Every single one came off as a car salesman more invested in milking me for all my money than improving my health. I experienced shocking tactics from these "chiropractors" from free visits in exchange for 5 star reviews, to locking me into a payment plan for the next year of care (regardless of if I would respond to treatment), to charging me $300 for an xray before they would adjust me just to adjust me anyway after I refused. I never experienced this with Dr. Sofos. It actually felt MEDICAL as opposed to sales-y. From the moment we met, he was professional and personable. He did an initial examination of my back, sent me for muscle stimulation and heat therapy before adjusting my back, talking through specific nerves and areas of my back with visual aid, and then teaching and assigning me stretches to do for my specific pain. They always treated me with respect and were eager to help me with my chronic headaches. The front desk staff as well are superb--they are kind, caring and work hard to make sure all clients needs are met including reminder calls, working out billing issues etc. The office Manager is fantastic as well-she always was in a good mood and kept me updated if the Chiropractors were running late etc. They try to fit as many appointments as possible into every hr so often there could be a bit of a wait when you get into one of the rooms and they are a bit rushed to have your treatment completed. Unfortunately, the extensive amounts of appointments and money spent did not help my headaches in the end. I went for multiple months and at first 4 days/week for a while, then 3 days and eventually twice a week. I also was paying out of pocket until I met my insurance deductible as well. I suffer from a rare type of headache disorder which does not respond well to Chiropractic Care it seems and perhaps made it worse--I have been going regularly to Physical Therapy and that has given me some relief. Just understand that Chiropractic care will not help EVERYONE, and they do extensive testing to try to design a care plan for you but it is not guaranteed to help in the end...I am glad I gave it a shot however.

The Unabridged Review: In January 2020 I sought out Dr. Handler for Active Release Therapy due to iliopsoas tendonitis. Originally, I intended to receive 12 office visits with him; however, COVID19 interrupted those plans, and managed to get eight visits in before NYS went on "pause." That being said, Dr. Handler helped me by providing the ART treatments themselves, as well as specific exercises to be done at home. Additionally, Dr. Handler also provided cupping therapy, as well as chiropractic adjustments as part of my treatment plan. During the shut down, the exercises at home, along with the "contact avoidance" I was avoiding grabbing railings to get up and down stairs, I have experienced a more pronounced improvement in my conditions. While my issues aren't 100% resolved (and doubtful they ever will be completely 100% resolved), Dr. Handler was able to provide effective pain relief and improved mobility in a more obvious way where ART from another practitioner, as well as various injections from physiatrists failed. Dr. Handler is a capable and caring chiropractor, who is open/receptive to input/feedback from his patients, and has a pleasant personal demeanor and conversational style.
