Delivery service is horrible they play with your packages and say they don't have an apt number even though they do. If someone is sending you the next day you gonna get it 2 days later. Terrible service !! I went there with a heavy battery and they told me they couldn't read the code that I should bring a readable label. No alternatives like manual input, email the label to us we can print it, etc. the only answer was bring a new label and don't leave your stuff here. It was a heavy battery and obviously I need it to return it. I had to leave a friend in charge of the battery until I printed another label. The worst thing was the rude behavior of the lady in charge. I wish somebody could treat her the same way to understand that we are customers of this business. Bad and terrible experience. read more

I came in one evening to ship a Fedex envelope. I was told it would be $50. I was so confused because the last time I shipped it (from a nearby ship center that is actually great), it was $13. I asked why it was so expensive & if the associate was certain $50 was right. She said, "That's what it says one my screen. Why would I lie to you?" I never called her a liar... I felt that was an aggressive and unprofessional answer. I ended up leaving, went to a nearby ship center with the same package, & it was $13. Are you all gatekeeping Fedex One Rate? This Fedex location lies about visiting my apartment and not being able to reach to me for a package that requires indirect signature on delivery. They haven't left a notice and reached out to me about it. It happened twice already and my packages ended up being returned to sender. To give more information, I am living in an apartment complex with front desk that can accept packages and indirect signature requirement means that it can be signed and received by them. Moreover I am working from home and I have been in my apartment at all times during their so called delivery attempts. Hence I am saying it is a lie. Not to mention that there were no notices(like a paper on the door) about the failed attempts on my door or anywhere else. Haven't had such issue with other postal/parcel services nor any other Fedex location other than this Herndon location. This branch is a complete rubbish, they lied about attempting to deliver my package twice which they didn't obviously as no one was there at the time they indicated it was delivered, cameras don't lie, our concierge at the apartment don't lie and I was at home the entire time. It gave me so much inconvenience as I had to pick it up all they to their branch. Also, their staff confirmed that it was not delivered as there was no note left or whatsoever. I recently started working in the area and my coworkers told me that this was where we drop packages off if we ever miss the daily pick up in the office. I will say that this is location is solid for dropping packages off. I typically will stop in around 5pm or 6pm. I casually stop in, drop my package and so far, they haven't lost or missed any of the packages I've left on their counter for them. One day, I did wait for about 15-20minutes before being helped because they were having issues with finding someone's package that was for pick up. I'm not too surprised because I've worked logistics before and I think a lot of people don't really understand the number of packages that are back there. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. I think the two ladies that usually work in the late afternoons and evenings are fine, not the super friendliest, but they make sure my packages are taken in. That day that I waited for 15-20 minutes, they told me that in the future I could always just leave it on the counter and ever since then I just come in and leave it on the counter if I didn't need a receipt. So I'll give this location a solid 4 stars because they get the job done for my needs. Did I mention they are conveniently located off of route 28, Mclaren rd exit? I think it's nice that it's tucked away from other shopping centers and next to the highway. I'll say it's a good place for dropping off. read more

The shippers of this facility incorrectly indicated there was a delay because I was not available. However the vendor put no such restrictions on the package. My package was held for many days longer than necessary without the case manager getting back to me. Trying to call FedEx national was a complete waste of time. It's a huge black hole. Recently came to drop off a return, employee says they don't scan QR code's when it clearly it says that what they are supposed to do on their website, all he said was "we got a memo" from the company telling us not to scan return QR codes. I've been waiting for my overnight package and that contains medication that should be refrigerated. I contacted the FedEx customer service several times and they kept saying they understand my situation but unable to help. And, the package will be there on the next day but cannot tell at what time! I was awaiting a recent package from FedEx one day. I waited for several hours and when they did not show up - I ran out to run a quick 10 minute errand. As I am heading out the front door, I find that there is a FedEx delivery notice on my front door. Yet I never heard my doorbell ring - or someone knock on the door. I called FedEx and the guy checked on the status of the package - and advised he would have the driver return to deliver the package by 2:00 pm EST. Around 1:50 pm, another guy from FedEx dispatch calls to tell me that I will need to sit the center in Herndon/Chantilly to pick up the package - after 5:00 pm. I asked why I was told the driver would return by 2:00 pm with the package? This person stated they had knowledge of this. I responded that perhaps they need to do a better job of communicating and setting expectations. So I sat in rush hour traffic for about a 2 hour round trip from Haymarket to the FedEx Ship Center and back on a Thursday evening. The lady at the FedEx Ship Center - to her credit promptly found my package and processed my pickup. It's just the rest of the experience that I found less than optimal. read more

