I hate that I need to update this review with anything less than 5 stars but unfortunately mistakes happen. While I still stand behind how thorough the inspection and report was that we recieved, unfortunately Final Analysis did fail to find a 3 inch sewage cleanout just inside our gate next to our house which resulted in them not being able to do the camera view of the main sewage line for our home. While I am sure for most this would not normally be issue, for us it was. Once my family moved into our home, about 3 weeks after closing, our entire sewage system ceased to work. The result was sewage backing into and overfilling the showers, sinks, and toilets on our first floor and a large sewage leak from the 3 inch clean out on the side of our home, covering our sidewalk and our yard. Upon removing the cleanout cap, even through the mess, a simple visual down the cleanout showed a large amount of tree roots that indicated the sewage main was compromised, no camera necessary. Even through all this, I truly was not worried. I had lucked out and found a reputable plumber in town who was thousands cheaper than the next (I found out after the fact) and was prepared to do the work quickly (came out the next day, Saturday, and said it would take 3 days to complete). I knew Dan and Final Analysis had a reputation to uphold and the reviews to back it up, not to mention their website guarenteeing their work. I understand mistakes happen, but when you choose a good company its the accountability after the fact that dinstinguishes them from the bad companies you didn't choose. I called Dan the day everything started happening and sent him pictures of the issues we found. He understood what was going on, the extent of the issue, and took ownership of the fact that the inspection missed the cleanout and how much trouble would have been avoided had it not been missed. He even told me that they would be there for us if we needed anything and if need be, financially. Over a few phone calls I expressed everything in this review to him as well as how the repairs would take 3 days to complete at a cost of $3000 once we recieved the estimate. I sent the estimate invoice as well as descriptions and photos of the work needing to be done and asked if he had any one he could recommend to get a quote from before starting the work. With no recommendations, we started the work with our plumber. After 4 days of having no useable plumbing in our home and only 1 day left until the plumbing was restored, I called Dan after sending an update of the work. We had to pay the plumber the next day and I asked him if Final Analysis would be able to help us with the bill, even mentioning that I didn't expect them to foot the entire bill, but surely something alogn the lines of half. He told me that it was a difficult situation, that Final Analysis was not technically liable because they never inspected the sewage line. He stated that even though they weren't obligated to, that he would be refunding our home inspection fee, approximately $500 and suggested I check if my home owners insurance would cover anything. (Unfortunately, they won't.) While I do appreciate Dan and the refund of our inspection (although yet to be recieved), we were left almost a week with no working plumbing in our home and a $3000 bill as a result of Final Analysis not finding the 3 inch cleanout next to our home. Not only was the cleanout on our sidewalk just inside our gate, but it was directly in the walkway in our backyard, not hidden or covered by any plants or trees, and it was also directly in line with the city cleanout on our driveway that was found on the day of the inspection. This was an unfortunate series of events and I hope it does not happen to anyone else. read more

Breakdown: I'm weary about Realtors and "their" inspectors who I'd say they're cahoots with and getting kickbacks to each other for supply and demand stuff like home inspections. You can recommend to me all day long how great "your" guy is, but I won't trust him. Sorry. So...I selected Dan and FA team after researching this (Yelp) and a few other avenues to make calls from. Initial reports puts Final Analysis at the top. One conversation and the choice was easy. Their pricing is on the lower median but their reputation is at the top. Scheduling: Made my call and spoke directly with Dan. Simple questions, simple answers, nothing to hide. Philosophy about inspecting houses was very up front and felt at-ease to schedule immediately - which I highly recommend based on their popularity; keeps them booked for a week+. 