So listen, maybe you got something that's been in the family since the 1920's like say a L&JG Stickley hardwood chair that's been looking dumpy, forlorn and neglected for as long as you can remember. Let's just say that when someone comes into your living room they choose to sit anywhere else. Anywhere, it doesn't matter, just anywhere. The thing has been in the family longer than you have. Much longer. What's to do? Well, you can walk into one of those fancy pants furniture places where the sales people are right there in their fancy pants suits ready to sell you their brand new fancy pants furniture at fancy pants prices. They always seem to have a big smile. Or, let's say that what you have is worth saving, where are you going to go? I have a suggestion. Maybe a little less glitz and a little more craftsmanship is what you need. Maybe a warehouse type operation run by a couple of specialists that know exactly what you need is the place you're looking for. Fine Touch Upholstery is just that type of place. Glitzy it's not. Warehouses are not glitzy. They don't ship out their work to some sweat house after they smile at you and hold out their hand. No no no. They have the sewing machines, cutters, materials, samples, all that stuff right there. They didn't have to order anything for my 100+ year old Stickley. All they needed was right there, even the leather hanging on hooks right where I could take a gander at it. Down home? You betcha. The difference in my living room is striking. 5 stars for excellent work by Andy. He recovered 6 giant outdoor cushions with expensive custom fabric that I had delivered directly to him. They look better than brand new if that's possible. I do recommend you go there in-person to negotiate a detailed quote in advance, as well as a work order in writing. They are real craftsmen, which are rare, so they charge accordingly. Note: They are cash only and want half upfront. But again, the work is stellar. read more

After retrieving two of great grandpas old chairs that had no cushions i knew i was on a mission. Talked to a interior design friend, who referred me to Fine Touch Upholstery. Called, spoke with Andy, went buy, picked the dream fabric from their huge selection of swatches. Got a quote the next day, approved. Showed up to pick the chairs up. AND WOW! Totally in love with them. Shared a couple photos with my family who knew the story on the chairs and they couldn't believe how nice they came out- 67 years later. When we needed to have our antique Victorian chair restored, we took it to Fine Touch Upholstery and were amazed with the results. The shop was clean and well-organized, the owners friendly and very helpful. Andy did a masterly job on our heirloom chair, in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. They also have many samples of fabrics to choose from and, as seen in the pictures, the fabric we chose is very suitable to the style of the chair. The guys here at Fine Touch Upholstery did an absolutely amazing job for me. I brought in my old worn out massage table. The vinyl was in tatters, falling off everywhere. I brought it in and requested a custom job. They completely re did the vinyl with special ordered sparkly pink material they got shipped in for me and they got rid of the face hole in the table that I didn't like. They were professional, friendly and did extremely high quality work. They told me it could take up to 3 weeks but had it done in only 1! They gave me a very fair price, an amazing experience and a custom table I am in love with. They even threw in a chair to match it for free. These guys are the best. They restored an antique armchair for me - retied springs, mended arm, recreated the old, soft cushions, and reupholstered with new fabric. The workmanship is beautiful and the results are just gorgeous. And a few years ago I asked them to recover a 1920s club chair with a soft leather, as it had been originally (sometime in the 60s somebody thought green tweed would be nice). I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I feel this one was necessary. Fine touch upholstery produced a low quality piece of work and were argumentative as well. I brought a boat seat in to get reupholstered and was given back an uneven and misaligned product. At first I was willing to reason with Andy. I showed him the concerns I had with the product and my observations were disregarded. I was reluctant to pay for a product that I wasn't happy with. I asked for a price reduction or for the mistakes to be fixed... he suggested that I am just a kid and that it doesn't matter what I think. (I want to make a point that the customers concerns ALWAYS come first.) After paying full price and leaving something didn't sit right with me. I went back to start on a better foot hoping to have the simple mistakes fixed. But, once again, was met with disregard. My boat seat was stripped of the vinyl fabric and was given back bare. The owner Randy was very patient with us and let us take numerous fabric sample books to look through, multiple times. When we finally found what we liked they were very professional with taking our order and made the cushions exactly like we wanted them, down to the pillows. I recently had a chair reupholstered that belonged to my mother. I'm passing it down to my son. With that said,it has sentimental value to me. I was so pleased with the workmanship, the customer service, and the fact they had it finished when promised. I've had bad experiences in the passed, it means a lot to me when people actually do what they say they'll do !!!!! My leather chair has multiple rows of tufting, and they were perfect. they even touched up the wood trim which made it look brand new !!! My mom would be pleased !! Be Careful! I stopped by twice before I brought my trailer cushions in. I brought in pictures with dimensions to ask for a quote and asked if they needed to see them. I was told I didn't need to bring them in. I was given a verbal quote at that time. I then brought in the material and asked about adding trim to the project. I was told an additional $50 per seat. I could live with that and asked when should I bring in the seats. I was told once I had the material to bring it in. I went by today and the price went up another $150. We are now twice the original price! I am very upset that I had stopped by twice and was given a price but then it changed once I got everything on site. read more
