When I chose to re-enter the church. I was looking for community and fellowship, without the institutional hullabaloo that seems to be crystallizing in many churches. I was deeply moved by the pastors sermon about corruption within the church, as he bookended how we as a church can make a difference. He has also espoused queer affirmation theology, which is a radical departure from the institutional church. The church itself is modest but has a lot of soul, and a large contingent of dedicated members who bring so much life into it. Within its congregation is a member who is 103 years old and just as lively as if she were 20! The pipe organ plays every Saturday and this church is starting up its choir pretty soon. I love the music. Brings me peace of mind in troubling times such as these. There is no expectation of belief. Only acceptance and fellowship. If you are uncertain about everything this is your church!

Mom's Church SITREP…read more So when I am committed to a full weekend with the mom, it sometimes means a Sabbath morning excursion to the church where her official SDA membership is registered. I make no pretense to being a fan of organized religion anymore. However, having said that, there is a lot of positive interaction that can be achieved through community with different churches, including this one. THE SETUP Ironically, my exposure to this particular church predates my mother's in fact. I first came to this church back in 1988 when it hosted the Association of Adventist Forums (AAF) meetings. AAF is a philosophically more progressive element of the SDA Church, though it doesn't really engender any official status with the SDA Church. Shortly around this time, I moved to California with my then-wife, but humorously enough, my mother then maintained her SDA membership in this church. CHURCHY FUNCTIONS The church structure itself is really quite elegant. It has a lot of beautiful rooms and space, including the large sanctuary where the worship services take place as well as the subterranean level where a lot of Sabbath School classes (before the main service at 11am) transpire. They have some pretty kick-ass potlucks, I must say, and when it was my mom's time (since she is a deaconess) to help with the organization, she really puts on a great spread of food for all the members. VISITORS Since I grew up in the SDA Church and went to SDA Academy and College, I have a lot of visitors from both these phases in my life whom will pay a visit to our family in Seattle. This is the church we will are most inclined to bring our guests with our mom to. THE LOWDOWN A pleasant church experience if your interests run this direction.

After hearing about Gateway Center Church (I guess formerly named Todays Church) at the Mariner's…read moregame, I decided to check it out for myself. The praise and worship was okay, a little loud and too long for my tastes, and I noticed that there weren't many people my age (late 30's). The offering teaching felt very "high pressure" and was off base. The preacher was intense at times and he went on for entirely too long (over an hour of just preaching). Many of the congregation members were what I can only characterize as spastic, either that or they just had way too much coffee that morning. By that I mean they were overly (fake) excited. I'm sure that the long time members that posted messages here love the church, but it's probably because they haven't been anywhere else in so long they don't know any different, I on the otherhand was a first timer, and I did not feel very welcomed. It was very clickish there and I didn't meet anyone because everyone was all caught up with everyone else. As far as it being a cult, I used to be in a christian cult for about 2 years (many years ago), and the one thing at this church that really stood out to me was that the offering teaching was taken out of context and was way off and it felt high pressure. I won't be going back to this church because I really didn't like it, I would recommend Bethany Christian Assembly, New Life Foursquare, or United Pentecostal (they are all within a few miles of Gateway) all of which I have attended and I have had much better experiences at those churches than I did at Gateway. Those churches also have incredible healings and miracles happening, but without the weird (un-biblical) doctrines, and with a much friendlier, more community oriented culture.

HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH @ KIRKLAND…read more I've been here numerous of times, it's such an incredible church and has the most kindest community. Extremely welcoming, and always a great lovely time. Parking is available and can get filled quickly, so I'd recommend coming about 15 minutes early. The church is clean, lots of seats, and has a beautiful architecture to it. There are also books that has all the songs available in every seat. The choir is incredible and the priest always has a great homily. Overall, great church and great people!

Most everything has been packed or rosaries need adjusting but tools packed, We purchased rosaries, pictures, and necklace to help. I called 8/21/25 because we needed 4 items blessed.. Told to bring them, add ph# and once blessed give a call to pick-up. I waited till following Wednesday and then only 3 items returned; no idea if blessed, 4th no where to be found. Mom looses her 7 sorrows of Mary medallion on a brand new silver necklace. W/ extension. You either had someone steal Friday or the following Monday . Our church let a valuable piece be taken....7 sorrows of Mary. You should know mom prays every night. She has polio and her Daughter has Myasthenia Gravis. We just need to have our prayers blessed; We have our church since 1992 and never had an issue of stolen relics.. How does one go forward when the Church is stealing?

If you are driving by and spot the sign on the lawn, Consider dropping in to peer at the murals drawn. The priest greeted us on a sunny Saturday, And welcomed us to light a candle and stay! It was so comforting to know All the way here in Seattle Armenians have grown. Our heritage has survived and our culture lives on. Grateful for this space we happened to stumble upon.
