We had our two boys with us (9&11) and they both made sure they were involved and that they caught their fair share of fish. They both worked very hard to make sure we had a great experience. They were knowledgeable about the area and where to find the fish. They were talkative and made sure that the boys learned things as we went through the day about how they knew where to find fish, things about boating, the area and the fish. They had a cooler stocked with ice for us to put our food and drinks in. This was helpful since we were out there for so long. Ben was on point with what needed to be done to ensure we had a great experience also. He was all over the boat hooking up lines, bait, watching multiple lines and helping the kids. Captain Himey also was helping when he wasn't navigating the boat. He knew the hot spots to take us so that we had the best chance of catching fish. On the way in he also stopped along the jetty for the kids to catch a few more small fish, he knew they were there and that they would bit quick. It was a great ending to the day. Everyone had a blast. It was well worth the cost. Wish we would have been able to keep the fish but we couldn't. Not doable in a hotel. The captain and Ben were going to make sure it all went to good use. Great experience, HIGHLY recommend.

RUN - CPT HIMEY / BRANDON ARE THIEVES…read more on June 16th, 2023, my family and other friends booked a private fishing trip with Captain Himey, and another employee by the name of Brandon. What seemed harmless at first quickly devolved into an atrocious nightmare to put it the nicest way possible. We were a small group of 6 people, relatively new to fishing, and wanted a nice birthday surprise for my father. We caught 3 LARGE BLACKFIN TUNA(this is important), Brandon a staff member mentioned that it was the biggest blackfin he's seen on this boat. Toward the end of the trip, CPT HIMEY began to scold my dad out loud about his fishing technique. My dad ignored him so that CPT HIMEY's soft shallow crumbling ego wouldn't dissolve into thin air. CPT HIMEY repeated his rude comments for about 10-15 minutes while nobody responded to him. This was a surprise as it's not only incredibly disrespectful, irresponsible, and unprofessional. We paid a lot of money for a private boat and we should at least expect mutual respect. IF you thought this could not get worse, just wait After the most horrific service I've ever had the grueling pain of experiencing CPT HIMEY & BRANDON are on the phone yelling "What the fuck is this tip, i worked my fucking ass off" in front of us. My family was so happy to get off his boat safely. The man is insane and should not be trusted to drive a boat into the ocean. The boat docks and Brandon starts to cut our fish, we specifically requested that nobody cuts the fish about 4-5 times. He slices the fish poorly leaving lots of meat on the bones and filets cut in half. We watch him cut one Tuna, he says he cut the rest of the fish on the boat. HE REPEATS 3 more times that the other tunas are already cut... strange that they were cut separately. We arrive back home (a 2-hour drive away) We open all our bags and notice that we have 2 filets of tuna in a plastic bag. SURPRISE, they stole two of our fish. We send a photo to the owner of the company. HE calls us to tell us that they were unhappy with their tip and then tells us that they actually just forgot to take out our fish, he later explains that we can drive back to them tomorrow and they will cut the fish. Our immediate question was, you mentioned multiple times the fish is already cut, Brandon and CPT HIMEY also mentioned multiple times on the boat that the fish was cut. We were never given a time or location to meet and simply a "come tomorrow" As if they aren't out on the boats all day. We were reminded multiple times that we should've tipped even more, AS IF our tip warrants the theft of our fish. End of the story is that CPT HIMEY & BRANDON, stole our fish, disrespected my family and the children on the boat. It does not feel safe or welcoming and is not cheap at all. STAY AWAY FROM FINWAY FISHING, WASTE OF TIME MONEY AND FISH. We never received our fish back

A couple of us had sailing experiences, and we wanted a blend of technique training, and relaxation. This is a no-shoe boat, and so is kept relatively clean. Ellen is an incredible chef -- I was quite eager to get the recipe for the mouth-watering quiche she made (which I dearly miss). Ellen and Jean Claude has sailed all over the world, in a way, though their stories, we felt that we have soaked up a bit of that lifestyle. They are both extremely personable and so doesn't have the commercial vibe I've experienced via other charters. We yearn for another sailing trip soon -- hopefully to the Bahamas next time!

Would not recommend this company. Our family wanted to spend an afternoon on the water, we…read morecontacted Yacht Charters of Miami and they had a 70 foot Sunseeker available for charter. We were told to be at the Marina a little before 2, and we would have the boat for 4 hours at a price of 3000.00. We arrived with groceries in hand at 150pm. After calling a few times we were told where to go and waited to be met. At about 2:10 someone met us and told us we would get on the boat in 5-10 minutes. Keep in mind it was 90 degrees full force humidity and we had 9 bags of groceries in the hot sun. Every 10 minutes or so we were told it would be another 10 minutes. At 225pm I directly asked realistically what time we would get on, the response was, "realistically 2:30pm" - this dragged on until 3pm. We had 5 little kids and a newborn in the hot sun waiting to board the yacht. At 3:00, we met the man in charge, the captain and the lady who was to help out, I believe her name was Paula. Not one apology for having us wait, no smiles, just told us to get on board. The first thing we were told was to take our shoes off, they didn't tell us any safety measures, didn't show us around, we just left the docks. At this point we asked if they would be giving us a discount for being an hour late, after checking with the boss they offered us a $230 discount off of the $3000.00 price. I thought it was a joke - to have 5 children and a newborn in hot sun waiting in hour is crazy, we spent more than that at the grocery store getting items for the boat that got ruined in the sun while waiting. When we scheduled to charter the yacht we told them we had young kids, we wanted to drive around and also find a fun place for the kids to snorkel. They said they could do that and that they would have chips, snacks and drinks on board. Luckily we brought our own (although most got melted in the hot sun) because they didn't offer any chips or snacks. The captain is the only reason why I didn't leave 1 star, he was nice and if we asked a question he would respond. Paula was horrible, she didn't help at all. When we stopped to swim she sat on the front of the boat and smoked. Wasn't friendly or polite. I asked for some life jackets for the kids, she pulled them out of a bench and they were soaking wet. They didn't have enough life preservers on board, and none that fit decent. Paula had a bat attitude from the start. We will for sure be chartering a yacht every time we visit Miami - the kids loved being on the water. But, will never again use this company. From the bad attitudes, lack of apology being late and not giving us much of a fun day overall - I would never recommend to charter a boat from them. I have since looked at other companies and you can get a much nicer boat from a more reputable company for a lot less. Bottom line, we wanted to have a fun afternoon with our family - we still did, but were challenged by the bad attitudes and lack of professionalism of this company.
