's not with the police academy or fire academy. Secret Squantum Park has a GREAT view of the Boston skyline - especially at sunset. You can work your way along the small rocky beaches covered in zillions of periwinkles and find yourself looking over calm waters back to the shiny Kubrickesque monolith that is the John Hancock building. There's also good views of UMass, the JFK library and the mysterious Thompson Island. Oh, and if you like skipping stones - THIS IS THE PLACE. I managed 12 skips with one stone. New PB!

We have set the dial to 1930 in the town of Boston MA @ The James P Kelleher Rose Garden. This is one of Boston's Secret Hidden Gems that is right in the heart of the city but off the beaten path. It is completely Hidden from view that passerby's on foot & by car don't see. This place is part of what's called the Emerald Necklace. It is a great spot to relax, check out the flowers & have a picnic on green grass & trees which are right next door. The Kelleher Rose Garden is located just a few minutes walking distance behind Boston's Museum of Fine Arts in the Back Bay Fens section. You can park at the meters all around the museum for Free there on Sunday. Park & walk across the street behind the museum, across the Bridge & the River & in a few minutes you are there. This is a beautiful medium size Formal English Flower Garden with more than 1500 Roses that was established in 1930. It was designed by Arthur Shurcliff, a Boston landscape architect who had worked for Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed the Fens as well as New York's Famous Central Park. Be sure to check out the wide variety of roses, the greenery, the Arches, the Fountain, & the view of the Museum. There's also a reproduction of the famous Desconsol Statue - a gift from Boston's sister city Barcelona in Spain. It was designed by Catalan sculptor Josep Llimona. Also scope out the Julia Child Flower the famous chef who lived in Boston. She's got her own flower as well as The Home Run flower dedicated to Baseball. You can walk all around the perimeter & see pretty much everything even when the gate is closed. This is a great place to bring a picnic basket or cooler & blanket & have a Spring, Summer or Fall Picnic. There's also a great view of The Prudential Building & The John Hancock Tower 2 of the tallest buildings in Boston. There's green grass & trees you can sit under too - what a picturesque natural setting. You can also walk to the George Robert White Veterans Memorial Park that is a tribute to our fallen soldiers which is right next door which is also a Freebie. And if you want to walk a bit farther down there's the Fenway Victory Gardens which is also another place to check out that's also another Freebie in the Fenway area.
