Cold, impersonal and joyless and not how I remembered…read more.. The selection was limited and "The Lounge" part is actually members only and it costs $1000 or more to join. After being disappointed in the limited selection (no Oliva V's) , I purchased a Plasencia. I wanted to enjoy my cigar after a long road trip and was looking forward to share my experience with a friend who also drove a long distance to meet me there. I asked if I could smoke downstairs and when we went to "The Lounge" part I was told by bartender that it was for members only (empty as well) , not what I remembered from the last time I went a number of years ago... He didn't even have a V cutter. We were relegated to a dark cocktail table with cold plastic uncomfortable seats and my general impression was that we were not welcomed.

Visited recently Saturday late afternoon 11/8; purchased my cigar upstairs street-level and walked…read moredownstairs to cigar lounge/parlor..not very busy, but the bartender seemed annoyed that I wanted a drink; it took him a awhile to acknowledge me as he was making a couple of drinks veeeery slowly for an adjacent table. I wasn't sure if his attire was a leftover halloween costume or part of his standard flair. Anyway, I ordered a drink and strangely there weren't any cigar cutters/matches/lighters to be seen; I thought this somewhat strange because I'm in a candy shop??? I asked a question about an event being hosted by this business at another location and the bartender didn't know anything about it, or where it was located; seemed more annoyed; although a friendly patron chimed-in and said he knew where it was. I proceeded to an area with leather chairs and large TV; there was one unfriendly individual in there and a cowboy movie was on the screen; I really didn't come in to watch a movie; a general sports program would have been more entertaining. Generally I found the place had an attitude and was unwelcoming, which probably explains why it was so dead.

I always hit this place up when I'm on my way to go visit my brother & SIL who live over the bridge in Kittery to grab some Truly's or White Claws. I also like to grab a couple of scratch tickets too. One time I was in here they were selling dog bone treats so I had picked up a couple for my Mom's dogs. It's easy to get in & out of here. Staff has always been polite. There is plenty of parking. I will be back next time I'm in town. Thank you!!

Today Smoke Signals lost a long time customer. I've been coming here since they had the other…read morelocation, how ever many years ago this was. I've always believed in supporting local businesses, and was proud to call SS home. This ended tonight. A couple weeks ago I purchased a replacement atomizer for my Cloud Pen. The manufacturer was running a sale at half price, but I again believe in keeping my business local. I paid the $10 for the atomizer, and even did some card magic for the employee's here. I went home and popped in the new atomizer, only to find it didn't work. No big deal, I said to myself. I'll just head down there when I can and get a replacement. Well, tonight was the night and I went in there fully expecting them to replace the broken atomizer they sold me. The very condescending worker told me they don't give refunds. I said I didn't want a refund, I just wanted a replacement. He said, "yeah, this is normal with a lot of the vape stuff" and then pointed to the sign stating "all sales are final". I couldn't believe my ears. I literally said to him, "ok, so you guys sold me something that doesn't work, and I'm here pleasantly asking for one that does work, and you're telling me you aren't going to replace this? You realize that after I leave here you guys are losing a weekly customer, right? For good, I'll loterally never step foot in the building again?" He says, "yeah I totally understand man, sorry about that. I can sell you another one if you want (all smiles. As if he enjoyed this). And then I turn around and exit this shop for the last time. I understand why there's a need to make all sales final, given the nature of the product, but in this case I'm showing a completely unused $10 atomizer, that I can literally show not working. In addition, it's not like I'm a random customer who hasn't spent thousands in that store. I helped the owner of this business, Sue, and her brother with snowboarding equipment many years ago. If she had come back with an unused binding that she couldn't use because it was broken, what do you think I would've done? She would've left with working equipment. Guys, take your business elsewhere. It should be illegal to sell broken merchandise. There are other shops opening up nearly every month. A shop that is in the practice of selling broken replacement parts is not one that warrants our business. Portsmouth Smoke and Vape will be more than happy to have my business from this day forth. Lately I have been bringing in my puppy and the staff puppy sit while I look at their very large selection of vapes and Vape Juices. I never go anywhere else, even if I need something and they are closed. Their welcoming attitude, knowledge of inventory and all around Awsomeness is worth the wait!
