I was talked into opening a business checking account in March of 2020 to "hold" our ticket sale money for our 20th-year class reunion & was assured it was a free account & would not be charged any fees as long as we had money in the account. Covid hit requiring us to cancel/postpone the reunion so the funds were left in the account. In 2021 there was talk of rescheduling the reunion so in Feb of 2021 I logged in & found $231 missing from the account. I called & the bank told me they would look into it & call me back. No callback but I saw a $50 credit applied. I called again to deal with the issue, no response. I traveled from Florida to Michigan where the account was opened & stopped at the Ludington branch in April 2022. One of the bankers said she would "run it up the pole" & get back to me; months went by & nothing. I called back & left messages, no response. Finally, she answered & said she was waiting for me to call her back!! First of all, I did, second of all, she was the one supposed to be getting back to me with info! She assured me she would be working on it. Again, a month or two went by, & I called and spoke to someone else, & she told me she would call me the next day... nothing. Almost a week later I received a phone call stating that they were only going to refund 6 months of charges. Well, that just doesn't seem fair when I first contacted them about this well over a year ago!! So really, it should have been 21 months since no one responded to my multiple requests for help for nearly two years! I have been trying to call the regional manager & have left two messages with no response. I have spoken to multiple customer service agents, bankers, managers, etc. They all said the same thing; don't close the account or we can't help you... well, that got me $385 worth of fees, and only $161 reversed; where's the other $224? I wasn't going to let them steal any more $$ & closed the account 11/9/22. Now they are refusing to help refund the $224. read more
