BP Express Shopping

I've been using this BP station weekly for gas, car wash, air, vacuum. Today after putting air in…read moremy tyres, my hands were dirty. I asked the clerk if we could use the restroom to wash up. The same clerk that sees me nearly weekly said they had none. Then i asked if I could use his sink and said it's not allowed. I said it's right there in eyesight, I just need to wash my hands. He said it's not allowed. I considered it very poor customer service that a simple exception to whatever "rule" is in place to disallow someone to clean their hands. I swore I would no longer take my business to this store. The clerk said it doesn't matter, no exceptions. I cannot give my business to a store that cannot extend a simple courtesy to a loyal customer. I will never return to this store again.

As far as large supermarkets go, this is at the pinnacle of achievement. Let's ignore the fact that…read morethe shop has destroyed local business and annihilated the main street in Corstorphine and review it in comparison to other giant supermarket outlets. It has everything. Clothes, fridges, celeriac, bin bags, spectacles, dentist, bank, bakery, fishmongers, coffee place, toys, booze, frozen food, petrol, Gaviscon.... The list goes on, almost endlessly. And it's open 24 hours. Staff are usually really helpful and always manage to point me in the right direction for whatever weird little item I've come in for. I realise it's Tesco, but for what it does it does it incredibly well. No wonder this brand is taking over the UK, street corner by street corner.

It is often thought that this petrol, and diesel, station has the cheapest fuel in Edinburgh…read morebecause of the amount of taxis which can be seen there at any time of day or night. Apparently, this is not the case. I have it on great authority, another taxi driver, that it's popular because drivers can sit and blether there. This other taxi driver called them fisherwomen, which I'm pretty sure has nothing to do with halibut. [EDIT: The cheapest fuel in Edinburgh, apparently, is at Morrisons & Sainsbury's who are in constant competition with each other ~ source, the same taxi driver.]
