Spent $868 on a LMMH accordion that was sold as fully playable and maintained by a Liberty Bellows…read moretechnician. I received an inoperable accordion in horrendous shape. I emailed about it, they blamed shipping issues essentially told me to fix it myself, or I could have it sent back to be fixed again (leaving me prone to the 'shipping issue' once more). For as well packaged as the accordion was, I can't see how all 4 reed blocks would have dislodged. It's clear the bricked accordion wasn't touched by anything with fingers. After begging for a return authorization, I received a refund of $708, meaning I came out of pocket $160 for the privilege of buying a busted accordion.

The straps snap into specific snap pins, so I expected to receive the straps and the snaps they mate with, but no! I received some very beat-up frayed straps and no snaps. On objecting, the unidentified (owner?) said they were not sold together, but begrudgingly sent the snaps. He had my original order and would be able to mate the straps with the correct snap pins. No again! The received snap pins for some other brand of straps. I am out my money. Anybody want some useless accordion bellows straps? I'm disgusted with Liberty Bellows.

The store was nice and just about every item I had saved was on display. I was able to navigate around pretty easily and figure out where things were, BUT: although I made eye contact with pretty much every employee present (even one that was assisting the one other customer present at the time)... not ONE person greeted me, spoke to me or asked if I wanted assistance. No one looked like they wanted to be there, let alone bother with me. I was in the store for enough time to walk around and look at every single display, reference my phone, pick up things, try them on, etc. Not a smile. Not one word. Finally one sales associate spoke to me, pretty much because I walked over to look at a display of jewelry that was less than a foot away from her and she seemed to reluctantly have no choice. Even as a person that likes to look around and even shop independently, I like to be acknowledged at the very least and I would most likely direct my questions or need for assistance to the person(s) that gave a kind greeting or smile. None of that here. I eveb decided I wanted to purchase one of the items that I saw (a bracelet), but I was so turned off by the vibe, I left. (No one even said goodbye as I made it toward the door.) Besides not having a good experience. when I called David michie violins jennifer talked to me on the phone and ask several questions about what I was looking for, and explained the best way to go about choosing a violin for my needs. As she explained, when I arrived for my appointment David had 8 violins set up for me to try. After trying all the violins i was able to take home 3 for a week but the right violin had not chosen me. Round 2 i went back and David had 8 more violins for me to try out again, I did like 3 of them but there was one particularly that i was attracted to. I really don't like doing this, but sometimes it has to happen. My experience here was not good. I…read morelive in west Philly and as a collector of all things vtg 1950's, I was excited to take a new (to me) 1950's record player to the record shop to inquire about repairs. The person I purchased from told me it needed a new needle. Whether or not that's true I'll never know. The associate who helped me the day I dropped the player off was not the issue. They took a look at it, told me I needed to pay $20 for labor, and said they'd call me when they had a chance to look it over. I told the employee that I'd be willing to pay upwards of $150 to have it working because it was in really great shape cosmetically, and I WAS thrilled to have found it and bought it. It was beautiful..Money was not an issue, because this thing meant something to me. I was very vocal about this when I dropped it off. 2-3 weeks went by and I got a call. The person I spoke to was not the same person I handed the player over to. They told me that it was too complicated to fix and "not worth their time and effort." I Found that comment to be a dismissive, but whatever, they don't want to do it, that's fine, I wasn't mad. I told the person over the phone that I would be by to pick it up. Conversation ended. That week I stopped by the record shop to get it, and the person I spoke to on the phone was there. I know this because he told me he threw it away. The entire time we are having this exchange, he doesn't once look up from whatever it is he was reading or writing or whatever, all I knew in that moment was that a complete stranger was informing me that he had trashed my property, in a " I give zero fucks," kinda way. No eye contact, and no apology. It's like I was bothering him when I asked why they would do something like this after I told them I was coming to pick it up. His response was "that's not how I recall our conversation going." I am a west Philly nanny and had the babes I care for with me, so I calmly closed the door that day, but have felt livid ever since. I really try not to think about it, but its pretty impossible when I'm still waiting for a response to the email I sent them. I'll spare you the details about how painful this feels to have something that's irreplaceable, and gorgeous, just thrown away, especially because they advertize as A RECORD REPAIR SHOP..I really thought they might give a suit about what they do but it defineitly doesn't seem that's way. The careless employee who trashed my record player actually said out loud that I told them I didn't want it. WHAT! Considering he couldn't take one second to look up at me while telling me he trashed my property, doesn't bode well for someone trying to claim they were paying attention to the conversation In the first place. Take accountability! Apologize, or at the very least respond to my message on your website. Really wish I had gotten that dudes name, but I will be looking into that, and will update. I asked them to refund me the $20 and pay me the cost of the player. That's $70 It's not like I'm asking for a lot here, But like I said, they chose to do absolutely nothing other than take my money and destroy my property. I've been chatting w people in my community and it's seems this place has a reputation, and it's not pretty. If you want repairs done, look elsewhere. When you first walk in, it looks like a small average guitar shop, but if you look closer, you'll see it is anything but ordinary. They have pretty much ever pedal every made, nicely displayed in a huge set of cases. But the real magic happens when you venture upstairs. Never before in any guitar shop have I seen such a collection of amplifiers. Matchless, Buddha, Suhr, Engl, Marshall, Fender, Orange, Vox, Diveded by 13 and many many more. It was like I had died and gone to amp heaven. There were so many I was actually a little overwhelmed with where to start. Lou, the owner, and his associate were amazing. I spent about 2 hours playing about 5 amps with there help, then had him draw up a quote to order me a custom one. They were amazing. In addition to the unbelievable assortment of amps, they have dozens of high end guitars. Many boutique and custom shop one of a kind guitarswith exotic woods. They have a ton of a guitar called a Warrior, which is a brand I have never heard of until today, but they seem amazing. The inlay work was remarkable. I feel lucky to have discovered this gem and look forward to doing business with them. I will be back soon!