I only go there to drop off my packages or pick-up them. Word of advice please avoid buying labels from the store just buy them online. It slows down the line, the management doesn't have a good system to keep the traffic moving. If I were you and value my time I would print the labels online and drop them off. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This specific FedEx has mis-delivered or straight up refused to deliver every package that's gone through them since I have moved into this area. I've never left a yelp review before but this delivery was so bad I had to get on here. I ordered a rather expensive item and requested they knock for a signature. I get a notification at 6pm that delivery was attempted, at 6pm, but nobody was home. Confused, as I'm literally sitting in my living room, I open the door. There is not even a FedEx truck in the nearby vicinity. When I called, they were dismissive and rude and did not seem to care at ALL. On top of it, when I asked when the package would be delivered, I got a run around non-answer as the next day is Thanksgiving. This location appears to be very new. It is near the airport and has plenty of parking. It is a much better facility for picking up packages than the ground service out over by Van Dorn area, which is horrible. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. I was impressed. The only thing I must point out is GPS will get you lost...it maps this location to the other end of EDS Drive. So just continue around EDS drive to the other side (the road curves around and comes back out) essentially two entrances...the first is where GPS will take you which is wrong...It is the second turn on EDs Drive. read more

I went to get an estimate to ship two car rims. I waited patiently while the fellow in front of me got his item shipped (at twice the price he had shipped it for the last time). We chatted amicably while he waited. When my turn arrived I gave the fellow all the particulars: weight, size and the name of the town to ship it. He said he needed the zip code and said there was no way to look it up (attitude). Told me there were lots of zip codes there and he needed to know which one. Funny that UPS can do that. I went to my car to get my phone and came right back and gave him the zip code. He then asked me for the info I just gave him. When asked, he said he didn't remember. Didn't he just put it in his computer? I was the only one there. He was the only one there. Not surprising given the lousy service I received. Attitude didn't help either. How Awesome! No longer does one need to worry about being home when that expensive package arrives or dealing with next day deliveries again and again, now you can just go here between 6pm-10pm to pick up your package that you missed! In all honesty, sometimes I wish they could just make that a choice when you ship, because we don't live in a world anymore where you can entirely trust the public around you not to take a package left by your door no matter where you live. You walk in with your missed delivery ticket and they get your package in a matter of minutes, it's so quick and easy. There is plenty of parking and the location is very easy to find. The GPS took us there without any hiccups and there was a sign clearly pointing to the building on the turn to go in. Simple Simple Simple. My package arrived days ago to this place but wasn't scheduled for delivery until Monday. I figured I would save them the hassle of putting it on the truck and delivering, and I could get it sooner by picking it up at the location. I called the corporate customer service line, they said I should be able to pick it up. I show up, the person at the front desk says they will not "download the truck", and I can't have my package despite it being there in the building for 2 days. Last night, I had a meltdown. I spent HOURS yesterday organizing two large boxes intended for a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa. Sorting, weighing, adding, subtracting, making lists, typing the lists into FedEx.com (items, numbers, weights, values, country of manufacture, etc.) and then FINALLY being able to print. Problem was, only one of the two boxes' paperwork would print. It was 9PM and the FedEx Ship Center closed at 10PM. After 20 minutes on the phone with a pointless "support" person from their 800-number, I bolted off to the ship center, praying that they could help me. I made it to the center with only about 9 minutes left to go before closing. I had been having the anxiety attack of all time before I got there and was really upset. The large caucasian gentleman behind the counter did not help my situation by saying things like, "It's almost 10 and the guy is leaving. He can't wait cause the plane can't wait. If he's late, it won't fly tonight." BUT, miraculously, there were three others there that were complete ANGELS ON EARTH. Cathy Granados and Samson Gudata were also working the counter. While Cathy, very quickly, tried her best to help me get my paperwork together for the second package, Samson was weighing, taping and labeling my boxes. Pedro Morales, the driver with the HEART OF GOLD responsible for taking the items from the ship center to the airplane, gave me a couple extra minutes, and thus saved my life. If not for those three people, my PCV would have been without supplies for her Art Camp next week for 30 village children and her personal supplies for the next 3 MONTHS. I will NEVER forget their kindness. P.S. I would like the grump to know that my items just departed ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE CEDEX a couple hours ago. I was waiting on a important package to get deliver 12/7/22 I understand things happen and got delayed to be deliver today 12/8/22, so I requested to be hold at this herndon va location since i really needed the package no later than 2pm, been monitoring the package and been calling the customer service phone number since this location does not have direct phone number requests has been input to hold I call and check with the customer service what's the status stated that the package just arrived at the herndon facilit, I told the customer service to make sure to put a note that I will pick up the package drove 35mins got there at 12:44pm they said they dont have the package stating that the driver had left I was furiou, crying my eyes out due to exhaustion of dealing with them since 7am and told me I can pick it up in 20 mins max on the next destination which Liberia Manassas va got at the location until know at 4:18pm I have not yet received the package so right now we don't have a present to give to our boss on the day we are having our holiday party what this has been the worst experience I have ever experienced if I could give this place a rating will be the worst of the worst ever. Dear Sir or Madame, My package is lost by fedex and I have now spent 3 hours on the phone calling 4 times and talking to 7 different people and no one is able to help me. I was just shipping the package 6 miles from a hotel in Washington DC to my apartment in Bethesda. At the hotel I was told I had to use an air label because they did not have ground the cheapest option which would have been 1 day. I saw that my package was then sent on Monday to Dulles VA and was being held hostage there. I called on Tuesday begging for it to be released but was told since I chose express saver it would not be released till Thursday for delivery. Thursday came and I got no package. Now when I call fededx I am put on hold and given the run around. I am even lied to once given an Austin TX number and told it was the Dulles, VA number. Furthermore the operators are refusing to allow me to speak to a manager and are not giving me their operator ID. I have no idea want to do to get my package back which i need asap. Please help. The staff are incredibly rude here. A man and a woman were working this morning when I walked in behind another young lady. When the young lady approached the counter, the woman completely ignored her and proceeded to engage in a loud conversation with her male coworker across the room. The woman simply hands her the receipt and gets angry stating that "she just snatched that out of my hand!" I was surprised the clerk would become so enraged considering she acted as though the customer didn't even exist. What was the customer supposed to do? Bow down and kiss your feet before taking the receipt? Good grief, woman, check yourself. read more

