They could have dropped it off the day before so Icould have painted it.

He texted me pictures of latches that were similar to mine and said he would come back to put them on without charge. I let him know that I had purchased the new latches and he set up an appointment to install them. He was prompt and professional and showed up when he said he would. I appreciate his thoroughness and cleaning up everything. He also assembled a small side table for me while he was here and included it in just the cost of the gate repair work. There were other miscellaneous repairs/projects that he completed at my home. I've had a major problem with birds constantly building a nest on top of my stucco post in front of my front door. He custom built a metal netting, painted it, and installed it on top of the post to deter the birds from building any more nests. It was awesome! Brad is someone who can custom build or repair almost anything. He's meticulous, always aiming for perfection, and makes sure you're happy with the outcome. I agreed to the estimate and he agreed to my terms, I pay for materials at store, and he gets paid after. And then...well: 1.) Sends a text that same day on Friday after we met, and wanted to see if he could get paid upfront (deposit) before starting work because he's leaving town with family. And states that he could pick up materials after his trip on Sunday on the way back. I couldn't meet him and offer to go with him to hardware store on Sunday and meet him to pay for materials (in case if we missed anything). I DIDN'T HEAR FROM HIM SUNDAY. 2.) James sends me a text on Monday that he had a family emergency and wants to reschedule for Wednesday. I expressed my sympathies and agreed. 3.) James again sends me a text on Tuesday asking if he could meet with me to collect a deposit. I replied that I think he misunderstood me and and I do not pay for deposits beforehand, but that I could meet him at the hardware store and pay for materials. (THAT TO ME ASSURES THAT THE DEPOSIT IS SPENT SPECIFICALLY ON MATERIALS) 4.) He texts that I'm changing my "story" (whatever that means, this wasn't a damn book club meeting) AND THEN THREATENS ME WITH Better Business Bureau. Terrible customer service, waste of time, and waste of money driving out to meet him. I would give him 1/2 a star, but I can't. So 1 STAR for the Bearded NON-HANDYMAN.
