They are not convenient, and they charge fees for everything if you use an ATM. I was told MY savings account would be online, and the primary person's account that I am on would be mailed. That was NOT true. They send out letters about insurance coverage not being covered even though they are receiving it. This review is not concerning the staff of this facility, but rather the organization itself as FCFCU has alienated me along with plenty of others when they chose to sell loans to a trash tier out of state bank. Don't bother trying to call them either cause their phone staff are unprofessional, dismissive, and extremely rude. I've banked with FCFCU for nearly 10 years. I gave them $1000s during the life of my mortgage. Always found staff to be friendly, even when they dropped a bomb on me today. Since I only have a savings account with them, I was told I'm being charged a monthly $2 inactive account charge and a $3 relationship charge, because my savings was too low. The manager said if I open a free checking account I will no longer be fined?! I asked what happens when the clean my savings account out. She said I will owe them $5 each month!!! I said, let me get this straight, if my balance hits zero, I will start owing you money?" She said, yes. With this attitude towards customers, I think this credit union will collapse. Admit it, shopping around for a financial institution is rather confusing. Having grown up near a military base and joined myself, I'd become familiar with the benefits of credit unions. Lower rates, better benefits. I remember when you had to be a member of a certain organization to join, these days I'm not so sure. So when I made my way to Indianapolis back in '95, Fort Harrison still resembled a base and I went with what I knew - the base credit union. I must say, this Credit Union has a lot fewer branches than I was used to, but they're spread out across town and you can also use Forum Credit Union when you can't find one. There are several account options to select from, and like most other banks, they offer FREE checking, affordable loan options, a Christmas Account, and they even cover your ATM transactions at other institutions so long as you maintain a certain level of activity. With the rampant corruption and downfall of the United States banking institutions, I guess I feel like credit unions are more trust worthy. FCFCU is a local establishment and has been named Best Places to Work in Indiana, which also helps me determine that my money is in the right spot. I don't know about you, but all the bank takeovers are wearing me out a bit (National City to PNC) and all the new names popping up and unknowns (what the heck is Stock Yard?) just tell me that you don't know what accessibility and fees will be hitting your money, whatever amount you have. I prefer the tried and true and will keep my checks routed to Finance Center Federal. read more

The best day of the year was when I paid off my car loan with FCFCU! Not because I am now debt free, but because I never have to deal with this bank again. Their online banking is a joke and customer service here must have been an after thought in the training process. As much as I disagree with "big banking" I get why they are winning. read more

Been banking here for over 10 years and have never had the horrific service I received today. Pulled into the drive thru. Only car there. 1p. Send all my info and wait 5 mins. Nothing. No greeting. Nothing. So I hit the call button. Nothing. Wait another 5 mins, hit the button, nothing. Finally have to pull around and walk into the bank. Didn't want to do this due to a low charge on my car battery. Walk in and there's one customer and three employees behind the counter. I'm still told I need to wait. Finally get someone to wait on me. Explain my situation and get told they're just getting back from lunch. That's it. Well, fast forward some more and I wanted to buy a new van for my wife. We were driving to California and I wanted a new car to make the long trip in comfort and have a new car that had a full warranty. Without even talking to the Credit Union I made the deal on my van. Then once I needed the money, I called their loan department up and they approved me for a full 100% loan. I didn't need it, but this place is so wonderful about giving great customer service. So I went to my local branch...the one at Stop 11 and US 31, right next to Beck Toyota and the AAA office, and signed the papers on the loan to get my check to drive over to Ed Martin Toyota in Anderson. Funny things happen when you are a good customer. The branch manager started asking me about my home loan and credit cards. One week later, I had a lower interest rate loan on my house, a check for over $7k to build a fence in my back yard, and a new credit card that allowed me to consolidate my other credit for a tremendous savings. All told, the amount of money I saved on the new house loan and consolidated credit card more than payed for the new van. This is really a tremendous financial institution. I can't say how much I appreciate their great financial products and the extra customer service that saved me well over $30,000. If you are buying a new car, or need a new home loan, this is the place you need to go. You will be so happy you did! read more

This is the absolute worst company to deal with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. They're so behind the times they shouldn't be allowed to service customers. I had a loan with them and I'll break down my experience: -They only work M-F 8-5 EST, so if you live in a different timezone, it's pain, but it gets worse -They frequently/randomly lock your online account...you know the one used to pay bills, and you have to call them in order to unlock it -If you forget your password, you have to call them (during business hours) -They do not send you bills, they give you a booklet that say the same number on every page, so when you make an over payment they can't tell you how much you owe until the check arrives. -I tried to pay my loan off in full and there was $20 left for interest or something, and instead of waiting 3 days to transfer $20 to cover it, I asked if I could just put it on a card and they said "no problem". 5 days later I get a letter to confirm the $20 charge plus $10 convenience fee, which they didn't tell me about. This company is absolutely terrible and should go out of business. STAY AWAY! read more

I am now an unwilling member of FCFU due to a bank merger. Hoping for the best, I sat down to try to figure out my account information and pay my bills. No such luck. Their online banking is a frigging nightmare. I have spent more than 20 minutes on hold 2 different times. I highly recommend looking elsewhere and will be doing so myself. read more

I've lost my patience. This bank changed their online banking system and I have to re-enroll like a new customer. And I need a piece of info that I don't have. And the only way they can give it to me is by mail or by me going into a branch. Such a bunch of crap. I've found getting any account information from this bank - even my account by balance - over the phone is essentially impossible. They practically need a DNA sample before they'll believe you are who you say you are. Their website sucks, and half the time it is not working or they've logged you out of your account or they can't help you by phone. I have to use this bank for my work's Health Savings plan. Otherwise, I would not continue to bank here. read more

These people are ridiculous, i am actual a member of the teachers credit union, but i was in a hurry and didnt want to drive down to teachers credit union so i took a check ( the check was a financial center check) to the financial center to cash it, gave them actual 3 peices of id, the check was made out to me but the client used my maiden name on the check, and it just recntly changed. So not only did i give these people 3 pieces of id with my married name on it, but also i still had a couple pieces of id with my maiden name still on it, so i gave that to them too. The girl said she had to ask someone higher up if it was ok....she came back and said they wouldnt cash it without my marriage license!! Omg.... these people are ignorant... and the topper.... the check was only for $40. I wouldnt never deal with thses people... they treat you like your a criminal or something. They deserve a big fat 0 for a rating, but i guess you have to give them 1 star or you cant post..figures!! read more
