I've been coming to Furguson Family Medicine for serval years now. I first saw Dr.Furguson and he is the nicest guy always asking how my kiddos are doing and myself. My insurance changed so my provider changed, I now see Dr.Annette, and she's also amazing, always checking in on my kids and I making sure I have everything I need. Even though I don't see Dr.Furguson anymore he still always greets when we run into each other in the office. Staff is always helpful and friendly and I'm always in and out. If there's ever a new issue to arise with my health they insure I have all the info I need or help to the fullest. That's why I continue coming back! i have been a patient here for several years and always have an efficient, pleasant experience with practitioners who clearly understand and respect patients' rights. The new lab service on site has technology that requires fewer tubes of blood, which means less time to endure the blood draw. Got the runaround for about a month and then another higher bill. they must of forgotten to charge us for reading the lab resorts over the phone. They are pretty evil. I kept in contact with them. They canceled one doctors appt. I was 10 min late. My other doctor was concerned of my levels testosterone. Papers filled out. Traveled 65 miles both times 10 minutes late they said, too bad you can't you can't come. I'm pretty sad, they were that heartless. read more

I had scheduled just an annual physical or exam online trying to find a new primary care doctor since the last didn't take my new insurance, walked in and checked in mind you I made this appointment a few weeks in advance and I was no where on the schedule, luckily they were able to fit me in but the appointment should always have notes or exam type (being I work in the medical field myself) regardless of just popping in or not. After waiting in the lobby for an hour with my 4 year old they take me back. The doctor that was on probably residency or something comes in first, I could tell he was nervous, I'm trying to explain how I'm feeling and everything and he's just looking at me like I'm an idiot, proceeds to check my ears and digs the thing right down the bottom of my ear canal, I've had on and off discomfort since that visit. Then he leaves the room to get the main doctor which to my understanding should have the run down before he comes into the room but nope, when he came into the room he said "so what are you here for." Then a couple months go by and I'm almost out of my prescription that was prescribed to me at my last doctor that was always generous and awesome. I called to get a new prescription at this place and the receptionist could not do much but transfer me to the prescription department or whatever they call it in which no one answered so I hung up and proceeded to call again only to get the same results, I left my info and waited about two hours and nothing so I called back multiple times and finally was able to get it taken care of after a few frustrated phone calls. Then my prescriptions ready and they only prescribed me one bottle and no refills, given that my last office prescribed me three bottles and three refills for the year which was very convenient for me. So now I'm frustrated because I have to go through this whole thing all over again. This was all my first experience with this office and I absolutely hated it. So I will be seeking a new primary care doctor. read more

1. Mis-diagnosed my pneumonia (went in with severe respiratory problems and coughing) and gave me antibiotics for a yeast infection instead, resulting in a costly ER visit 2 weeks later. 2. Had to go to the ER because, apparently, these folks don't do on-call during the weekends. What kind of doctors simply close up shop on the weekends without an on-call physician? Not the quality of service I'm used to as a patient who pays an exorbitant amount for doctor's fees. 3. Jan 2017 wife has miscarriage. Jan 2018 we are trying again. Wife thinks she is pregnant, so she goes to get a thorough blood test done (we have precautions to take due to blood type). Instead of giving her the (requested) extensive blood test, gives her the cheap one. Then, in his most asinine move yet, tells my wife she is pregnant, laughs, and then says he is just kidding. My wife called me crying after this encounter. ***The real kicker is that she IS pregnant and WAS when he performed the test***. The first 2 points were merely to show the pattern of sub-par healthcare performance on their part. THIS is why I will never go to them again. read more

