I specifically stopped in hoping to pick up some blueberry brats, but they were sold out, so I went with the beer brats instead. They were decent, but again seemed to lack seasoning. I also asked about the cheese dips. The young gentleman working behind the counter was polite, but he didn't offer much guidance or any recommendations when I asked about the options. I ended up trying the jerk dip, which tasted more like cream cheese than jerk seasoning and had little flavor. Overall, nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. The Bearded Dutchman came highly recommended, so perhaps my expectations were a little high. I'd be willing to give the blueberry brats a try if I'm back in the area and they're available, but this visit fell short of expectations.

I have people who don't even like turkey love my turkey. I have purchased from Bob's Butcher block. In looking at the reviews, I have never seen anyone handle meat and money without putting on and taking off gloves. They are very conscious about that. As far as meat being tough, that is a chef problem, not a cut of beef problem. If you are having problems with tough meat, it is most likely due to not understanding how different cuts of meat need to be prepared. Some need to be slow roasted, some need to be seared and left medium to medium rare. The staff are knowledgeable on how to cook the meat. There are also 1 million videos out there on YouTube on how to cook/slow cook/fry/roast/grill your meat.

But on the other hand if you need a handful of ingredients for a recipe or have to pick something up that you forgot earlier then this store fills in the blanks. The one thing that they do very very well is their deli. They have a wide assortment of things like pasta salads and chicken wings etc. It's a great way to get something to round out a family dinner or get something to add to your lunch. We come here around 4-5 times a month for small things. And given the proximity and the past salad it'll likely continue to be a place we stop by.

REALLY enjoyed the gorditas with a Mexican coke. The lady had the chicken bowl and also enjoyed it. I lucked out with a 15 minute parking spot across the street and ran in. The front of the space has a cheese counter and lots of products for sale to create the cheeseboard of your dreams. I saw cutting boards, crackers and accoutrements, cookbooks, and more. I was on a mission, though, so I headed towards the back and through what looked to be a wine tasting area. Then I entered the Grilled Cheese Bistro, with its cute seating area and friendly employee. The menu is pretty simple -- choose your toastie (they have a handful of curated options), pick half or full sandwich, choose your bread, choose your side (chips, pickle, or bread), and then add a cup or a bowl of soup. All the options sounded delicious but I'm a savory person, always, so i got the Mama Mia, which has two kinds of cheese, pesto, and tomato. I went with the recommended Italian bread, and I added a cup of the tomato bisque, which is self-serve. They also had chicken pot pie and minestrone. My sandwich was done quickly and looked delicious -- super cheesy and perfectly toasted (aka it didn't destroy the roof of my mouth). The pesto and tomato were great additions, and dunking it in the soup was so fun and tasty. I loved this lunch so much and I wish they would open a location in Grand Rapids! I actually haven't been in a while because I've been sick so I learned that they have a new manager named Oke! She helped me pick my teas, which is why I was there. She was so incredibly helpful/knowledgeable about the tea flavors, asking what I liked & was looking for specifically. I love that she was able to direct me towards flavors I hadn't tried before based upon what I like. SUPER, SUPER NICE! Love that she asked about what I'd like to see in the store! The front staff, Bella helped me pick out some delicious dip, which I am eager to try! The store is definitely one of my favorites!
