Started process thru different bank and it was a nightmare!! Decided to give PNC a try - to move our regular checking and savings accounts to - as well as apply for HELOC thru them. We are SO SO GLAD we did!! Everyone at PNC has been pleasant and responsive - from opening accounts to working with a personal banker by the name of Brian on the HELOC (and Cody online). Brian is EXCELLENT!! Highly recommend him! The whole process went quickly and smoothly - THIS is what banking should be ALL ABOUT - helping your customers! I do most everything online and occassioanlly visit an ATM when I need cash. Recently, however, I needed to actually "go inside" and meet with a banker. I scheduled an appointment and showed up at the appointed time. The banker was expecting me and I didn't have to wait. I met with Heather Morris who was very professional and knowledgable. She handled my transaction very efficently and I was out in less than 30 minutes. Excellent service.

And when I came up to the building I saw not drive-through or ATM. Weird. They are there, at a freestanding island off at the edge of the lot. Not sure why; the lot is plenty big to have a lane, and the parking lot is an awkward mishmash of little shapes. The ATM was easy enough. I'm sure I'll be back. I think if you are in the business of handling someone's money, personal would be a good thing. I looked for a local bank after leaving Chase. There are a few good credit unions in the area so the decision was not easy. Honestly, the $100 bonus is what drew me to CS Bank. Also, having a bank that is open seven days a week turned out to be more useful than I thought. Staff is usually friendly at any of the branches. Again, personal attention. They are also very helpful. When I started a new job, I was paid in handwritten checks. I did not know there would be a hold on my first check because of the large amount and it being the first one I was depositing. The teller told me about the hold, but if I got it cashed, I could deposit it without a hold. I lost six dollars cashing it at the issuing bank, but did not have to wait out a four-day hold. They are a little light in services and account types, but I did not need any special accounts. Having a free coin counting machine is nice as well so you do not have to pay a fee at a Coinstar machine. If you are considering a bank, give CS Bank a look.

As a new member on the finance team for our church, I was in Fifth Third today to be added as an additional signer on the church account. I was very impressed with the service we received and the knowledge of the banker we were working with. During our conversation, I learned that Fifth Third was not charging a monthly fee for the churches' account (due to meeting a minimum balance requirement). I'm also involved with another church related organization that is being charged $95 per month for an account with a higher minimum at ANOTHER BANK, I think Fifth Third will soon be handing the checking account for another church related organization.