It's hard to find medical professionals these days as compassionate as he is. Poorly run practice. I went here once last year, with the hopes of making it my primary care, since it's right by my house. But this office takes EVERY opportunity to make you want to go elsewhere. The front office simply doesn't call back when you leave voicemails to be scheduled for regular check ups. If there's an issue with your billing, good luck trying to get through to them, or for them to care about your problem with insurance, that their incompetent staff caused. The doctor's are okay, but aren't personable, and clearly don't care about the way their whole office functions. I'm truly surprised they are in business. I went in for an ear ache and things went well for the most part. They drew blood and told me that it wouldn't cost me anything which is the only reason I allowed it. About a month later I got a form from my insurance showing me they didn't cover $1200 of the tests this office ordered. I called their billing department and they told me the lab writes off whatever the insurance doesn't cover and not to worry about it. Fast forward ten months and I got a bill in the mail from the lab directly charging me over $1200. I have attempted to call this offices billing department at least ten times and they never answer nor return my calls when I leave a message. This is a dishonest practice please protect yourself. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews as I know it can hurt a business. However, I feel I would be doing future patients a disservice by not sharing my experience. I scheduled a new patient appointment specifically requesting a flu and strep test. Over the phone they informed me they could complete these tests same day. Come to find out they don't do same day tests and had to send to a lab which took 48 hours to receive test results and since I went in on a Thursday the results wouldn't be back until Monday. When I asked what am I to do over the weekend I was told by Dr Ferguson "I hope you feel better". I was told the office would call me with my results the following Monday.....4 weeks later I hadn't received the results and had to call 3 times in order for anyone to get back to me. I also received a $248 lab bill after they told me they chose a specific lab in order for it to NOT cost me more than $100. Overall, awful customer service from the front office to the office managers front and back: Cynthia, Destiny and Sabrina, poor communication and I truly didn't feel they cared to try and help me or see my point of view. They could benefit from training in customer service and clear communication. Also, my husband left a message to schedule an appointment over 3 weeks ago and never received a call back. I asked for Dr Ferguson to call me which I know Dr's typically don't do, however, I thought he would like to hear how his staff is handling patients and I was told, "he won't be calling you, he doesn't do that". I'm not sure how they keep patients, but we most certainly will not be returning. read more

I went in to get my first ever photo facial and laser hair removal with Alexa. Right after the photo facial my skin had a healthy pink glow, and now it's been a few weeks and I can tell my sun damage has lightened up a lot. I can't wait for my next one! As for the laser hair removal... the results we AMAZING! I have barely had to shave my legs and I have only had one treatment! Consumer beware. When I first went to this office it seemed pretty cool. It's close to my house in Mesa, my first appointment was scheduled relatively quickly and I got in and out in a normal amount of time. Dr. Fergusson seemed compassionate to the things I went there to discuss and I thought I had found my new forever doctor. Since that first appointment, my experiences with this office have been this side of ridiculous. The second visit was a follow up to review the results of some tests and x-rays that were ordered on the first visit. I didn't wait in the waiting room very long but I sat in the examination room for over an hour. The review of the results took maybe 10 minutes if that. One of my prescriptions is for high blood pressure. It's an auto filled prescription with the pharmacy. After a few months, the pharmacy told me that I needed to call the doctor and have the prescription renewed. I called and left messages but no one ever called me back. I finally left a message explaining that the pharmacy would not give me any more medication without a prescription and would they please call it in for me. The pharmacy called me the next day and told me that I could pick up my medication, but that it was only for a month supply. I made an appointment to go in and see them face to face. When I got there they didn't charge me my co-pay. Hmm...? They took my blood pressure, temperature and all the normal things then said they wanted to do some routine bloodwork. They took the blood in the office (which I found odd since they sent me to Lab Corp or Sonora Quest the last time). They asked me if I had any health changes since my last visit and gave me a new prescription for my blood pressure. The blood was sent out and I was told that I should probably call the office in about 10 days for the results. I called and left messages for someone to call me back but it is now a couple months later and I still don't know the results of the blood tests. This week I received a bill from the Kingman Regional Medical Center (which, by the way, is 206 miles from their office in Mesa) for almost 1500.00! I have great insurance and I have NEVER paid for routine bloodwork. I called the Kingman Medical Center, she told me that as far as she could tell the cost should have been covered 100% by my insurance and that I needed to contact Cigna. I contacted Cigna who told me that the doctors office coded the tests in a way that looked like it was something other than "routine bloodwork". Cigna checked the codes for the blood draw that were requested on that date and said that if Lab Corp had done this blood draw, it would have cost me a grand total of $46.78. When I called the Ferguson Mesa office to try to figure this out and selected the billing dept. option, the message told me to call another number for their billing dept. When I reached a representative there, she told me that in order to straighten this out, the Kingman Medical Center had to call her in regards to this bill. I called the Kingman Medical Center again and asked her to call the Ferguson billing office. She said she would make the call but I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling. She didn't ask me for the number to the billing office or my number to follow up with me about it. I have a feeling that I am going to be on the phone a lot in the coming weeks trying to resolve this royal-run-around. Integrity in business means a lot and the lack of it speaks volumes. If I don't feel that my doctor has my best interests in mind, both health wise and financially when they are ordering medications or tests and they can't even find the time to follow up with phone calls, then I need to go and seek out someone who can. read more

