The worship consisted of traditional hymn-style songs with a reverent and structured tone. The music created a reflective atmosphere that encouraged congregational participation and focus on biblical truths. During my time the sermon was about rediscovering Jesus's true identity and rekindle your relationship with the Good News of Christ. The Pastor shared his own journey of progressing away from a rewards-and-punishments type of thinking towards understanding God's love at a deeper level than he had before. The pastor explained that God's love gives you and I salvation and hope for everyone on this planet, that we are God's beloved children and he also used Matt. 13:31-32 to help us see how Jesus' kingdom continues to grow and develop all over the Earth. One area of the sermon that I found to be of disagreement or of Biblical inaccuracy was how the pastor viewed the Bible at times as a political document rather than as a Christ-centered document; however, the overall message was clearly about Christ.

The worship is singing In hymms and worshiping christ together with the lyrics on the Order of Service/Bulletin they give you When you enter. After Service the people were very warm and kind. Helpful and giving guidance esspecially to a new vistor to the church. The REV. Tommy Myrick was great and preached from the word well. overall the time I was there was awesome and would highly recommend going if you are seeking for fellowship and being rooted in the word.

I have spent a year reaching out to them concerning the lack of lighting that leads to conjuring. I even offer to pay for the light to be replaced. I am constantly ignored or lied to when they say it will be taken care of. It has got to a point where I have had to get the police involved. What happened to loving your neighbors?

We did not have children when we joined, but were most excited at the youth programs - they are amazing, and now that we do have children, who are becoming of age to participate in the programs, we are even more pleased with our choice to join this fantastic church. Many were welcoming and inspiring. But when we landed at St. John's, we found a strong welcoming spirit and commitment to helping others. We were approached and welcomed warmly but not intrusively. We are continually impressed with the amount and depth of this congregation's commitment to social justice and to actively helping their neighbors and each other. We were not the only new comers to St. John's. Other couples and families have recently joined this strong congregation. On a weekly basis we find the words of our Pastor Beth Taylor and associate Scott Steiner helpful as we go out to live our lives in the real world, We highly recommend St. John's as a community for those new to the area and those looking for a congregation of interesting, inspiring, and committed neighbors and friends.
