Once again I went back to the Hollywood police and asked to make a report . This time I had a different person and was able to make the report but the first person I saw was nasty with an attitude . I returned a week later to pick up the report and of course they are only there at certain times .

In the mail. My ticket is stamped at 11:14 a.m. when children are in school!! I am very offended by this because I would never, EVER speed in a school zone. Never have. Children are precious and I would never put them in harm's way. That is a fact. Oddly enough, it says I was going 46 in a 35 mph. Aren't all school zones 15 mph???!! They are NOT 35mph. This felt so scammy. So scammy that when I told my Dad he said no way that is real. Sadly, it is. There is a new law in Hollywood since August or so of 2025. Consider this my PSA to anyone driving in Hollywood. Do not speed by a school. No matter what time of day. Who knows, maybe they use the camera on the weekends too? My "violation" was on a weekday. And there are no signs either. I am a very observant person. Oh yeah, and nobody picks up the phone at Hollywood PD. I called multiple times, pressing different choices, except the one that says I need a police officer. I hope someone picks up the phone to that prompt.

They called it burglary, but what it really was... was a man looking for shelter from the cold world outside. Instead of compassion, they gave him charges. Instead of help, they gave him handcuffs. No one stopped to see that he's struggling with mental health. No one cared that he's homeless, hungry, and lost. What a disgrace. I used to be homeless myself. I remember when things were different -- when officers tried to help you, when they'd take you to a shelter instead of a cell. Places like Broward Outreach, Faith Farm, and House of Hope were created to lift people up, to help rebuild lives. But now... it feels like the system is more focused on destroying lives than saving them. It's heartbreaking. We live in a world that turns its back on the broken -- that punishes people for being lost instead of guiding them home. This man didn't need jail. He needed love. He needed someone to see his pain, not his charges. He needed help, not handcuffs. To everyone out there struggling -- I see you. I've been there. I know the pain of being forgotten by the system. But don't lose hope. God still sees you, even when the world looks away. We sat there extremely nervous that someone would slam into the back of the car that already hit us. As we sat there 2 BSO officers in cars and 1 motorcycle officer, also BSO passed right by us. Not one of them stopped. The next thing we know, an off duty police officer from the Miramar Police Department, clearly on his way home, stopped. He checked on us and on the person who hit us and let us know he also called in the accident. He let us know he was going to stop traffic for us so we could pull our cars off to the side of the road. He did that. He also waited until Fire rescue arrived. We know he didn't need to stop, but we were happy he did. Someone not paying attention could have hit us again. Because of his actions only our cars were damaged and we all walked away without additional injury. I wish I could tell you that this was the first time they have helped us, however, it was not. When my husband experienced identity theft a few years ago, they were the ONLY law enforcement agency that would write a police report. All the other offices told us it was a waste of time. Kudos Miramar police for taking care of EVERYONE, not just people living in your jurisdiction.