If I could give negative stars I would do that. This place has the most unbelievable management which asks for signature on every express packages, even when the sender does NOT require it. It has been a nightmare for people who work Mon - Fri because they are not willing to leave your packages at the door, and peeling off the signature area to prevent you from signing a package on door tag, then ask you to go all the way to their office to pick things up. Hey I paid the extra to get the service not the 'do it myself'! Now I choose Ground over Express because getting Express is a mission impossible for me. read more

This is the worst FEDEX location with unprofessional customer service people like Anna and lousy lazy drivers whom don't bother on delivery to condos much. I had a bad experience with them few hours ago for failure to deliver a package to my elderly mom and when I complained to the station manager JOHN REGAN he was no better and refused to honor what I paid for which Saturday guaranteed delivery. The location is about 8 miles away from the delivery address and John can easily resend the package, instead he suggested having my mom come with her ID prior to 5pm by taxi to pick the package else they will ATTEMPT with their lazy lying drivers to deliver again on Tuesday. I paid for one-day shipping for a brand new, expensive laptop that I purchased online. The package did arrive in one day; however, the physical handling of the package was horrendous. I arrived at the center to pick up the package. There were large red "FRAGILE" stamps all over the box. It was exceedingly clear that the contents of the box were fragile. That didn't seem to concern the employees in the slightest, though. The first employee THREW my package onto the conveyor belt. The second employee picked it up and SLAMMED it down on the counter right in front of me. This, in addition to being nearly impossible to understand and glaring at me from behind shifty eyes. This conduct is absolutely unacceptable. I did not pay to see my package so grossly mishandled--and right in front of my eyes, no less! read more

I was supposed to have a package delivered today. Got home, nothing is here. So I tracked it, and it says business was closed. I live in a condo community, no way they came to the correct address. I contacted FedEx, the agent said that "that was what the scanner said." I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to a "customer advocate," Edwin. He told me that if the driver feels it's unsafe, they will bring the package back. Only issue is, it's Friday, so they won't attempt it again until Monday! There was no attempt to delivery on the door. Apparently I can request a time for them to leave it at the door, on the website, but I had to talk to tech support which is now closed.
