He drew up the papers, filed them in White Plains then out of the blue, he called me to tell me he had to pull the lawsuit because important information was missing from the document. Wait!! Why did I hire a lawyer to draw up paperwork and it was incorrect? He was provided with all the necessary documentation prior to the filing and he told me we could never win based on the information in that document and, in addition, my former employer could turn around and sue me. I was baffled. So he pulled the lawsuit and I asked for the remainder of my retainer to be refunded. His secretary provided me with his billing via e-mail and that billing reflected that he owed me approximately $3,500.00. When I went to his office to get my refund, I was told that he forgot to add a few billable items on there and it turned out I owed him somewhere in the area of $500.00. I spoke to him and he said he would waive that $500.00 in additional fees out of the goodness of his heart. Bottom line, I was out $7,500.00 which he gladly took and did a slapshot job. Very disappointed in Mr. Lovett. Wish I had read the reviews prior to making that appointment. Shame on him.