in my 59 years of experience, this is the worst office i have ever experience. First, they never return phone calls, ever. An example, I have knee problems, on their website they mention "joint injections" so one of the reasons I went to see them was for my knees. They sent me to have x-rays. I went back in for a follow-up, they confirmed I have DJD (degenerative joint disease) and that I would be a good candidate for the injections but they had to get approval from my insurance company. OK....so a month goes by, not word so I send a note through their patient portal. Another month goes by, not word so I send another message, nothing. So I call, leave a message for a medical assistance. Still nothing. Another few weeks go by I call again. this goes on for over 6 months. Then I called and explained that I had sent messages through the portal as well as left phone messages and no one has called. They get a gal on the phone and she tell me my insurance declined the injections. I ask why. She said because you hadn't reached your deductible. It happens that I work in insurance and Insurance company's do not decline procedures because you haven't hit you deductible. So I said exactly that. So then she tells me because the injections were so expensive and I hadn't hit my deductible that they didn't I want to do it. I then said first of all, don't you think that should be my decision whether or not I want to proceed or not since I'm the one paying for it? And, don't you also agree that someone should have called me after my first attempt to get an answer? The whole thing was just plan absurd. They are also horrible at responding to the pharmacy for refills. The meds I take are not narcotics...and again and again I would have to call and leave messages just to get them to respond...just unbelievable. Save your money and find another doctor...these guys give medicine a bad name. read more

Dr. Carl Ferguson is the best family physician I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient . I have never waited longer than 5 to 10 minutes in the waiting room. Every time he comes in the room he greets me with a kind hello , smile and handshake and makes me feel like he actually cares about every health concern I may have. He is thorough and cares. He is a family man and very family oriented and is always kind to my children. I've been a patient for over 5 years and would never go anywhere else for my monthly check-ups as well as any other medical need I may ever have. We just moved here from Idaho, and we have been looking for a family medical doctor in our area. It is very clean, and very new. We only waited for about 5 mins. A nightmare.... That is the only word that accurately describes this practice. But I'm going to go ahead and list some other adjectives to provide further enlightenment. Completely and utterly disorganized, there support staff drop the ball on everything, nothing ever gets done in a timely manner, I'm talking weeks of phone calls to get them to refill a medication. They take no accountability for anything. I was so frustrated with this issue month after month that at my last straw I go in and in person ask for my meds to be refilled because I had left several voice mails with no response. They treated me like I was a drug addict because I was frustrated with their ineptitude. They told me I had to be seen to get my meds refilled despite having just been in for that exact reason and they just forgot to do it so I had to go take them by the hand and show them how to check their charts and make a phone call to the pharmacy. Then they made me take a drug test, despite never having a drug history and because they didn't believe that their doctor forgot to write down in his notes from 2 weeks previous that my main reason coming in was to get my meds refilled. The other kicker here is that none of my medications were opioids or benzos. My prescriptions have been the same dose and same meds I have been on for 2 years. Then they finally let me talk to the doctor and after I reminded her of our exact conversation she was like "oh I forgot that .... I must have forgotten to write it down...." I was livid. This little story is one of the very few examples of their complete and utter lack of competence, professionalism, clinical skills, and decency. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like it was a bad STD infested den of thieves. read more

Looking for a Doctor that cares? Keep looking! My husband and I have been loyal patient's for nearly two years and we are now on the hunt for a new provider. Patient care and Staff professionalism is at an all time low. There are staff members that identify themselves as "Nurse", but they don't know how to spell Rheumatoid or what a CPAP machine is. His office has become the hot spot for people in search of their next fix. They have designated walk in hours, but people walk in all day long. I waited 2 hours for my appointment because walk in patients were treated before me. When asked to leave a urine sample, I was forced to place my specimen in a basket along with 6 other specimen samples (Three of which appeared to be tampered with). That was disgusting, in my opinion. His compassion has escaped him and he doesn't appear to be interested in diagnosing nor treating actual health concerns. He is quick to write scripts and that is the main reason for his ever growing popularity. Its unfortunate to witness an establishment go under. I have referred several friends and coworkers to McKellips Family Medical and to Ferguson Family Medical as well. They will be disappointed as these two offices no longer stand up to the reputation they once did. The original staff was amazing, Cynthia, Gigi, and Sabrina....but they too have lost the sparkle .Dr Ferguson has brought in some back up, Nurse Practitioner Cortney Thompson, she is amazing and I hope she advances to a point where she is no longer associated with this poor establishment. I would definitely continue to see her in a different office. The other new staff members (very young and lacking experience & social skills) are nothing but jokers wearing scrubs. Until next time!!
