I tried to return them and the clerk simply said, "That's how they are." She refused to refund my $. She did offer a 10% discount on my next purchase. Needless to say, I now have two very expensive valences that I can't use. Recently, I went to purchase candles, only to discover that they have increased $5.00 in price since my last purchase in the summer. They are charging $18.95 for a small scented candle. Absolutely ridiculous! As well, the clerks stand behind the counter and act as if you are interfering with their personal agendas if you ask for assistance. I have decided that I simply will not shop here any longer. You'd be better to make the drive to Okotoks to a shop called FINISHING TOUCHES. I certainly intend to make the drive to where the pricing and service is reasonable and respectable. There is less selection at FINISHING TOUCHES, but the service is outstanding.

As soon as you walk in you realize this isn't your average thrift store. The store is well laid out, organized and has that fantastic smell of used gear (but in a good way); it all brings back good memories of the past. They have a good assortment of records (yes vinyl is making a comeback). And they are dirt cheap; mostly costing less than a buck! I picked up two records and it cost me a toonie. How great is that!! The store shelves are organized in a great way, great friendly and inviting owners, wonderful jazz music was playing in the background, housewares, books, clothing, toys, electronics and even furniture were available to snap up. Be careful, walk into Junk in the Trunk and you'll be walking into a time-warp that you may not want to leave.

It was all such intriguing merchandise that I spent way more time than necessary looking around at everything. They've got such a unique selection of products in the store like old grandfather clocks, authentic bird cages, and even old school snow shoes. They've got some paintings for sale, most depicting an older, western scene. You can buy couches, beds, dressers, tables, chairs, blankets, pretty much anything you can think of. You have to special order everything, but you get to pick your stain colour and fabrics as well. I think it's cool that you can kind of custom make your own furniture. The lady working there (perhaps the owner?) was really friendly and eager to offer a hand or answer any questions. She directed me to their website, saying that all their products were online. The funny thing is, you can't order anything from the website, only view what they have. It's a high-priced store, but the goods are all so beautiful! Anyways, I ended up having to go into this store and threatening to go to the better business bureau after the owner argued with me in front of my 3 small children about the defective and junk product they sold me as they were refusing to just send me a new cover and fix it. The customer service at this store is the worst I have ever experienced. In the end after dealing with the back and forth for months, I did get a new cover but it is still not fitting properly and I have never heard back from the store. They sent a third party to install the new fabric and then never bothered to follow up. Horrible customer service and junk product.

I found a leaf blower I have needing for ever and it was $60 yellow tag. Paid for it but then I needed to go get charger from back. Well they saw it was a yellow tag and made and excuse that it was hardware instead of garden so someone must have switched the tag to come back for it. So they retagged it a different color but for the exact $60 price. So I think they miss labeled it hardware and used that as an excuse to retag it. They should have honored the price as it was their mess up. Rant over.
