She called my agent and said we had an accepted offer. We asked when can we do the inspection? She said Wednesday. Then she called last minute and changed it to Friday. We paid for the inspection on Friday. We told them we are sending over contracts. She said the seller's attorney is on vacation so they won't get the contracts till Monday. Sunday night at 7pm, she calls our agent and says if we don't go higher, they're giving the home to a cash buyer. We had one hour to decide if we should go higher. We ended up sending the contract on Monday with the ORIGINAL accepted offer. She called our agent and was belidergent claiming we changed the terms and they're backing out. They went with a cash offer. She encouraged her sellers not to pay us back for the inspection fee. The sellers were amazing people are knew that was wrong and did pay us. They also had no idea their agent demanded more money from them as they never requested more money from us. They said even with the cash offer, they still were going with us. Lisa not only lied to her clients and did not fulfill her fiduciary duties, she cheated us the buyers too. In the end the sellers did not go with the offer they wanted because of Lisa but the buyers also lost the house they were told they got and paid the inspection for. Let this be a cautionary tale for seller agents not to engage in transactions with Lisa, for buyers not to purchase a home under Lisa or use her as an agent.

This property management failed us at one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives despite full transparency and repeated efforts to communicate our circumstances in good faith. After a year and a half of paying our rent which was $4000 on time without issue my family experienced an unexpected and devastating loss of income. My wife lost her job and I became disabled which drastically altered our financial stability. At the same time we were caring for four children and actively working with DDS while trying to secure appropriate housing. We did not ask for special treatment or forgiveness of debt. All we requested was a reasonable thirty day extension to find safe and stable housing for our children. That request was met with indifference and a startling lack of humanity. The attorney representing Fairfield Townhouse Barber Hutter made it clear that the property required us to vacate the home within two weeks which placed our family out of housing a week before Christmas. The emotional weight of being forced to uproot children during the holidays while already navigating disability and financial loss is something no family should have to endure. It was not only disheartening it was dehumanizing. What makes this situation even more troubling is the contrast in how we were treated once hardship arose. Fairfield Townhouse had no issue collecting rent promptly when circumstances were stable. Yet the moment life changed and we asked for time rather than money the response was swift and unforgiving. There was no empathy no willingness to consider the broader impact on children and no acknowledgment of the reality that illness disability and job loss can happen to anyone. This experience revealed a system that prioritizes profit over people and procedure over compassion. Housing providers hold immense power over families lives and Fairfield Townhouse of Coram demonstrated a complete disregard for that responsibility. Families deserve to be treated with dignity especially during moments of crisis. Unfortunately that dignity was denied to us. I would strongly caution families especially those with children or medical vulnerabilities to carefully consider whether this is a community that will stand by you when life becomes difficult.

Saw a fence on Main St. in EH that was exactly what I wanted…read more After a bit of digging I learned that it was built by EH Fence and Gate. (I discovered that just about every fence on Main St is theirs.) Called for an estimate and the owner, Michael, came by to discuss the project. Michael is personally involved in every job, with the goal being perfection. They're very busy (four week wait at least), but definitely worth waiting for. They sent over a very friendly, capable crew that did a great job installing the fence. From the first post to the final paint touch-up they were a pleasure to have at my home. They were also open to some tweaks as their worked progress (i.e., swapped black for brushed stainless hardware, changed closing latch). Some may feel that EHF&G is little pricey, but I think you get what you pay for - great design, sturdy materials and a quality product. I'm very happy.

First let me say, they are capable of doing excellent work. The problem is getting them to show up…read moreand do it. The man who runs the show, Michael, is unprofessional, unreliable and dishonest. He initially quotes a reasonable estimate for work. He then hems and haws about scheduling, repeatedly setting dates and then not showing up, not answering calls or responding to emails. IF he ever finishes the job -- a very big if, as he left our project half-done and wasn't heard from again for 3 months -- the invoice he eventually sends is more than twice the estimate he quoted. In our case, he double-billed us for materials that we purchased ourselves and had delivered, at his request. He tried to charge us for them again, but with a mark-up over the price we paid to the supplier. When you request a statement outlining costs and services, he whines about how his time is too valuable for him to spend documenting his statements, and that you just have to trust him that you owe the amount he says you owe. It's difficult to trust someone who told you on 4 different occasions he would come to finish the job and never showed up at all. Michael left us with a half-finished project we then had to contract with a more reliable company to complete. In the meantime, we just had to live with the mess.
