I knew she was good at her job- I had seen her work and she planned a friend's wedding, but I didn't realize how incredible she actually was - not only as a professional, but also as what a wonderful person and friend. During our initial conversation and meeting, neither of us anticipated how drastic the world was going to change, and I was so excited about Meagan's ability to translate my messy thoughts into a wedding more beautiful and special than beyond my craziest imagination (and within my budget!) The storyboard she created took all the elements that I talked about and pintrested, and built the most beautifully personalized dream wedding. Dave and I had our dream venue secured and Meagan pretty much took care of the rest. She provided recommendations on lighting, DJ and flowers, all who were easy to work with, accommodating and nice. Her team designed personalized octopus invitations and matching rehearsal dinner invites and managed all of RSVPs for both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. Beyond the management of the wedding, she took the time to get to know me - she met and understood the dynamics of my relationship and friendships, what makes me tick (cake), and even attended my bachelorette party. She answered my crazy texts and phone calls with positivity and calmness and never let me stress out. As we continued to get closer to the date, we felt confident that in just a few short weeks, we were going to have our dream wedding. And then COVID-19 happened. I think I was the first client of Meagan's to want to postpone - it was early - before the quarantine, back when kids were still in school and life was normal. I remember calling her and going back and forth on what to do - I had even gotten a case of hand sanitizer just in case we needed them at the wedding... oh how naive we were. We made the decision to postpone - hoping that things would be better in the fall. Meagan jumped into action, secured the venue for September and Every. Single. Vendor - flowers, lighting, DJ, food, linens, cake. She did it all so I didn't have to, all while standing by my side while I mourned the day and drank wine. The pandemic has not gotten any better, and we have made the decision to postpone our September wedding, which has resulted in us losing our venue. Once again, Meagan has stepped in to help us weigh our options and is helping move forward. I could not be more thankful to have Meagan and the Magnolia Grove Weddings team on my side and standing with me through this process. There are truly no words to express my gratitude and admiration for the support I have been provided and I cannot thank Meagan enough for everything she has done and continues to do.

We know that one wedding planner can not effectively "be the best" at every style of wedding, which is why we have a team of planners with different specialties and personality types, who are excited to work with you! Early on we had issues with her being responsive and were ready to part ways, but discussed it with Nicole in firm terms and she seemed better after that. Planning occurred, vendors were engaged, and that went smoothly enough after the initial issues with her initial poor responsiveness. She presented herself as an elite service that would "make us feel like guests at our own wedding", and charged a lot. So we expected a high level of service. We also had an issue with invitations being misprinted for which Nicole failed to take responsibility. The worst of our issues with Nicole occurred the wedding day. Prior to the black tie wedding, she did day-of preparations in a t-shirt and slovenly yoga pants- reasonable for preparations. However, she never changed into appropriate attire and was all around the wedding looking very sloppy. I can't underscore enough how poorly she presented herself, and what a negative view it made of the wedding. Guests asked for the wedding coordinator to give the wedding gifts to, and came to us instead because they looked at her and didn't trust her to give their wedding envelopes to when they saw how she looked. She and her staff failed to manage the guest flow, so many guests ended up seeing the bride prior to her coming down the aisle- destroying the "first look". She neglected to coordinate the photographer and set up of the photos, resulting in our guests being asked not once, but twice to move scores of chairs for the photographs. In wrapping up at the end of the evening, she neglected to coordinate the vendors finishing up on time and getting out of the venue, leaving it in adequate shape so we lost our deposit. Our son and his wife were happily married in the end, but it would have been a less frustrating, and certainly less expensive without Nicole. I ran into someone else in Pinehurst who had used her for their wedding. They had a very similar experience. They had been smart enough to insist on a lower fee based on how she presented, and we wish we had. For what we paid we had very second rate service. Quite disappointing.

She thought of all of the details and maintained close communication with the bride and all members of the wedding party so that all aspects went off without a hitch!! When the original flower plan didn't work, she was able to put together an alternate plan that worked beautifully and cost less! And she knows EVERYBODY in the So. pines, Pinehurst area so we felt closely connected to all of the best wedding vendors in the area. We could not have done this without Nicole and Jen and their team. I HIGHLY recommend Vision Events!

GREAT food, FABULOUS venue, but Unacceptable communication…read more My husband and I chose the venue for the ease that they marketed- we wouldn't have to deal with the worry of planning, knowing things would be done right, with less worry and involvement. Unfortunately, that was not how things panned out. Firstly : Communication with us on the front end was a trial - I could not get them to respond, even though I used several mediums - Phone call, emails, even text messages. There was no onboarding process to let me know what was happening nor any expectations. There was no general time line for us to follow, this coupled with radio silence at every turn made our experience with Mad Dash horrendous. Secondly, execution on the few things we were told was lacking - we were notified that we would get the day of timeline a month out, and it was given less than a week out. Thirdly: With the florals, there were some flowers that were "rented" to us that looked like they were over a week old with smelly, yellow/green water, and dried up greenery/shriveled flowers. What was great? The DJ, the food, everything was great. The décor (minus some flowers) was lovely and nicely done - adored the venue itself, the color choices, and adherence to the basic general plan we outlined was well done. It rained, and they were able to implement the change to the plans quickly and with little hiccups. The last grievance, and probably the most impactful, was the coordinator, who I got several questions about her scowling at our guests during dancing. Highly recommend Mim's House as a venue, DON'T use Mad Dash unless they change who does the coordination (currently done by Priscilla). Priscilla was a bit of a bully throughout the day, the linens were not the ones we had wanted, but were "her favorites". We also requested yellow flowers in the bridal bouquet, but not a drop of yellow could be found. She was overall a negative presence from the moment we walked through the doors. I had RAVE reviews of the ceremony, however, continuing in the theme with the communication issues I followed up with the officiant twice and there was no reply after his first email and I was not able to review the ceremony until the day of, and even with that, he miss-introduced us. Which, as a newly married couple, was not the best foot forward we imagined.

She was enthusiastic, and had great tips on how to implement our ideas. She has totally customizable service, meaning you can choose the exact aspects you're looking for, within your budget. We hired Amanda for the day-of coordination - my fiance and I wanted to do the planning ourselves, but we needed help to make sure everything went smoothly on the actual day. We also added on catering guidance. Amanda worked in catering previously, and has a good handle of what to look for in catering contracts. She set up tastings with local caterers, and was able to accommodate our short trip in town. We met with Amanda at the venue a couple times, and she was always very responsive via email and phone. I know she handles a lot of events, but I never felt rushed. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly! I heard of tiny incidents after the fact that she took care of immediately. It was great to know that our wedding was in extremely capable hands, and my family and I could just enjoy the day. From the small things (making sure I had my shoes and phone in the getaway car) to the big things (making sure everything was on schedule!), she handled it all with ease and a smile. She has a great reputation in Durham, and I can attest that she lives up to the hype! I cannot recommend her enough!