2 different emails confirming your account and appointment for inspection - like bringing you into a family. Site is easy to navigate and comes in handy for after your home inspection report posts. Day of inspection: I wasn't able to be there till about 45 minutes after they had begun (my wife was). By the time I got there, Dan +2 crew had already finished most of the house and property. Pretty much after the meet-n-greet we got right into a walk-around with details about any major and his recommendations. He doesn't waste time, doesn't beat around the bush, says it how it is and how it probably should be or if you need to have some professional in that field inspect it further. He is extremely thorough and briefs you on items that aren't even part of the inspection (pool pumps for instance). Report and follow up: The entire team makes themselves available for info (I had a question and called) which is nice. The inspection report showed up in our email by early evening - loaded with photos that highlight exactly (with red boxes and arrows) any issues that should be addressed. If there are code question/violations - those references are provided. Picture diagrams and examples of what should be in comparison are also provided. Nothing is left to question unless its something they physically couldn't see inside (like a pipe). The summary function of the report is good to help consolidate the info, but my recommendation (and FAs) is to go by the long-version so you have all pieces of info available. We sat down with out realtor and went line by line with pics so we could submit our PICRA with exacting detail. FA provides a great web-tool that does the exact same thing which allows you to detail everything noted on the report, one-by-one, and even add things that are request and then tell how you want it addressed (repair, replace, cash equivalent, or no accept as-is). We didn't use this, but it is a great option to put together all of your thoughts and inputs in a single, organized document. Overall, the experience with Dan and crew with FA was top-notch. I love being able to positively recommend goods and services as much as I am to be able to ward against the bad. This was a great experience from beginning to end and I would recommend Dan and Final Analysis to anyone looking to get a completely unbiased and neutral inspection of their home. Worth every penny! We are purchasing our first home ever, and it can be terrifying. You do your best when you view the house. You walk through and notice some dents and other surface damages. The house seems pretty good, and you make an offer on the house. Great! These surface/cosmetic damages are not what is essential, and you realize that after you make the offer. That is when it gets really scary, and you don't know what you are going to be spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on. We were told by our parents, "Never go cheap on a house inspector." We saw the solid review on Yelp and decided to call Final Analysis. I spoke with Dan, the owner, first. He gave me his undivided attention and answered all of my questions. He understood it was my first home and made feel at ease that he was going to find out exactly how good a condition of the house was. Dan was professional, knowledgeable, and down to earth. He explained that he worked for me and not the realtor or loan company. He also told us there is not a good, better, and best home inspection package. Final Analysis was going to give it there all for a fair price. We also were not required to pay until after the inspection and we were 100% satisfied. If we were not, we would be offered a full refund with no questions asked. I called back to schedule the appointment and spoke to Adam. Equally as professional and knowledgeable as Dan and gave me the same information and price. On inspection day, Zach came arrived before we did and started right away on the inspection. He, like Dan and Adam, was professional & knowledgeable. He was focused on his job, but encouraged us to walk with him and answered questions as we went along. He pointed out things along the inspection and continuously took photographs and videos. He looked at things that I would never even think to look at and inspected things that I had specific questions on. I laughed when he started pulling out the gadgets during the inspections (collapsable ladders, thermal imaging, microwave radiation detectors, and moisture level meters). I never knew they had those types of things and was impressed he was ready for everything. In the end, Zach gave us a decent rundown of the house and said he would have the report on the website in 4 hours. Folks, this is where it is worth it. I have never seen a report so detailed in any profession. Two of my family members that are house inspectors were blown away at the level of detail and photographs of the home. The report is easy to use and has a checklist feature that allows you to determine what type of things you want to be fixed. We used the report and repair request to send to our realtor, and he was blown away as well. We found about $10,000 worth of immediate need items to be fixed to include moisture issues, crawlspace damages, and drainage issues. With the level of detail provided the sellers knew they had some repairs on hand. Lastly, we received followup phone calls, the opportunity to discuss the report further, general recommendations on repairs, and a handwritten thank you note in the mail. I cannot praise and recommend this company any higher. read more

