A friend once left her scarf there and he saved it for me to return to her. The food is excellent!!! I've never had a bad meal. Maybe a sloppily dressed salad once but it still tasted good. Only thing I wish they had mashed potatoes instead of just the house fried potatoes or spaetzle The interior is especially pretty during the holidays when it is decorated. I started with a fried lotus root with pork, which apparently is a Wunan specialty and was delicious. I then had a poached cod with bok choy and beluga lentils (see photo). My friend Charles had a duck leg which was equally great (other photo). Had a glass of Muscadet with the cod, and Charles had a Languedoc with his duck. I had the US Entrecôte steak and you get to see all the meat in a cabinet and it looked great with a nice bit of marbling through it. I would probably estimate it at a 7-8 for marbling. I asked for it medium rare. When the steak arrived it was cooked just the way I like it and it was so easy to cut through. I ordered a pepper sauce to go with it and unfortunately for me the sauce was not peppery enough and lacked a bit of flavour. I am used to bold and intense pepper sauces and this one unfortunately for me did not meet the mark. Hence the 4 stars. The rosemary kartoffelen I had with the main was delicious and the spinach side was also very good, I would happily come back for steak here anyway and perhaps try a different sauce or just with a bit of hot English mustard if you can get such things (must remember to ask).
