They were breaking for lunch. What surprised me was one of the ladies got into her vehicle, attached her seatbelt and pull out of the parking space and as she drove passed me she was using her cell phone. MY QUESTION IS...IF SHE WAS TESTING SOMEONE AND THEY USED THEIR CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING. WOULD SHE FAIL THEM? Rules for thee, but not for me!

In the two other states I have applied for a driver license, it was all day event and signing away your first born child with as much documentation they required. Here in Kentucky, it was a complete different ballgame. I walked in to no line, received a friendly greeting, and was assured right away. It took about 5-10 mins of processing then the lady at the camera called my name before the cashier was even done! Got my picture, took a seat for about 3 minutes and my name was called for my license. I was there all of about 30 mins total, probably even less time. Quite amazing process if you ask me. I'm officially a Kentucky resident!

About 8:05 I was already being helped. Unfortunately I didn't have what I needed and ran home. Spent less than 10 minutes inside. The woman that helped me was friendly and helpful. About 8:25 I came back. Got everything processed (change of license from a different state), and in under 20 minutes I was out the door with my new KY driver's license. The 3 employees I interacted with were very friendly, and the service was quick. I'm very happy with my experience there.

County Clerks offices are a place you need to go to yearly to pay tags for your vehicles. Everyone…read morenormally hates to go there and stand in the big long lines...Not here in Winchester. I went here Tue to pay my partners tags and get the car he just purchased from our neighbor transferred. They informed me that I didn't get the seller to sign and notarized in another spot. She signed the thing in 3 places, but I needed another one. So forward in time the next day. Today I went down here to transfer the car and low and behold, my partner needed to sign in another spot...WTF? Why didn't they tell me I needed this yesterday? Thank goodness I am Power of Attorney with my partner and they had it on file. I signed on his behalf and BOOM. Got it registered. They also gave me tools to get the plates off the car etc. The great ladies that work here do a great job and are very kind. They are super helpful. I never have to wait here more than 2 minutes when I go here. I am giving them 5 stars even though the issue about another needed signature without them telling me the first time I came in because they always help me out and tell me exactly what i need. I also bought a charity mailbox made from recycled license plates that goes to help local vets. Impressive. Thank you ladies for all your great work. You are very much appreciated.

I've patronized a lot of libraries and this one is pretty phenomenal. When I jokingly told one of…read morethe librarians recently that they pretty much have everything but a coffee bar, he deadpanned they're building one in the new addition. And he was serious! Every book I've wanted to see, they've had. They have a great periodicals section with pretty much every magazine that matters and the New York Times and Wall Street Journal in addition to the local and state newspapers. You can check out electronic books, digital music and even -- I kid you not -- a freaking fishing pole if you'd like to do a little angling at Scott County Park or on North Elkhorn Creek. This place even provides free notary service. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd even wash your car for you if you ask nicely. All in all, one of the best libraries I've visited and a great community asset for Kentucky's ninth-largest city.

Went there to get an International document notarized. The old lady at the front counter who stated…read moreshe was a notary tried to alter the document which is against the law. Clearly this old lady has no clue as to her role as a Notary. Went to a local Attorney's office and they notarized it without any problems. Clearly the librarian was attempting to practice law without a license. The lady needs to be investigated as she is giving legal advice on international documents and has not a clue what she's talking about.

In today's world you can do many tasks on-line via your own computer. Sometimes, it's nice to have…read morea face to face conversation with a human being to have circumstances reviewed and questions answered. That face to face meeting was exactly what I needed to happen with the Social Security Administration. After phoning the appropriate phone number I was a tad bit worried about the experience I may have during an actual meeting. If rating the phone experience alone it would be a 2.5 stars. This is based on busy signals, rambling messages, worming through the transfer system and the inability to talk to a live representative. So I went to the Social Security Administration without having a scheduled appointment. I feared disorganization and long waits. Oh how I had misjudged this agency with wrong preconceived notions. I met my husband in the parking lot and we entered the building together. Upon entering we were greeted from a distance by a security guard who pointed to a registration machine. Wow, a nice clean touch screen system, where you enter your Social Security number, then follow the prompts for reason for visit, etc. At the end it spits out a small paper tag with your registration number. We had a seat in the clean lobby and proceeded to wait for our number to be called. Within 10 minutes we were called to window "number" B. We met briefly with that employee who determined we needed to meet with a case worker who could further answer our questions, print out our options, and assist us with evaluating the whole picture. So we went back to the lobby area to wait. I figured it would be another 10-15 minutes. Wrong again. We no more than took a seat and we heard our last name announced and were told to go to window number 11. The case worker was a delightful, intelligent young lady who understood our questions and was armed with computer print outs of our collective Social Security data. She plunked the information we presented into the system and printed out our options. We were not rushed to make a decision but advised to take the information home with us and decide what works best with our current financial situation. She informed us because we had shown up in-person to make the inquiries she would generate a letter that was good for six months to make that date be the application date. WOW, my head is still spinning with this positive experience. Now we have a phone number to call to make an appointment or we can complete our application process on-line. A true five star experience with a government agency.

Ok at first I thought this was gonna be some half library sort of thing but I was so wrong! The…read morepeople here love people and it shows. I'm used to the main branch but since finding this gem rarely visit any other branch. They have a good computer room and pretty good selection of books. It looks l they do but that's just bc they only have one copy instead of five. But the best thing here is their programming. They seem to have more family oriented programs than any other one. I think most employees speak Spanish which is nice for the Latino community so they feel welcome and included. Plus they get special funding to do more community events for kids. I've never had a bad experience with anyone for the last six months I've been coming which is more than I can say for the rest! I go around 3x a week and love it!