This is the most amazing inspection company I have ever worked with! They were courteous, informative, prompt, and thorough. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dan, the owner, and Reuben, a key inspector. Final Analysis Home Inspections actually conducted two home inspections for me within about two weeks. The first home had numerous issues that were apparent, and Reuben found more! When we went to the sellers to ask for additional funds for repair of the additional issues Reuben found, the deal fell through because the sellers refused to repair the issues or offer funds for me to repair them. So, I found another home for purchase, and of course, I chose Final Analysis to conduct the inspection on the next house too. Dan was great to speak with on the phone and to communicate with by email. I shared my concerns about the homes and home inspections in detail, and he listened and provided me with lots of information. I had suffered serious consequences from previous inspections on home purchases that failed to find things like a dryer vented into the crawl space, which eventually led to mold and wood rot under the floors and cost us tens of thousands of dollars. So, choosing the right inspector was of paramount importance to me. Reuben showed up early to the inspections to begin his overview of the homes, and he looked at everything, which took many hours. I was thrilled that I was getting the in-depth type of inspection that I was looking for so that I would know what I was buying. Final Analysis helped me to avoid purchasing a home that would have needed more repairs. Final Analysis provided me with a detailed inspection report by the evening of each inspection, complete with photos and videos. It helped to receive the reports on both homes so quickly so that we could enter into negotiations for repairs leading to finalization of my home purchase. I will be closing soon on the second home that I had Final Analysis inspect and have complete confidence in the quality of the home that I am buying because of their work. My realtor was so impressed with their work that she has added this company to her inspectors' list for her clients. I hope this helps someone avoid the frustration and stress I've been dealing with. Lesson learned: never rely on a pest control company for your termite and moisture inspections. Over the years, we've used three different pest control companies for our home, which is 4,200 square feet. My biggest issue? Every technician spent less than 10 minutes inspecting under the house, and every time, their report was the same: "Everything looks good." Last year, one company even noted on their report, "Client isn't happy with the amount of time we are spending on the inspection." This year, they came out again, spent less than 10 minutes under the house, and repeated, "Everything looks fine." Well, everything wasn't fine. I knew it wasn't because our living room floor was about to collapse. That was the breaking point for me. I decided to fire the pest control company and look for a licensed home inspector who also specializes in termite and moisture inspections. That's when I found Final Analysis Property Inspections They sent two inspectors who spent over three hours thoroughly inspecting our home and identified the source of the issue, along with some minor repairs we need to address. They provided a detailed report, complete with photos, and even gave me peace of mind. When I first called, I told Dan (from Final Analysis) that I wasn't planning to sell my home but just wanted it inspected for my own peace of mind. Dan told me they're getting more and more requests like mine and even wrote an article about the importance of having a home inspection vs. an annual pest control contract. The best part? My wife and I have gone through the home purchasing process many times as investors and working with the team at Final Analysis has been our best home inspection experience to date. Dan and Jason were incredibly thorough and responsive to all of our questions. This was a sight unseen purchase for our family, so it was imperative that we have a detailed home Inspection. I first used Final Analysis on my first house in 2012 and was blown away by the attention to detail, the dedication to quality work, and the expedient service, both in the detailed work that the team does and the turnaround time for the report. I was so happy with my experience, it was a no-brainer to use Final Analysis whenever I was considering a property. As I write this, Final Analysis is inspecting my 5th property and I can feel the stress of home-buying already lessened because I know they will do a great job identifying any potential problems or current deficiencies so I can know as much as possible about the property to make informed decisions. After inspection, you will receive a link to an online portal (same day - within hours of the inspection) where you can view, share and download your property reports. The full report will have detailed information and pictures that nicely summarize the property and its major systems (e.g., HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.). The report will also provide easy-to-understand explanations with pictures of any findings along with why these findings are significant. As a first time homebuyer, I was unsure of what to expect for the home inspection process, but the team at Final Analysis was absolutely fantastic and made me feel at ease during the entire process. I was able to make an educated decision on whether to move forward with the home buying process on the property and I feel very satisfied with the decision that I did make because of how thorough and professional they were during my appointment. I arrived early for the inspection and the inspector Zachary Zinn arrived even earlier, which was really impressive. We ended up waiting on the Realtor, who was about five minutes early. They are super detail oriented, professional, always available no matter what questions I had and