We had a previous tear off, meaning we have single layer roofing. I was told by rep that double layer roofing is no longer acceptable In Michigan. So we had to do another tear off. I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I called roofing due to possible leak in upstairs back bedroom.

After research I found out that do,not manufacturer there shingles. We went with roof pros and saved 3000 on our roof . The install was great and the clean up was like they where never there. While it was 30' up, no materials were required (a handful of nails), so it was a little pricey for a ~30 minute repair. But it had to be done, a man's time IS worth something and my days of getting that high on a ladder ended a few years ago after I lost my leg (I wear a prosthetic now). Our immediate job of laundry room remodel was quickly quoted and scheduled. Tim talked through the options and was very supportive of giving recommendations. Knowing our subfloor had leveling issues and was creaky we decided best was to go for full tile floors instead of keeping laminate / vinyl. We had subfloor work, new porcelain tile, beadboard accent wall, and new thresholds by R&R 360. We were given the freedom to choose our floor tiles locally. We were trying very hard to be ready for the home to go on the real estate market in March. Neighborhood keep us abreast of the weather/schedule and came and did the job as soon as the weather allowed. They kept both the integrity of the roof and the need to meet a time deadline in mind and really helped us out. We are homeowners not roofing professionals, it was nice to know that they've been in Ann Arbor for so long, to know that they are well thought of in the community. We were able to trust them in their pricier advice. And for the scope of the work I feel the price was fair. A roof costs money, doing a roof the right way costs money but at least I know we paid a fair price for a job well done. They offer a long warranty and it's for the roof not for the owner so it transfers to new owners easily. And we know from conversations with multiple real estate agents that the warranty is solid! They were also happy to coordinate with our painter so he could do some painting work along side and in conjunction. I used Billy White Roofing for installation of a new roof on my home. I was extremely extremely…read moredisappointed. I am not a roofer, but within a week of the work being completed, I went up on my roof to review/inspect their work more closely. I identified ~ 10 - 15 exposed/low nails, and other issues. I asked them to send someone back out to look at it. He ended up identifying 11 different and fairly major issues that needed to be addressed in addition to the low nails (issues with rake edges, disappearing beauty row, missing/improperly installed flashing, vents that were not nailed down/caulked, etc.). The two workers that came out to inspect and repair the roof were great (Curtis and Ben), but there is no reason a brand new roof should have so many issues (two workers were here for an entire day stripping and fixing portions of the roof). In one of the areas where the flashing/shingles were improperly installed (see photo) there was already standing water observed beneath the flashing/shingles. The issues have supposedly been "fixed" (although the shingle lines and ridge vents are still not straight and look terrible up-close), but again, absolutely no reason for a new roof to have issues in the first place. They also did not follow minor requests (e.g., I asked them to not park their heavy trailers on my new concrete driveway across the street and to not park on the neighbors lawn - and they did both). They were supposed to repair my roof on a Monday - although it did rain in the morning, they never showed and never called. I had to follow-up multiple times to get an update and they didn't come back out until that Friday. No discount, extended warranty, etc. was given.
