In my opinion, I would not use this company. I called to inform this company of the problems with a fence they installed. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I spoke with a person named Daniel, and I informed him that the installation of a fence that Fence Direct, Inc installed (less than a year ago) was horrible-boards bowing away from the fence frame, fence frame coming loose, a little hole drilled in a piece of rock was that was used for the drop bolt, the gate did not close properly (have to force it closed). Although, I know the warranty ends when there is a change of ownership; however, regardless of a change of ownership, the installation was subpar, and since the fence was installed less that a year ago, in the vein of integrity, responsibility and company reputation, I feel they should repair the problems. Nonetheless, Daniel informed me that he can send someone out to give me a quote to repair the fence (more money to fix problems that, in my opinion, resulted from subpar work and should not be occurring). Daniel went on to say that nothing is free, which I thought was very rude, unprofessional, condescending and totally unnecessary as the nature of my call was to inform him of the terrible installation job and to see if they would take ownership of the supar work they performed. I feel that this company, as in this case, does not stand by the work they do, so use this company at your own risk. Buyer beware!! read more

I tried to refrain myself from posting a bad review for the past six months, but I want potential buyers to know what they are in for if they do business with fence direct. I originally signed my contract on March 31 of 2021. We ordered a white aluminum fence and was told that it was a special order so it would take approximately eight weeks to be installed. I certainly understand the hardships that the global supply chain is facing right now so I figured that that timeline was reasonable. Well, May turned into June and June turned into July. I was never contacted by fence direct with an update, I always had to reach out to them and every time I received the same response... We still don't have the materials and we're working on it. I never received alternative solutions or a definite install date. Finally in August, I threaten to cancel and miraculously I was told that an installer would be at my house within 48 hours to put in the fence. Great! Or so I thought... The installers missed two appointments. Unfortunately I work full-time and I don't have the luxury of waiting around all day for somebody who's not gonna show up. They finally arrived at the third scheduled appointment but low and behold, they had the wrong material! 5 months of waiting and they show up with the wrong material! They came with black aluminum instead of white aluminum.... do you know what they told me? That they could paint it! You cannot paint aluminum. Aluminum needs to be sandblasted and powder coated. If you paint it, the paint will simply just chip off. I was then told by the installers that they do not have the white aluminum in stock that I ordered back in March. Once again, I was not given any other solutions. My husband and I went onto their website and saw that they had a similar style in vinyl. Wonderful! Why didn't anybody explain this to us before? It really boggles my mind how terrible their customer service is once you sign the contract. They finally installed the fence the second week of September. However, the craftsmanship on the gate slats was shoddy and I was not happy with the execution. It looked very rough and unfinished. I contacted customer service and they sent somebody out yesterday, October 22, 2021. The gentleman told me that he was going to take the gate to fix it and he'll be right back. He took the gate and never returned! I've now been without a gate for over 24 hours and my dog is not able to use the yard being that he will run away. Just when I thought this fiasco was done, I feel like I'm right back at square one. I've been trying to contact the for the past 24 hours with no response. It's crazy tI feel like I'm in the twilight zone with this company... I really don't forsee them staying in business much longer if their customer service doesn't improve! read more

My landlord placed an order for a new vinyl fence on 11/17 (or around then) after hurricane Irma took down several pannels of our old wooden fence. We just needed to replace the whole thing, so thank you Irma. On 12/17, the survey team came out to mark the gas/electric pipes, but then they came again in 1/18. There was a delay caused by the shortage of fence pannels because everyone in Florida had their fences destroyed by the storm, so our order for the new fence had to be processed again. Then, finally on 2/18, Fence Direct called to schedule the work. On the scheduled day, the workers came, took down the old fence, hit a gas pipe (unmarked by the survey team), so they called TECO who sent a team immediately. My house looked like a scene from Steven Spielberg's ET. When the TECO crew finished, the workers resumed the job and very late in the night, I had a newly installed white vinyl fence. Hooray! It's been 2 months, the fence is still standing good, the door is working, nothing is tilted or fallen, and we've had some strong winds in those two months. No complains on my part. One more thing, I am happy of the measures the workers took when the pipe was punctured. Most people would try to cover the broken pipe, but they took the appropriate measures to ensure everyone's safety. That is a valuable attribute, if I may add. Would I recommend them? YES. read more