extremely thorough with their inspection and report. The entire process from scheduling the appointment to the morning of the inspection was streamlined and painless. On the day of the inspection Anthony was very helpful in the entire home inspection process and gave me a very detailed debrief explaining all of his findings. Dan, the company owner was on his way by from another inspection and even stopped in to introduce himself. A few hours later i recieved an extremely detailed report of not just important items that i may want addressed but also many overview pictures of every area of the property as well as general information such as ages and sizing of all equiptment (i.e. hvac, water heater, ect). The report is very streamline and easy to follow, even on my cell phone. Customer service is number one for these guys along with making sure I thoroughly understood all of the inspection findings so that I could move forward with my home purchase both informed and protected! My husband Don and I contacted the folks at Final Analysis to do a presale inspection of our home of almost 30 years. We have recently retired and have decided to move into a smaller house in a more rural mountainous area of Virginia. We made an appointment that was scheduled for Tuesday February 27 at 9. Anthony arrived about 10 minutes early so he could speak to my husband and I and explain what he would be doing. He was quite personable and patient with any questions we had about the process. He remained professional but was very detailed. After chatting for a few minutes, Anthony went straight to his work inspecting every detail of our home. The inspection did take several hours, but observing Anthony as he worked...we knew how efficient and thorough he was being. When Anthony had completed his inspection, he chatted with us again briefly to go over a few of his findings. He did ease our minds about our home being in very good shape and that it was maintained well. Anthony also explained that we would be getting a detailed review of his analysis. He also assured us the Final Analysis would be available to answer any questions we might have. The inspection Review that was sent to our email was extremely detailed but easy to read and navigate through. It will certainly be a great resource as we prep our house for sale knowing all the details of any repairs or fixes that we might need to make. My husband and I were ready to purchase a home in Virginia Beach; all that was left was to get an inspection. We were offered to use an in-house inspector from our buying agent, but we decided to use an inspector of our own. We saw many great reviews, and we decided to give this company a chance. Dan from the company did our inspection for us and he did not disappoint. I would say Dan went above and beyond. They found 33 problems with the house, all which came with videos with explanations of each the problems. The problems were even separated into categories of normal findings, actionable findings (critical), and maintenance findings. To put the cherry on top, they even took the time to discuss their findings in addition to the report. The inspector comments were very detailed and included health hazards and possible dangerous situations. There were even recommendations on whether or not something needed to be replaced - there were high risk and low risk comments as well. What is important is that Dan and Anthony make you feel like they are truly looking out for you and your family. They go over every little detail and don't skim or skip things. This is important when buying a new home. It's so important to have an honest company like this, especially when making a big investment. I can never say enough nice things about Final Analysis! They saved me from making a huge mistake on House #1-which also helped shed light on a dishonest realtor). I received an even more thorough inspection of House #2! It is absolutely worth the cost! Here is the thing I appreciate most about this company: their totally unbiased inspecting. Other inspection companies gave me the impression that they are in cahoots with realtor agents. Not Final Analysis! They are concerned with the integrity of their inspection and the relationship with their customers. That is it. Some companies say they "send a team" to do your inspection instead of just one inspector like Final Analysis. As if this is a good thing! Think about this: a team of people (where only ONE of them is licensed often) running around the house, not talking with each other-trying to get the job done quickly-OR-a single accredited inspector, methodically moving through every inch of the home- taking notes, snapping pictures-who can then piece the puzzle together and diagnose any issues in the home? No brainer- House #2 has a new roof but Zach still climbed up there and gave it his undivided attention! After the inspection, there is a thorough color-coded report that is easily understood by you and your realtor! Your agent is available for questions and is happy to explain the report in detail at any time if you have any questions. A red flag= if your realtor is PUSHING you to choose a certain inspector. You have the right to choose your inspector (i was not aware of this as a first time home buyer) and do your self a favor and choose Final Analysis! especially Zach! read more

