I had a small leak in my roof. I called and Tim came the next day on time. He was so nice and flexible when I explained I was going to be gone too early. He assessed the problem and fixed it immediately. He took pictures and sent them to me so I could see the damage. He was very concerned about putting a ladder in my flower bed and took extra care. Out of so many companies to choose from it is hard to know who to select. I was very happy with Guns & Hoses. Some people had to wait months to get the work done on their homes. I only waited a few weeks. They have to get the materials and put you on the schedule. Three weeks is great from how long I have heard other people have to wait with other compaines. The price was fair and reasonable. I have learned the cheapest isn't always the best. The work was done by a great friendly crew in one day. They contacted my insurance company and took care of that. We had water pouring in our master bedroom closet at 1am, & with our roof only being 3 years old we thought it might be the chimney. So we called Guns & Hoses to see if they could help. Tim came out the next day & spoke to me about what it could be. He explained all the costs associated with his visit. He was polite & very knowledgeable! We went up on the roof & he actually found multiple problems with the roof that was done by another company that I would have never known to look for! He educated me on where to look for additional issues & how to communicate with the original roofing company so that we can get it fixed correctly. He was so nice & helpful, and now I feel much more prepared for when I have to discuss these issues with the original roofing company so we can get the problems fixed. He also did a temporary fix for me so that when it rains I wouldn't have water pouring down in my closet again. The man we spoke to gave us great advice and spent a long time talking to us about our building's roof. I appreciated their time and their willingness to help us even though we ended up not having them out because we determined that we would need a whole new roof due to what we are going to do to the building. They are VERY knowledgeable and straight forward. They could have come out and charged us, but they didn't. This shows that they do things right way and have integrity. I talked to Tim at 9:30 and he was at the house at 10:30. He was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He immediately began troubleshooting and assessed what the potential problems were. Tim patched several spots on the shingles, patched a potential leak in the skylight and also put silicone around the skylight. Fair prices. Tim provided useful information and is a personable businessman. I am a repeat customer - he explains that he cannot provide a warranty on roof repairs because there could be a variety of causes not evident on inspection. His explanations are sensible and focused on the problem. Last year he provided a fix for a leak around one of my roof vents that worked. This year he fixed a fan vent leak. I know from his reasonable explanation that it may not work, but the idea was to do something, maybe prevent further damage, and take it from there. I called in in the morning about a small roof leakage and Tim showed up before lunch time. It wasn't a big project but he still spent time with me going through all possibilities that could have caused the leakage and fixed all minor issues he could discover during the visit. He is very knowledgeable and attends to details. Knowing that I'm a first time home owner he even quickly examined the exterior of my house and pointed out places that needed immediate attention. He also shared experience with me on how to find reputed contractors which always troubled me and I greatly appreciated. Tim did a great job on my roof repair. He showed up within 24 hours as promised, and was able to fix my leaking roof the same day. I had a bad, bad roof, complications in getting legal things cleared up with the house and the other day I had my bedroom ceiling cave in on me. Tim came out within an hour and put a very nice-looking patch up to try to keep more water and damage from occurring (which is working) and the full-roof quote I asked him for is very fair and uses quality materials. They were willing to come give me an estimate even though I wasn't local and spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with me discussing my issue while offering support and suggestions. I'm sorry in all the excitement I don't remember the name of the person I spoke with but he was very knowledgeable while being courteous and patient (something you don't find much of these days). This is a review on customer service. I called a couple of days ago because I did not realize that they are now focused on mostly roof repairs and not full roof installations - I needed a new roof. Even though there was zero chance they could get my business, the kind gentleman on the phone spent at least 20 min giving me advise on multiple things: from why it is not recommendable to go with storm-chasers to the brand and type of shingles to the way airflow should be guaranteed. I can't speak to the actual work they perform, but they appear to be very knowledgeable and definitely willing to do their best for their customers. read more