I initiated my contract March 30. They withdrew the deposit April 2. Received an email April 6th in regards to the permit... radio silence for the next 6 weeks. Mind you, I was quoted that my installation would begin mid May. I called May 18th and was immediately set an email about the status. Now, Im on edge because I advised them that I would not be in town June. I call again May 29th to inquire about the status, and was immediately met with apathy. After the receptionist finally found my account (after what seemed like forever), I decided to just cancel my contract. I informed her of my decision, and there was no preservation instinct from her end. There was no attempt to dust off her rusty customer service skills and try to retain me. The only response I got was "ok"... Yeah, I'm done. I'm back from vacation -- no emails regarding even the status of my broken contract. No deposit of funds in my account. PSA for those of you who have been trying to install a FENCE. We had a bigger fence job bid out to several companies and decided to go with FENCE DIRECT due to cost. They advertise 2-4 week install but said due to COVID it would be 2-6 weeks. We agreed and signed and payed deposit. Through out this time I checked and received confirmation that they would honor this deadline. Job was supposed to be done today, my wife and I took the day off work and made preparations. The Owner of the company a guy named "Dany" calls me late Saturday afternoon and tells me they will not be showing up as agreed. Today I call him back and he refuses to take my calls. Somone from the company calls me hours later and tells me they are cancelling the job and refunding my money. This is extremely disappointing as we were hoping to have the fence ready for Christmas for our boys to enjoy their Christmas present. They wasted our time, set us back months to begin the process once again with someone else and showed total lack of care and disrespect for our time. Our salesperson, Bradley, came home and told me it would take longer due to the materials during the Pandemic, but he was very kind. Nayeli, works in the office and always had a "smile in her voice" and kept me up to date on the status. Once Gerardo and Jorge Luis arrived to raise the fence, these people really knew what they were doing! They were great, very knowledgeable and friendly. Their customer service is horrible and they put their fence on top of the sprinkler heads in my backyard. They actually covered one of my sprinkler heads completely inside one of the posts!!!! Here is the kicker: I called them to let them know what happened and they won't even come out and do anything without charging me to move it. At the least they could've told me that the sprinkler head was in the way and allowed me time to move it but instead they were ignorant about it. installers regularly do shoddy work and have horrible attitude when it's pointed out, they will also talk poorly about you and call you names in Spanish for simply wanting the job done correctly I have caught them cursing me and my wife right in my face assuming I wouldn't understand them this behavior proceeds all the way to management. Altogether a awful experience so bad I called the install off I could no longer deal with the disrespect and foul mouth of their crew then one even had the audacity to ask me to hire him under the table to finish the job not knowing I overhead his conversation with a coworker about stashing stolen material to do repair work on the side. They often use old and used material and half a bag of concrete per post instead of a whole bag like I'm paying for. This place is running a scam and does bad fence work on top of that. They installed my fence last year by sending out a couple of guys that broke the hardy board on my house. They were paid in full on the spot, since the sleazy salesman made it clear that payment was due upon install. Months go by and they refuse to cash my check. They are horrible about communicating with customers. Next thing I know they add on 35% to the overall fee for non-payment, when they were in possession of my check the whole time and wouldn't cash it! It's their way of getting more money out of customers since they no one will refer them to friends because the fence work is junk. One year later and the gates are so wobbly they won't lock. I didn't even get to the come out and measure my fence part. The sales rep A called on Wednesday and I could not talk. I called him back on Thursday and he started screaming at me that he was driving on the freeway and did he expect me to have him stop in the middle of the street. I was trying to ask a simple question, could I text him and he continued to yell and scream at me. If you were on the road then don't answer the call let it go to voice mail. I hung up on him as I did not need to be yelled at to the point of almost in tears. Called the company the next morning and asked for a new sales person to contact me. Never heard back. I'm writing this review before we even get our fence. We closed on our house and had a sales rep come out the same day because we have 2 dogs and absolutely need to have a