First of all, our family was just looking for a quality home inspection company to assess our property to find out both the good and bad in preparation for listing it on the market. Like everyone else we started looking at online reviews to check out potential inspection companies. There was a company with a perfect 5.0 rating that had over 1K some reviews and ZERO complaints so we had to check them out, Final Analysis Property Inspections. Talked to Mr Rogers (Dan), the owner of the company and he understood right away our family situation. Both Dan and one of his top inspectors, Anthony, came to the house to do the inspection. Anthony's inspection was very thorough going thru entire house including the roof and attic spaces. He didn't hold back any punches telling us both the good and bad about our family house. This is what we wanted though. We received from Anthony, EXCELLENT reports that same afternoon that were comprehensive and very detailed. Additionally, we weren't expecting this at all but they also included a repair cost estimate report that gave us a cost breakdown of all the red flags repairs we would have to do. This gave us a much better understanding of the true value of our family house and for negotiations with future buyers. One thing that really touched us though was Dan's personal observation that he saw the "LOVE" and pride that our parents had put in maintaining the family house over the years. I couldn't be more pleased with Final Analysis Property Insp. and their employee Emily Washington. Emily was extremely thorough when inspecting my home...top to bottom...side to side...crawling in crawling out. She took detailed notes, including videos, explaining her findings and analysis along the way. Turns out her dad was an electrician and she grew up helping work in and out of houses and has a lot of institutional knowledge! She took even more time after her inspection to explain anything I was concerned about. I felt like I was being taken care of like I was her family...truly. Funny enough, her vehicle's tire deflated while she was inside inspecting and the company's owner swung by to replace it...he was great too! Didn't have to, but he walked around the house for second and we chatted...an owner taking this much time and taking care of his employees gave me a great impression. Just a solid team all around. No doubt, Emily's attention to detail and clear documentation helped tremendously to effectively negotiate many of the potential repairs with the seller. In fact, I closed a few weeks ago and am still referencing the report now as I repair my house...so detailed and clearly laid out. I was pretty skeptical of home inspections to begin with, I'm a trust but verify kind of guy already, and then heard about these lazy inspections that don't seem to be worth what they cost. This company should be the model for all home inspection companies. We have bought and sold multiple homes, but this is without a doubt the best inspection and report we have ever gotten. Right from the beginning while speaking with the owner, I knew I had reached out to the right company and it sure did not fail my expectations. Although the house to inspect was further than the VA beach area where they are located at, the owner was kind enough to schedule the inspection in Yorktown and I did not even have to wait but one day. Our inspector Zach came early and ready to do his job, he was well prepared and made sure to keep the area clean as well. He climbed on the roof, and also used an infrared to check the walls. After the inspection was completed Zach took the time to explain to us his findings and answered all the questions we had in a manner we could understand. The inspection was thorough in all aspects and the final report of the inspection was just impeccable and well broken down by area, and was documented with photos and videos to ensure the problem areas were obvious to understand and see. I would 100% recommend Final Analysis Property Inspections to any of my friends and family. For some background, I wanted to hire an inspector to do an inspection of our home about 6 months before we rent it. I was willing to pay top dollar for someone who would give me great service and a full report; spoiler alert, 100% satisfied! Anthony was very easy to speak with and asked great questions about our concerns, what we wanted out of the inspection, etc. They were very easy to schedule, and even provided text reminders. Anthony arrived a little early, which worked out great for me. Even during COVID-19, I wasn't concerned about giving Anthony run of my home (he had mask, booties, gloves, and even wipes). He was very thorough, and even found things our original home inspector missed or inspected improperly. He even happily took a list of concerns I had before his inspection started, and he made notes to provide, even beyond the regular report, specific responses based on those items. After the inspection, Anthony talked me through his whole report, answering all my questions and thoroughly explaining everything he saw. I used Final Analysis Home Inspections for 2 properties. Fortunately, I am glad I hired Final Analysis to do the inspection on the first house I was planning to buy. My wife and I believed that it was a perfect house for our family, if it wasn't for Mr. Dan Rogers and Mr. Adam Comeau we would have been stuck with a ridiculously expensive repair.
