Today I went to a birthday party for my nephew that was held in the Community Room at Fire Station…read more#6 in Springfield. The room was modest but was equipped with tables, chairs, a sink, a fridge, a microwave, a TV and a few other amenities. My sister in law organized the party and did a good job. Everyone had a good time. We were in the actual fire house, but we were not disturbed by anyone. I would recommend renting the room for birthdays and small parties. The room was reasonably sized, and probably can hold approx 50 seated people comfortably . While each of the four stations are different and contain different amenities, reserving any of them is a simple procedure. Simply go to the above mentioned website and click on the link for community room rental procedures. Expect a $25.00 non-refundable deposit. I do not know what the rental fees are, but you can find out by calling when you place the reservation. There are a few rules that you'll need to abide by, such as no smoking or drinking on the premises and being respectful of the firefighters and the property. All rules are lined out in the rental agreement. Enjoy!
