It's 2025 and there is still not an option to give zero stars…read more My heart is absolutely shattered from the loss of my son and Valley Memorial Park did the unfathomable. We are on day 3 of this heartbreaking process only to find out that their Director, Dustin Weatherwax, was lying to us the entire time. We were told on Monday that their staff would dispatch their transportation team to pick up my son either Monday night or Tuesday morning. I called and spoke to Dustin on Tuesday, late morning, and he told me that the staff was en route to get my son...as in actually on their way to Tillamook. I called back later in the afternoon/evening to see if my son had arrived and was told that the on-call Director would reach out. Less than an hour later, I received an email by the on-call Director, Dean Brunick, and was informed that he didn't see anything in their system regarding my son's arrival. Apparently Dean is the only Director that is willing to tell the truth. Even at that point, I'm trying to be understanding as we are not their only customer. I thanked Dean and told him I will try to reach Dustin the following day. Wednesday morning I called again and was told that "Dustin is in a meeting all day and he will call you when he can". I finally smartened up and called Waud's funeral home in Tillamook to check the whereabouts of my son and was informed that "yes, we were told by Valley Memorial that they were going to pick your son up yesterday but no one showed up." The Director, Mike, told us that he would reach out to Dustin, or any other Director, at Valley Memorial and call us back. Less than 10 minutes later, Mike called us back as promised with an update from Valley Memorial which is odd since Dustin (we were told was the only one that can give us an update) was supposed to be in a meeting all day but hey...I digress. Mike, Director at Waud's Funeral Home in Tillamook, did us the kindness of putting us out of our misery by simply telling us the truth. He informed us that "they wouldn't be able to pick up your son until Friday". Mike asked if that was communicated to the family and they responded yes. My son is gone and my family is forever changed and they couldn't care less. Couldn't even tell us the truth, with the exception of Dean. May God deal with you as He sees fit. Do better by people! It's your place of work but it's where our hearts shatter...do better!

They have business hours on the week day which for anyone else that works 9-5 you will not be able to come visit. On Saturday they have short hours and are only open until 2 pm if I remember right. Twice we came to see our family and the place was locked up tight. We had flowers in hand and it was well before their closing time. The first time this happened we were upset but we just drove away. The second time we were upset enough to call. Luckily someone answered the phone which was forward to their personal cell. They had no idea that no one was there. After waiting about 15-20 minutes some one came and let us in to visit our family. On a positive note the place is clean and when fresh flower die they remove them and place fake ones in place of the fresh ones. We thought this was nice of them. The grounds outside are also very well kept.

My only complaint would be that my loved one died on a Saturday morning. I tried to contact them on Sunday during business hours and spoke with someone who said a funeral director would call me back, but no one did. However, once I called on Monday and spoke directly with a funeral director, everything proceeded smoothly from there. All the paperwork is done on-line. Their prices are good, a big part of this is likely because the office on Millikan (in the City Hall Building in the Beaverton Round) is apparently just a small office with low overhead. The cremation is done through Riverview Abbey. It was done quickly and I was able to pick them up at the Millikan office (you can also pick up at Riverview Abbey). They can mail them to you as well. Obtaining death certificates through them was also easy, as was getting an obituary posted to their website. They are very professional, responsive, and happy to help.
