She provided counsel on Reverse Mortage options, as well as refinance, and ultimately Home Equity Line of Credit application. As VP she went to bat when our credit scores were low, and helped us compute an acceptable income level, DTI ratio, ( we are both on Social Security fixed income ). We now pay a much lower interest, than our two credit cards, We now live within our income, and we have money available, if needed. My wife and I both have medical expenses, dental bills, medicine, that need paying monthly. Old Second has made this possible, put us First, and eliminated our financial challenge, and associated stress. Old Second Bank worked with Elder Care Services, financial counselors to consider our budget challenge of expenses exceeding income! We highly recommend both Old Second, Carrie Osmund, Chris Shake, and Chris Heyob. We have been Old Second customers since 2006, when we moved to Sycamore. There is MORE to Sycamore, with Old Second Bank support, they have our back! We are proud to recommend Old Second Bank of Aurora.

    In February, I posted a highly negative review of CU1 on my experiences since they merged with…read moreILCU. I stand on every word in that complaint. However, since that review, my rating of them has increased dramatically. A representative responding to my critical Yelp post took it seriously, two customer service reps contacted right after, they were sympathetic, gave me their contact info to avoid the call center, and dealt immediately with issues under their control. CU1 continues to work out the bugs. I am now a happy camper! I also stressed at that time (I hope) that my issue was with the CU1 merger, and not with the DeKalb (IL) staff. I've been with them for nearly 40 years and with no exceptions they are A+++ user-friendly, helpful, and it's fun to see their cheery faces. My only complaint is that they stopped serving popcorn.     CU1 has terrible customer service, their centralized call center is D-, their policies and…read morepractices have degraded from when it was under IL Community Credit Union. Their "message" option on the homepage seems run by low-level AI and there are often multi-day delays in responding to a query. The homepage is not user-friendly, is missing some of the previous online options. Responders at the call center are often ill-informed and unhelpful. The homepage appears to be down or glitched far more than acceptable. The initial rollout of the web platform and records wasn't ready for prime time. I have been with ILCU since it was Sycamore Credit Union, then the ILCU since 1979. The only thing that keeps me closing my account is the wonderful customer service and helpfulness of the current on-site staff - they're wonderful. But, CU1 might motivate me to leave them.
