And then came back with Mom the next day, so she could finally have the opportunity of meeting/chatting with the owner, and seeing her fine shop and offerings, and witnessing her wonderful artistic talents. It was another opportunity for us to see and chat with 'Cindy' (owner/artist), about her current displays, recent restorations, new creations, and some of her future plans, thoughts, and all. Several offerings caught our attention this time, but especially, a large, writing/art-working desk display, and several pieces of furniture she had restored since our last visit. We sure enjoyed seeing the very artistic, creative, and lovely makeovers she had completed with each (desk, side/lamp table, large cabinet, and bureau). Fine pieces, that will make lovely additions to someone's home, studio, or the like. These works, and some others, gave us the opportunity to see a little of what she has been doing, and how she has been experimenting with the 'FAT' brand of paints, and other products, she carries and sells in her shop. We so-enjoyed these visits to 'Le Shed'. With its lovely proprietor, and cool displays of "old things, vintage, and odds & ends" stuff -- for us, a 'must-do' stop in downtown Hope.

Back to Jackie's during our recent stay in Harrison - the ladies (Mom & daughter) had fun browsing,…read moreand trying-on things, while I pretended to be interested in such activities!! :-) But I did enjoy my times as well though, chatting with the salespersons present at each visit (nice to see/talk with Ann once again, and meet Darlene and Pat for the first times). The ladies had some successful browsing/shopping: Mom -- a lovely, semi-sheer, colourful (reversible too!!), summer-wear dress, and for daughter -- an attractive, light & colourful, blouse top. Each of their selections got a big "wow, and I like" from me!! Looking forward to summer and seeing them in each!! :-) Fun and enjoyable visits to this fine women's fashion shop in Harrison, and some cool, neat, and 'cool' findings came home!!

The stuff is cute and…read morereasonably priced and she has some stuff in there for last minute decisions to do stuff like fine dining at the Harrison Resort Hotel or grabbing a swimsuit and sandals to nice fancy hats and all sorts of cute little finds. One thing I appreciated when I've gone there is that she was willing to work out a deal which is always a nice thing about a small business. Her service is friendly and it's a cute little boutique. I check it out every time I'm in town. I recommend checking it out if you're ever in that neck of the woods :))

'New To You' was 'discovered' by daughter and I on one of our recent walkabouts during a 3-day stay…read morein Hope. The location of the shop was well-known, but the shop itself, a first time browsing/shopping experience. It's a small place, but sure fully-packed with offerings -- all sorts of 'stuff & such' -- from used clothing of all kinds (mens, womens, and children), to odds & ends of houseware, and such. The staff (owners) were great -- so friendly, informative, and caring about what they do, and the community services they provide. Daughter found a mug that she just had to have. Otherwise, we just browsed and enjoyed the sights, and our chats with the owners -- two fun visits worth.

I have a lot of hardly worn or higher end clothing that I am sorting through. The first batch I…read moregave them, I was kindly told they only take in items on Fridays. When I showed up on a Friday with another batch, a grumpy old gal gave me heck and said they only took items in between 3-5:00. This is free higher end brand name stuff, much nicer than you would usually find in a second-hand store. I don't need this kind of argumentative hassle when I'm only trying to be generous, so now I donate it elsewhere.

A new to us shop, located in the Midtown Shopping Plaza, right next door to 'Bakers Books', a…read morefamiliar favourite of ours. Heh, the ladies love to browse "thrift stores", and here was a new one to check out. We had just extended our recent trip to Hope to include an additional stay in Harrison Hot Springs, and Mom had not packed packed a bathing suit. And now, with this Harrison part of our current trip coming up, 'Treasures on Third" really came to the rescue, and solved the problem of where to get one, and not pay a Harrison price for it. The daughter checked out the shop first, and found two potential bathing suits that might work. She went back to the motel, caught Mom, and had her try them on. Success -- one (a quality Speedo) was a perfect fit -- and priced at $6, there was no way it would stay there. Plus, with a little more looking around, Mom found some shining new, small car toys for the great-grand children. Here's to 'Treasures on Third' -- you truly did it for us!!!

Several shops and restaurants located within this Mall definitely 'come and go', as witnessed by our rather frequent visits/stays in Harrison. For us, it has been a shame to see some go, and an often wonder why to see some that come to replace them. I witnessed a change during this stay that was a delight to see. The 'Happy Prospector', which closed its doors to business (out on the highway into Harrison) a good while ago, had now re-located into Harrison, and within this Mall. It is now located in the space previously occupied by 'Dragonfly Gifts'. Had the opportunity to talk with the owner, and wish her well with the endeavours she has planned.

'Hope Outdoors' has been a familiar browse & shop stop for us during several stays in Hope. During…read morethe most recent mid-June stay, our stop found the same friendly and helpful staff, back into the recently, totally-renovated, original downtown location of its store. 'Shiny-new' and bright quarters, with nicely-stocked, and well displayed offerings of just about "anything & everything" one could wish to see when thinking of outdoor 'wants & requirements' - including clothes, gear, and accessories re: camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, emergency/survival supplies, and so much more! On this stop, I was seeking a jacket -- a 'shell-type', heavy enough for fall wear, but roomy enough to accommodate a heavy sweater, vest, or such for winter wear. I really liked the styles and qualities of what they had to offer, but try as I did, just could not catch a size to properly fit me. Will catch another look or two before fall sets in, and check on what might be available. Plus, my eyes caught some 'sandals' during this stop, and they definitely need a closer, second look, and try-on. Total shopping interests at a shop like 'Hope Outdoors' are on the rather narrow side for me now. But I really like to browse this wonderful shop in Hope, even if it is just to soak in the 'feel' I get, and 'memories' it provides of many past, and wider outdoor interests, and experiences. My camp bootie broke and Daniel found me the right clip for some string to mend it. The prices are even cheaper than some big brand stores. I'm so happy I found this store. I will always stop in now on my travels.

We were back to Artisans Attic for another browse and look about the shop during a recent…read morelate-March stay in Hope. As the last time when we entered this small shop, we were immediately impressed with how much "stuff & such" was on display. All wall spaces, tables, and shelves were filled with their unique, and colourful offerings of all kinds - very nicely-displayed, and presented to catch passing eyes! For daughter and I once again, the same variety and selections of crafts, gifts, and such as seen before. Of special note to me this visit though, was seeing the large collection of 'hand-painted glassware by Errol Brimacombe'. It was nice to see such a wide-selection of this Chilliwack artist's glassware pieces on display here (and my photo only shows pieces on the table, missing the others on shelves behind) The same wonderful aromas of their homemade fudges, gelato offerings, and other sweets filled the air, and added that same nice touch to the senses of our previous visit. We were happy to have had this chance for a return visit to this fine shop.

The 'Pharmasave' in Hope has always been a 'drop in and browse' walkabout stop for us during our…read morestays in Hope. And during our most recent June stay, became 'the' shopping place for what was needed, when it was needed. It is a bright, well-laid out, rather large store, with very friendly and helpful service, located on the 'main drag' of downtown Hope -- very handy to anyone visiting, or staying within the downtown area. Like many pharmacies these days, it carries a "whole gamut" of offerings - from pharmaceutical requirements, though other personal, and general household needs -- and at this store, a rather nice, and varied selection of fun, and/or souvenir 'stuff & such'. We had often enjoyed browsing there, and when more was required, 'Pharmasave' worked well for us.
