It takes children from all over northern Edinburgh and its feeder primary schools are Bonnington, Fort, Victoria, Wardie and Trinity primaries. The school has a strict uniform policy which states pupils must always wear a tie and must also wear black trousers and jumpers. Also, shoes must be black. The school offers a variety of subjects within its departments including Maths, English, Science, Geography, History, Art, Home Economics and Craft Technology and Design. The school has excellent facilities including well equipped departments for CDT and Home Economics and also has a swimming pool. There are also many after-school activities offered by the school including Cookery, Homework Club and Art Group. The school is a popular one in Edinburgh and the fact the children by and large want to learn and improve themselves is a credit to the hard work put in by the staff.

I am writing this review regarding pc skurvin's new placement in Newbattle even though the police…read morebeing at the school should be a good thing her being hired is tasting very bitter sweet, the first thing I would like to address is the fact that she is speaking down to pupils swearing, being cheeky etc. also that instead of doing her job to protect the school as an officer she is thinking she is the head teacher saying things like " I have more rights than you do" "I'm higher up that mr mcmillan so no matter what you say he can't fire me" also re-fairing the pupils as "dogs" the tone that I heard her use with the kids is out of order and some form of action needs to be taking when I tried to speak to staff they said there is nothing they can do because could fire them she's bullying the students and the TEACHERS and if she isn't removed from the school in fact of immediately I will have a lot more to say than this. she's a police officer who thinks she has the jurisdiction to BULLY CHILDREN!

The building is a sixties tower block with red window frames that can be seen from all over the area. I pity all the staff and pupils who have to work in these circumstances
