If there's one store in Ojai that is a must, this is the place. I alway love coming here to see what they have on display. It's not your typical window storefront. You're greeted with a long walkway into a garden. Like the entrance to a secret garden. Plants covered to make it into a canopy. Tons of plants as well as garden trinkets all lined the walkway. Loads of things hanging from the walls as beautiful garden pieces that can be for outdoor or indoor. Once inside which is like a secret garden which there's loads of amazing pieces. Homeware, garden items with both indoor and outdoor pieces. The store inside has so many cute jewelry pieces, home decors, a baby section with loads of cute clothes and toys. Loads of gifts for any occasion as well as some apparel. They also have such an amazing collection of decorative pillows all with beautiful prints. It's a garden center meets home decors. Such a beautiful spot for a wander through. Also, the walkway is a major spot for photos as we always have encountered people striking a pose. One of the best kept secrets store of Ojai. First time visiting this small shop. It offers a nice mix of handmade and branded products though, the prices are on the higher side. Unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by the service, as the staff was not very welcoming or attentive: one of their members stood directly behind us while we looked over a section of the store & completely dismissed us when we questioned if they needed to get into the area we were looking over. read more

FiG confused me with some of the signage, so I mistakenly checked in to their Bungalow by FiG location, instead of the Curated Living shop. The one on Ojai Avenue is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it alleyway of a garden shop vibe next to Ojai Clothing. The charming long and narrow space is the stuff that garden dreams are made of, but oh boy, the prices are really, really high for many of the items. The metal garden furniture, especially, took my breath away on the pricing. As such, I almost marked this down to three stars, because I haven't yet won the lottery and wouldn't purchase many of their goodies at the amounts listed. Not everything is stratospheric price-wise, though, and they do have some cute items you won't see other places. I guess you'd have to go in with an open mind, enjoy the visual spaces, and see if you can treasure hunt something that seems like a reasonable value for what you've curated on your shopping hunt. Truly it is probably the cutest store in Ojai. I've spent money in there plenty of times. But let's say 8 out of the 10 times I've visited no one ever bothers to say hi when we walk in. I've worked in retail and retail management for over 20 years, stuff like that matters. It's a store with things that provide joy to a home or people, but the vibe of whoever is working there doesn't match. And it's been a few different workers throughout the years. Gettin' Figgy With It. A twee store with everything you need, and don't need, for your garden and home. So many creative items and artistry in one location. We sauntered around the store looking at various knickknacks, when we spied these wind chimes made from pottery. It was love at first site! I love that feeling when you just know immediately that you like something. We finally found the perfect wind chimes, after searching for years... The young lady who helped us was super sweet. She gave us an estimate on shipping costs, and the purchase was made. A week later they were received. Crazy little store tucked in between the others. You walk through an enchanted breezeway to get to the indoor/outdoor feeling store. The place is full of wonders, probably best suited for gifts or if you are the sort who doesn't have to check a price tag before buying. Nothing here is "essential" or something you "need" but you'll want to take so many beautiful things home. Very artsy décor, but not overdone. Subtly silly like the placemats with pictures of owls with plants on their heads, or the animal head mounts created from felt and other fabrics. As far as gifts and housewares this place is one of the coolest shops on the face of the planet. They feature original works and some of the coolest enamel ware I've ever seen. The shop itself is situated down a long path in between 2 other spaces. The long entrance is full of awesome patio and garden items. In the shop they have tons of great stuff like picture frames, stained glass, succulent plants and a huge assortment of folding patio chairs and tables. "Thieves!" "Liars!" That's how we were treated at this place. Okay, we know visitors to Ojai might be paying more than locals. We enjoyed the pretty things at Fig and when we went to buy, they tried to charge us more than the price. 20% more, in fact, and I caught them at it. When I mentioned it the lady just rudely said the price marked on the item was wrong. No apology. No willingness to check. Just loudly and rudely saying that was the new price. Of course we didn't stay or buy. Being treated badly isn't what I expected. If you choose to shop here, be sure to check the register receipt. read more

I wandered into the gorgeous entrance way of Fig and fell more in love with each step. It's not a very big space but every inch of the place had another item that I wanted to buy. Although over priced in many respects, you can't help but overindulge in a little something from this wondrous store. And this is where my review gives this place an "A-OK" I bought a handcrafted Ojai soy candle that smelled just Amazing in the store, BUT when I enthusiastically came home to burn it, NO SCENT! What the Hell! $24 is a bit steep a price for just a soy wax candle. Also, the staff/owners are very non-friendly. Say "Hello", "Let me know if you have any questions", something! Any way, a must see store but BEWARE of any scented candle purchase. read more

My husband and I went to Ojai immediately after a sudden and very heartbreaking death in the family. I found myself wandering about Fig and became overwhelmed with emotion. To say Victoria, the owner of the store, was kind and generous would be an understatement. I could go on about how perfectly curated the selection of goods is. I could easily speak about how inviting the store is and how walking in from the street, through an almost meditative path of plants and chimes, sets the stage for a truly unique shopping experience. You enter off the main street in Ojai down corridor that's a bit of a garden area, then it opens out into a very airy enclosed room. Items carried includes jewerly, hostess items, small art pieces, fabric arts, all with a taste of the Ojai flair. While I was taking a stroll through the heart of Ojai's shopping commercial district I walked by this small alley way that was very mysteriously inviting with its ivy covered walls and twinkling lights and cute ceramic decorations on the wall...turns out it was a store!! So cute!! The entire store start with this long alleyway hallway and then opens to a small box shape area where the register and a hipster natural display of other products existed. They have a lot of cute wall and hanging hand made ceramics, other hand crafted items and many unique artsy and modern/hipster items. Love a lot of the things there. I would give it five stars except that I thought the staff was a little quiet. I think quiet was nice for that atmosphere where it felt like you were secretly exploring this beautiful grotto but they didn't say hello once and we ended up talking to them because we wanted to buy something but even when we were checking out it was very un-enthusiastic and lack luster. It felt like they weren't even excited that someone bought something. I don't know, maybe they were tired but it was so little attention that I almost walked out without buying what I wanted to buy. read more

The first time was 8 months ago, and the whole time I was in there I never got a single hello from the staff. There was stuff I wanted to buy but that really kept me from doing so.
