It's such an outstanding building, you can stand on Queensferry road and look down for about half a mile and see it at the end of the longest drive in the world. It's imposing and a real big part of history and the style of architecture would make any art student weep.

This school deserves full marks 5 not less than 5. At P 3 my son needed learning support, the school informed, at no extra fee. I was most impressed for such a closed attention. My son was at this school from nursery -S 6. He did well. Review is about the total quality of service and standards of education. Nothing to do with the fee. You have the choice free school or pay school. I must say that it's worth of my money and every penny I spent. This is what I want my son to be educated in this type of environment and good academic background. I myself from Thailand, everyone have uniform no matter which school. All fee paying schools are good academic and good environment, great teachers, good standard facilities. I have been to a few government schools - all good, but I still happy to pay for education as long as we can afford it. The School offers 5%? discont can't remember a long time ago - if pay in full yearly. Even no discount, we still think it's worth the money. My son has gained PhD, in Machanical Engineering with the job he loves and earn a living. I am now very happy with the study background he's got from this school that led him to go further. Thank you so much once again to all Heriots'teachers, they strive for the maximum results and aim for maximum performance for their pupils. Kids can do well when they are happy at school and happy home, supportive parents no matter which school. I see those who don't achieve, it's not the school's fault. The school gives the best whether kids want to aim high or not.

I've walked past this ancient building everytime I go down Lauriston Place from the George Square university area, and I'm always amazed that some kids actually get to go to school in Hogwarts. And I'm a little bit jealous as well. The grounds are massive, and I doubt those little children really deserve such a beautiful academic environment. Honestly though, the oldest students there are probably just a year or two younger than I am, but I'll rant on anyway! The school was commissioned by George Heriot, and it's a little sad to think such a place, with it's wonderful renaissance architecture, started off as a charitable institution for children, but is now a fee paying school. Nevertheless, they have open days on in September, should you really want to explore the school.

If you're not familiar, think indulgent, a spectacle, disturbing, hedonistic, garish, innovative, creative, thought-provoking... you will feel polarizing things here, you will remember your visit here forever. According to their website, "Jupiter Artland is an award-winning contemporary sculpture garden... set over 120 azores of meadow, woodland and indoor gallery spaces, Jupiter Artland is home to over 30 permanent and unique site-specific sculptures... as well as a seasonal programme of carefully curated exhibitions..." Try to come on a beautiful day since this is an outdoor adventure! While it's mostly very accessible, there's a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes! We got the map and made it a point to visit and read about every site. I think Jupiter Artland became famous because of influencers showing off the vibrant Gateway pool (which you can actually occasionally swim in). I loved I Lay Here For You (about women in nature), Rivers (a collection of water from one hundred different rivers in the UK), Animitas (two hundred small Japanese bells that are constantly making different melodies; no two ever the same; it's supposed to be like how no two souls are the same); Rose Walk (the gothic and chinoiserie pavilions); I liked the Weeping Girls (statues in the woods) but my partner felt haunted, vice versa for In Memory (the cemetery with people's names erased); we were both left speechless, creeped out, and concerned after Upside Mimi! which we watched in its entirety. Woof. The Cells are also very iconic and apparently you can wild swim occasionally there too. The VERY LONG point? You SHOULD visit here. Art is supposed to make you feel stuff, and you will very much feel stuff here.

Definitely the BEST sculpture garden that we have ever visited anywhere in the world. There are both indoor and outdoor exhibits. The exhibits are displayed all over the more than 100 acres property. You can get a lot of exercise walking while searching and exploring the place looking & admiring the exhibits. Personally, my favorite area was the Cells Of Life. Very beautiful landscape work of art!! You cannot miss it because once you enter the property.....there it is!! "Cells of Life consists of eight landforms and a connecting causeway which surround four lakes and a flat parterre." Unfortunately, we only had a couple of hours to spare. So we did not have the opportunity to explore everything that Jupiter Artland had to offer. Still, we did enjoy our time. If you are in the Edinburgh, Scotland area, I recommend dropping by.

