Have a money oarket and checking acct - usually carry a combined balance of $10,000+. Today I find a "calculated service charge D1" taken from my account. Had to call to find out what that was ... I have to average $20,000 in my combined accounts each month to avoid this fee. Never had it before but now it shows up! This in addition to the fact that PNC has greatly reduced the number of live bodies in my local branch so if I go there for something like a notarized signature I often cannot get one. The second closest branch has closed their drive through. So more charges, less services. I'll be a former customer as soon as I can set up a new account.

Therefor I went into Pathway's Credit Union in Delaware Ohio and applied for a loan between $5,000-10,000 about a year ago. Toni, who's now the branch manager set my account up. She applied for the loan and told me I'd hear in a few days is approved or not. Jeri Lynn who's a loan writer called me and told me she could refinance my 2016 Ford Fusion also so let's try that as well! I said hell, why not!? Days later I get a call back. Pathway's could approve me to refinance but not for the personal loan. I get it. They have collateral so when they want to take something from you they can help in a heartbeat! But not to help you get your life situated. No. No collateral, they won't help. But if they can rip you your car or home from your hands they'll approve you In a minute! Toni told me to give it several months of good payment history with the Ford and bank deposits from my employer and they'd help me. Several months later, I try again. DENIED!!! Because my credit and debt yet these jerks won't approve me to help me!! Fast forward to January 2020. I get into an accident. The Fords totaled. Thank god I had Gap, my loans paid off. While waiting for my insurance to pay the loan off I assume Pathway's would help out again since I just had a 20,000 loan through them that I always paid on get paid off. Nope!! After two months of fighting with them and my insurance to get my car paid off, Pathway's denied my loan because I switched my direct deposit to Chase for a special offer with Taxes being deposited and even though it was switched back immediately and my pay has already hit my Pathways account, they told me to wait 2 months with payment history even though they have over a year of payment history to even consider it. Shittiest customer service in existence, lies and excuses, tell you one thing and does another. Stay the hell away from Pathway's. To call themselves a credit union is a joke. This happened to the person behind me too. I called Monday morning and was given attitude about "no one available to go out and retrieve it." Are you serious? This ancient machine kept my card and I was without money all weekend. Had to cancel plans on Sunday because of this. When I went to get my card back I was informed I had to come in. Could I be any more inconvenienced here? No apology at any point in this fiasco. Like it was my fault. I reacted in a very unflattering matter unlike me and was upset all day. And to top it off, two days later my card number was used in a fraudulent transaction. Hard to imagine this is a coincidence.

My latest call took place after receiving a security code that I didn't request. This means that somebody has used my login credentials. A very serious security concern. The PNC customer service rep told me to just ignore it. Dangerous! Another time I called about a transaction that I did not recognize (numbers didn't match up). I was told to contest the transaction. Fortunately, I didn't follow their advice because the transaction was a transfer to pay my PNC credit card bill. That information should have been obvious to them. If you think you will ever have to contact customer service, do not choose PNC.

Started process thru different bank and it was a nightmare!! Decided to give PNC a try - to move our regular checking and savings accounts to - as well as apply for HELOC thru them. We are SO SO GLAD we did!! Everyone at PNC has been pleasant and responsive - from opening accounts to working with a personal banker by the name of Brian on the HELOC (and Cody online). Brian is EXCELLENT!! Highly recommend him! The whole process went quickly and smoothly - THIS is what banking should be ALL ABOUT - helping your customers! Thus far we're extremely pleased and would recommend this PNC location for sure!!!
