Once again I went back to the Hollywood police and asked to make a report . This time I had a different person and was able to make the report but the first person I saw was nasty with an attitude . I returned a week later to pick up the report and of course they are only there at certain times .

In the mail. My ticket is stamped at 11:14 a.m. when children are in school!! I am very offended by this because I would never, EVER speed in a school zone. Never have. Children are precious and I would never put them in harm's way. That is a fact. Oddly enough, it says I was going 46 in a 35 mph. Aren't all school zones 15 mph???!! They are NOT 35mph. This felt so scammy. So scammy that when I told my Dad he said no way that is real. Sadly, it is. There is a new law in Hollywood since August or so of 2025. Consider this my PSA to anyone driving in Hollywood. Do not speed by a school. No matter what time of day. Who knows, maybe they use the camera on the weekends too? My "violation" was on a weekday. And there are no signs either. I am a very observant person. Oh yeah, and nobody picks up the phone at Hollywood PD. I called multiple times, pressing different choices, except the one that says I need a police officer. I hope someone picks up the phone to that prompt.

As a Community Manager, I am responsible for the safety and well-being of the residents and staff at the property I manage. Our property has clearly posted "No Trespassing" signs throughout the community. However, when I have contacted BSO for assistance regarding individuals who should not be on the property, there have been occasions when no one responded or deputies arrived well after the situation had already occurred. My greatest concern is safety. In the amount of time it can take for assistance to arrive, a situation can escalate and someone--a resident, employee, visitor, or even the individual involved--could be seriously harmed. I understand that law enforcement must prioritize calls based on urgency and the information provided by dispatch. However, when a property manager is requesting assistance with an active situation on private property, it is discouraging to feel as though the concern is not being taken seriously. Broward County residents and the professionals responsible for managing their communities should feel confident that when we call for assistance, our concerns will be heard and addressed within a reasonable timeframe. I sincerely hope greater attention can be given to response times and communication so that we can work together to keep our communities safe.

We sat there extremely nervous that someone would slam into the back of the car that already hit us. As we sat there 2 BSO officers in cars and 1 motorcycle officer, also BSO passed right by us. Not one of them stopped. The next thing we know, an off duty police officer from the Miramar Police Department, clearly on his way home, stopped. He checked on us and on the person who hit us and let us know he also called in the accident. He let us know he was going to stop traffic for us so we could pull our cars off to the side of the road. He did that. He also waited until Fire rescue arrived. We know he didn't need to stop, but we were happy he did. Someone not paying attention could have hit us again. Because of his actions only our cars were damaged and we all walked away without additional injury. I wish I could tell you that this was the first time they have helped us, however, it was not. When my husband experienced identity theft a few years ago, they were the ONLY law enforcement agency that would write a police report. All the other offices told us it was a waste of time. Kudos Miramar police for taking care of EVERYONE, not just people living in your jurisdiction.