The staff were great; friendly and helpful…read more The sailing school offers a large number of courses, from the weekend small sailing wayfayer courses to navigation exams and powerboat courses. The school has decent facilities, with showers, toilets and changing areas to change into dry clothes after you have fallen in the forth. The school provides you with everything you need ( including lovely fishermen yellow waterproofs - very fetching!) It's great value for money and a place to have some fun.

The nursery is clean and well equipped with rooms for 0-2, 2-3, and 3+. Each room has an outdoor play area also, though outdoor space is small for the 0-3 age range. My little girl has always enjoyed her nursery days, and I love to see and hear what activities she has enjoyed taking part in each day she attends. The nursery is situated beside the canal so often the kids can be brought out to feed the ducks. It is also a short distance from Kirkintilloch town centre so it is great when the staff bring the kids to the shops to buy ingredients for soup which is then made in nursery for them to enjoy later that day. A lovely nursery with super staff!

Home to 7 spacious and well light studios, this place isn't just for hire to those looking for rooms to work from, they also have a room for hire at the front where they host some super amazing workshops that I have become super accustom to! So far I have been to the Karen Mabon scarf making workshop (and now own one hella cool pin up girl silk scarf that I designed!), the El-Aich ceramic painting class (where I created a tasty looking rainbow sprinkles mug) and I even got the chance to go to the Yelp 'Space Cats' party (which was so kawaii cute, tasty and fun I don't know where to begin!) If you're looking for a great way to spend the day, learn a new skill and create something totally unique, defo check out what's on at Hill Street Design House. With plenty of upcoming events, I'm actually signed up to the newsletter so I don't miss out on early bird tickets (be warned: they often sell out fast!) And let me just say right now, it's not just for girls. There is a whisky tasting event coming up that I have plans to get a bunch of tickets to as gifts - who doesn't want to go to that?! The event room is really bright, it's in the centre of town so transportation to and from is no bother and let's not forget it's near some really great pubs (perfect for celebrating your hard work in afterwards!) The classes are really affordable, pretty different to the other stuff that I've seen in Edinburgh and are always well run. Plus I have popped in here to get a dress made by RowanJoy recently, and everyone in house seems really sweet and helpful (not to mention SUPER talented!)

Tonight's event was a brilliant drag themed, ceramic painting workshop. Part of a long goodbye to our CM Jody who will be crossing the pond in just four weeks (cue the violins!). The venue, complete with disco ball lighting, and a play list that will keep you dancing until the wee hours, is also host to to weaving, silk knicker making, and resin worships, to name just a few. And even though the experiments or tests were not brilliant, the building certainly provided a surprise! Situated on George Square, this building is one of a few which actually adds to the beauty and style of the area. The front of the building is moulded in that Victorian - Regal scheme with two large pillars towering above the entrance, along with a figurehead of a character (unknown to me who it is). Inside the building is bright and open with you immediately being introduced to the main part of the building. It is an area with seats at the side and a large circle in the middle where you can see the floor below. Furthermore, the building has its own mini library and provides rooms for lectures and tutorials. Also, on the ground floor there are many rooms dedicated just for experiments. If you dare to walk amongst psychologists and students studying psychology then you will be rewarded with the impression that the building gives to you.

just recently got a new head teacher mrs sheridan, who took over after mrs dickson retired, a…read morefriendly little school but has the usual problems with bullys,although mrs sheridan seems to be a lot firmer with this . clean school which promotes healthy eating and trys to bring out the best in pupils, they have a different class assemblysover the course of the year and they also put on a xmas and summer show which is also very well receieved in the area , both of them are usually sell outs . the pupils try very hard in these shows and the primary 1s are always amazing to watch and very funny. they have a low turnover of staff as most of the teachers have been here for years, so they must enjoy it
