I take care of my elderly Grandparents in Elk Rapids. About ten years ago they had their wood fireplace replaced with a gas fireplace. As I did not live with them then and because they are both in their 90's we were unsure who originally installed the gas fireplace. We began having issues with it last night so I was calling around to try to schedule someone to come out and have a look at it. I decided just to go down the list and started with Ferguson's. I was greeted by the most unbelievably rude person I have ever had the displeasure of "doing business" with. When I informed this "gentleman" of the issues we were having and that I was unsure who installed it he replied with, "What kind of car do you drive?!?!" Dumbfounded by the question I hesitantly answered, "Umm...a Subaru?" He then curtly responded with, "WELL WOULD YOU TAKE YOUR CAR TO A CHEVY DEALER?!?!" Stunned I said, "Well no..." AFTER biting my head off he THEN decided to ask for the name and checked the records to see if they were the ones that did the instillation. They were not and I must say, I am thanking my lucky stars for that! I have worked in the service industry for 15 years and if I EVER treated a patron that way I would have lost my job instantly. I've been in here a few times getting parts for an old tractor I've been fixing up and most of the time it seems like you get a what do you want kind of thing at the parts counter, but it's not everyone. They mounted two 12" agricultural tires for me a while back and charged around $60 but never bothered replacing the probably 30 year old valves stems in the rims. No leaks but silly. read more

Had trans seal pop out on 2yr old honda hs1332 snowblower.should have been under warranty.Ferguson's charged me 86$ stating I overtightened the hydraulic fluid plastic cap.I have had this blower 3winters.bought new from Ferguson's. Never had this problem.they state have had other customers with same problem. No where does it say in the manual or on the machine Do not overtighten! Over the years I've made a few purchases from Ferguson's Lawn Equipment. Each time has been a good experience. The products are good but the customer service is excellent. In the fall 2015 I worked with the staff to purchase a gas fireplace stove. While in the store I was treated seriously. They went out of their way to help troubleshoot fitting problems with the piping and were always responsive to my questions. Even though it was a difficult installation for my husband and I, they didn't show frustration and continued to be interested in our project. As long as you are a quality customer looking to make an honest purchase, anyone would be hard pressed to find customer service with the knowledge and experience found at Ferguson's. Ferguson serviced my gas fireplaces. Unfortunately, one of the fireplaces only continued to work for 2 weeks. Ferguson charged me $95 for a second service call and discovered the problem was that they failed to properly set the pilot on their first visit. Ferguson doesn't stand behind its work. read more
