I assumed they did engineering design work. I was wrong - although they may also do the engineering design work. They are not always located at the office on Chippewa but I was told that Wednesday and Fridays someone would be there. Note that the front door is locked but if someone is there, they will answer. I mean, it's not located in the best of the best neighborhoods. I was greeted by two men and they were super nice and happy to collect my four old extinguishers. Don't trash your old extinguishers! Take them here for recycle or recharge or whatever they do with them.

Every six months we were sent a bill to renew our service, and we never agreed to auto-renew. When my wife and I moved to Chicago, we disconnected our internet... which should have prompted Assurance Protection to make sure that our everything was OK. They never noticed. Instead, after months of them having no way of not monitoring our alarm, they not only never noticed... but insisted on charging us full price for the past few months of NO SERVICE! I wonder how long before that they stopped checking on our ability to alert them! To top it all off, Donna, their uber-rude customer service lady, refused to even consider removing their bogus service charge despite it being for service neither asked for nor provided. When I became more insistent, she hung up on me. When I called back and asked why she hung up on me, she told me that I need to "find Jesus" and hung up on me again! I'm not sure which Jesus SHE believes in, but she sure seemed the polar opposite of the one in the Bible that I grew up reading! Don't you love it when dishonest people hide behind self-righteousness? Whatever you do, DO NOT TRUST the important matter of protecting your family and belongings to this nightmare of a company!

I had some furnace maintenance work completed this week and the technician advised I did not have…read morethe required smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detector in my house. There was an old yellow detector in the upstairs hallway and downstairs hallway that were no longer working. I made the mistake of thinking that since I had purchased the home a couple years ago that the existing detectors were working. I was worried after being informed that I did not have the necessary detectors and called around locally and to the Fire Department but unable to reach anyone to answers my questions. I found Smoke Detector Services on the internet and decided to call as I was encouraged by their website. What is amazing is that I am in California and this business is located in Chesterfield, Missouri! Chris answered the phone and I explained to him my situation. He asked a couple of questions and when he realized I had tried to get help locally and unable to - he was more than helpful. Chris is an expert as his website details based on his experience as a Firefighter and Veteran. But more importantly you can tell he cares about the lives of people who may not have detectors, proper detectors etc. I had already started to look at the yellowed detector which I found out talking to Chris was a combination hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detector. He asked about the brand which was FireEx and explained that is now the Kidde brand. Chris provided the current model number and explained that I should be able to buy at Home Depot or Lowes. He also provided the model number for the smoke detectors that I could purchase and install in the bedrooms. Chris provided all the necessary safety information that I would need to install the detectors. I am an older person and fortunately my son who had a rare day off from his law enforcement work was able to help me. The installation went smoothly because of all the help and information Chris provided. Sometimes a person can receive inaccurate information from a source. Chris's information was spot on, the make and model number and where to purchase! Chris referenced the requirements from California State Fire Marshall's Office and sometime after speaking to Chris, I did receive a return call from my local Building Inspector's Office which was great. The Inspector who was very helpful reiterated everything I was told by Chris! Chris from Smoke Detector Services is professional, an expert, caring and sincere in protecting families and homes just as his website states. I would contact Chris again if I have any questions and definitely to do the work in person if I lived in the area!!!