fence. Well it's been over 4 weeks since they took our deposit and still no fence! The sales rep told us the worst case it would be no more than 5 weeks to have the fence done but I don't see that happening. No one answers the phone or returns calls. They email when they want to. On their terms. They are claiming that the county is holding it up. I doubt it. It's a fence. I can't imagine they care that much. Last excuse was that the county needed proof that we actually owned the property. Who spends almost $6000 on a fence for property they don't own?! So far our experience with this company has been horrible! If we do not have a fence installed by Friday we will be taking our business elsewhere. Update: 3/2/18 After numerous phone calls we finally got them out to install the fence. We were guaranteed it was a one day job. So 2 guys show up and work for 5 hours then just leave without saying a word. We have fence posts but still no fence. My husband called to see what the heck was going on and was told they were scheduled to finish on Monday. After explaining to whom ever he was talking to that Monday was not what we were guaranteed they are coming back tomorrow to finish. We've had several neighbors stop by and ask what company we are using so we tell them Fence Direct and then tell them to use any other company. I would never recommend this company to my neighbors! 3/3/18 Installation day 2: Guys showed up this morning and starting working without saying a word to us. When I looked out the window to see what was going on I noticed that the bottom bar for the fence is not touching the ground. So my husband goes out to see what's going on and none of the bottom bars are touching the ground. Who wants a fence that doesn't touch the ground?! He's now trying to get them to fix that problem and make them understand that the top of the fence also has to be level. By the end of the day the fence is still it done. Now the one day job has turned into 4 days to complete assuming they actually complete it Monday like they say. Also, there are a lot of pieces that are scratched up and have big gouges in them. The product seems cheap. Update 3/12/18 Over the weekend when the sprinklers ran we noticed a hole starting in the ground at the bottom of the gate post. My husband digs in to see what's going on only to discover that the main sprinkler line has be busted. I can only think this was done when they were digging the hole for the fence post. Not only did they install damaged product, but now we find out they actually damaged our property and no one ever said a word to us. I find it hard to believe that you wouldn't notice hitting a purple pipe in the ground. Manny, the manager, told us that he would send someone to fix it, but of course that hasn't happened. At this point I only wish we would have never used this company. It's a never ending nightmare! Update: The sprinkler has been repaired. We were not told it was fixed until 2 days later when my husband called to see why the repair guy was running late. We had Fence Direct install a 5 ft high black aluminum fence around our pool. After we paid the deposit, it took about a month for permitting and the materials to arrive. They updated us throughout. The install only took 4 hours and they were careful to avoid my lawn sprinkler lines. The fence is beautiful and very sturdy. Overall a good job! read more

It's been 3 weeks since the permit was approved and utilities located. They finally scheduled the installation but on the installation they call midday that they don't have the materials so it will take another week before they install the fence. So far the count will be 8 weeks for the fence to be installed. Now, I don't believe them, they've given me the run around. Terrible company. I really wish I had read the reviews before going with this company. We were scheduled for our install today (11 weeks after paying our deposit). I received a call this morning saying the installer would be here this afternoon due to needing to finish another job this morning. I called for an update at 1 and was told they'd call me back after checking in with the installer. After hearing nothing, I called back at 4 and was told that the product wasn't ready in the warehouse and we would not be getting our fence today. This is after it took at least 5 calls to them to get a date scheduled for today several weeks ago. There is absolutely no excuse for the lack of communication and empty promises. There's no reason that our materials should not be ready nearly three months after taking our deposit. I'm currently waiting on a call back from the "supervisor." We'll see how that goes. So glad I took a day off of work for nothing! Update: Apparently our materials were ready and they don't know what happened. It's too late to do anything today so they offered to come "first thing tomorrow." After asking what time that is, I was told 11am. I don't know in what world 11am is "first thing". This means taking another day off of work to sit around and hope they show up. Manny was kind enough to insult me with $100 off my fence. I've asked to speak to the owner. When I did not hear from him I call again to see if maybe they had my number wrong, No they had it right. The person on the phone told me that she could give me Mike's number so I could call him, "excuse me?", I should not have to call the sales person. Poor service LIARS and BAD work!!! PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES I POSTED of their work!!!!! Make sure to scroll down all the way in the pictures section at top!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!! THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS....look at the other posts!!!!! Salesperson did NOT know what they were doing. Salespersons advised us to move the fence installation to 2 feet in from our property line. I trusted what he was telling me to do was the correct information. The salesperson did NOT tell me to make sure that I check where the sprinklers were located nor did the company. In the process of installation, FENCE DIRECT EMPLOYEES who came to install the fence cut our neighbors cable lines. After that, the salesperson called and said I did NOT pay when I clearly sent in the payment after the job was done. He then called back and said "oh, they did get your payment." I checked to see if the fence had been properly installed and it was NOT. Some of the nails were not even going through the wood. The nails were not flushed down either in some parts of the fence. I recently found out that by moving in 2 feet from our property line...that some of our sprinklers were NOT inside the fence, but outside of the fence. I only found out after having talked to my neighbor recently. I tried to call them to resolve this issue, but they refused since it was not under warranty anymore. I told the owner that I would like the side of the fence fixed to where the sprinklers are back on our side and he said no and that they are not in charge of the sprinklers. I told the owner that this is what the salesperson advised and I have no need to water someone else's lawn nor would I know if the sprinkler needs repair in the future since it is NOT ON MY SIDE OF THE FENCE. I would have NEVER agreed to moving back 2 feet if I had known our sprinklers would end up on the outside of the installed fence. I trusted their advice and if I could go back..I would have NOT used this company! They DO NOT work with you even though they did a bad job with the installation and giving horrible advice!! Great quality and reasonable pricing couldn't be happier, my kids love having the yard fenced in and the dog doesn't hate it either.

A recent fence install was completed in an orderly fashion. It took the two-man crew the better part of the day to remove what remained of an old wooden fence and footings, install four vinyl panels, one double-swing gate, and a single gate. The work was done accurately. There was a bit of a delay in the clean-up, but with patience, and multiple calls to the office, that too was finally completed. Anthony (sales rep) was a driving force in getting this project completed within schedule and on budget. There are now several other fence segments that need replaced and I'll be sure to call this company first for an estimate and install schedule. read more

I was very disappointed. Their ad says that you can get a100 foot fence for $1799 which is $17.99 per foot. My estimate for a 21 foot fence was $1,275 which is $60.71 per foot. The salesman said the job was under their minimum and he could not seem any less interested if he tried. I told him I though the price was unfair and misleading based on their ad. RUN away from this company! I called a few companies for quotes to fence my side yard. Fence Direct wasn't the lowest quote I received but sales rep Rick was personable and convincing so we decided to go with him. My only hesitation that was the fence was to be installed 3-4 weeks from date of deposit. I wanted it installed ASAP. Rick assured me that I would probably move up in the que since I didn't have a homeowners association to deal with. I was scheduled for 8/9. First issue is that they hired a utility locating service to mark my utilities in my yard. Yet no one communicated that to me neither Rick, or the office. The locating service didn't announce or ask if it was ok to be in my yard. Just started marking it up. Not very courteous or good service. Fence was scheduled to be installed 8/9. No one called to confirm or to let me know what time. I emailed Rick the 8/8 to confirm and ask what time. He emailed me back on 8/9 to let me know that he confirmed our install with his office and they would be here in the morning. 8/9 comes and by 12, no one showed up. Called Rick and he said that he spoke to office at 8:30am and they had materials on truck but there was 1 install ahead of me. By 1pm no one had showed up. Called office myself and was told they were on the way. No one showed up until 4pm. When the installer showed up, he had questions for me however he did not speak 1 word of english. Fence was installed by 8/10. However there are large gaps between fence and ground -my dogs can get out which was the whole purpose of the fence. The fence was also installed too close to the trees. I called the office to let them know on 8/10 and was told that I would get a call back. I never received a call back. I have called 4 times. I have emailed and called my sales rep Rick. He claimed it would be resolved on 8/12. It is now 8/17 and they have not rectified the situation. Rick only cared to get a sale and move on. He has not taken care of the customer and clearly the company doesn't care as I cannot get them to return my calls. Communication and customer service from this company is HORRENDOUS.
