On the track after the final race.
    Tim M.

I came here for the NHRA Finals on Sunday 10/16/11 and I had a great time. The last time I was out here was about 10 years ago for some Top Fuel Hydro races and honestly, not a lot has changed (except for pricing lol). Also I think every ticket is eligible for pit area access now. Years ago you had to purchase a pit pass if you wanted to check that section out. If you do decide to visit the pit area be sure to stand behind a Dragster or Funny Car when they start it up. Its one of the coolest things you'll ever experience although its not recommended for the faint of heart. Once that NitroMethane fills the air around you your eyes, nose and throat immediately start to burn. It wears off pretty fast but its funny to see everyone running towards fresh air while coughing ( I won't lie, I was one of them). My overall experience was amazing although its probably better to go during the February races, due to the fact that its still pretty hot out there in October. Be sure to bring enough cash because everything is pretty pricey but thats to be expected. I think a large beer was about $9.50. GEEZUS!!! Oh and also plan on spending a good half hour trying to get out of there after the races. If you're not in a hurry to leave try to stick around because traffic is a nightmare right after the final race. You can waste some time by going down on the track, which, by the way is really, really sticky (one of my shoes almost fused to the track :D). Or you can buy some discounted food and drink but its definitely not a good idea to leave right away.

Big bore race group cars on Firebird east track

I come here to go to Pro Autosports and NASA events. NASA is having road racing on the East track 3-25-14 and 3-16-14 and I went today to hang out with friends and take a few pics. The track is nice and you can bring your sports car and run on the road course. They have different classes for different types of cars and levels of drivers. If you have not run before you have to take a class and get a license but is fun and you will get an instructor to help you learn to drive safe and fast on the course.

Second spin class ever and now I'm reminded on why I didn't sign up for more spin classes after the first class I took (also with Yelp). The bike remains stationary but you'll go to Hell and back. Stand up, sit down, run, push ups, add that tension, and ride that bike like you stole it! Everything hurts... You'd be surprised how heavy a 4lb. bar can get when you're pulsing for three minutes with it. Thank you Yelp, Hailey B., and Cyclebar for helping me get some cardio in today! I wish you much success! And props to Heather for being a GREAT instructor! I'm glad I don't work tomorrow. I think I broke my girly bits on my bike...

The owner and staff were marvelous. Dry towels and wet towels provided before and after the class. Facility, locker and equipment were spotless. The check in process was great too. Tell them the shoe size, find your name, and bike number on one of two tablets then you're done. That simple! It was just not my day. My locker key didn't come out after I locked. I had a hard time adjusting the seat and clicking on/off my shoe. The owner helped me finally got the shoe clicked on and bike adjusted. I guess some of the equipment and shoes were still really new. I do not suggest signing up for a bike in the back corner unless you like HOT cycling. You will have limited a/c. The big water bottle was perfect. It didn't matter the water wasn't as cold. The best source of proteins before and after the class: power bars, Fire Pie pizza, salads, beers, wines, and bubbly. Best workout to burn off all that and the next day too. Thank you to Cycle Bar for hosting and Hailey for coordinating another work it YEE!

The ambience was as expected and the restaurant is very nicely decorated and feels very comfy at the same time. They had this AMAZING garlic, butter bread, that was too DIE for!! I still crave it today!! (Bring it back!!!! Pretty, pretty please!! I've had Nonna's bread, and it's not even close to this treasure!!) Anywho, the service was great, our server was knowledgeable of the drink and food menus! We got great suggestions!! Food arrived hot and delicious!! Our server checked in on us, but not overwhelmingly attentive. It's a balance and takes being aware, even when not directly at tables. The meatballs to sauce had a good balance, although there are times when I ask for an additional side of sauce, especially when I know I'm taking some home! The servers are always happy to do that for me! The pasta dish was so good, it's a large meal, so I took half home. Our drinks were spot on too, so good, chilled to perfection. Can't wait to go back!! Also, we walked to the desert bar and took some fresh tiramisu (not photographed) home!! So yummy and a decent sharing size!

First, accommodating a party that large can't be easy, but the staff handled everything smoothly and provided great service throughout the meal. What stood out most to me was the food. I ordered the vegetarian pizza (with tomato sauce vs cheese to make it more vegan friendly). It was topped with artichokes, hearts of palm, and olives, and it was absolutely delicious!!! The flavors were well-balanced, and everything was seasoned perfectly. Between the excellent service and the outstanding food, this was a fantastic first experience. I'll definitely be returning!

Showed up and the restaurant was relatively busy with only a few open tables inside. The restaurant has a fish tank with some large fish which was cool. We were immediately greeted to get drink orders. We ended up ordering the 10 inch Tuscan pizza (it came cut into 6 slices). We also ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca. After about 15-20 minutes both dishes arrived. The Chicken Saltimbocca was outstanding. The flavor was delicious. Would highly recommend. The Tuscan pizza was also great. We were worried it might be dry but did not have a problem. Overall, the meal was wonderful and we will definitely come back to try more. Our server was kind and efficient and overall it was an awesome meal.

When we entered, we were advised to be seated wherever we liked with menus on a table to grab. Our server was over pretty quickly, and appreciated him offering an appetizer and entree suggestion. What We Ordered: - Cucumber Elderflower Spritz: I've been on a spritz kick since having one at the beginning of the year at Disney World. The perfect refreshing drink for a humid day after rain in July (2" in Apache Junction). Loved the cucumber and elderflower combination, and would definitely order again! - Shrimp Medina: The server recommended, and our favorite of the meal. The scampi butter with the heat of the red chili flakes was perfect. I'd honestly look to see if there is a pasta dish like this next time as that sounds like perfection. - La La Vodka: My friend ordered this, and said it was pretty good. She remarked how large it was and wish for a lunch portion that you could order half, but thankfully, we were heading back to her house after to be able to drop off leftovers. - Pasta Picante: This was recommended, but I wasn't all that fond of it. It was not really spicy, and I didn't like the sausage in the dish. It could have just been my preferences, but my friend ended up taking as leftovers her kids would enjoy. Overall, this place had both comfortable seating and comfort food. Italian is one of my favorite things to dine, and get that dopamine fix from pasta. I'll definitely return and explore another entree more suited to my preferences.

We got there around 2:00, got in line and waited about 20 minutes when a staffer comes out with a bullhorn telling everyone that they're not selling anymore tickets until 4 pm because they ran out of food. See... this event was supposed to go from 10am-9pm on Saturday, but by 1:30pm when we arrived they announced via megaphone that no more tickets were being sold and they were apparently "out of meat". Please tell me how an event which is supposed to go all day until 9pm blows it load just three hours into the festivities? To make matters worse, when we were turned away they explained that they'd be re-opening ticket sales at 4pm and more food would be available. So we planned our whole afternoon around this, and wasted time until 4. When we arrived for our second attempt of the day, to our shigrin they changed their minds yet again and reneged on what they had said earlier. Now... tickets were on sale for five bucks... but there was no BBQ!!!! No BBQ at a BBQ Fest... ex-fucking-scuse me? Basically five bucks to walk around and stare at a bunch of empty BBQ reminants... it just didn't make much sense. So many people drove across town to come here (including us) and I really hope next time they put some more time into the planning of this event... it has promise. Hopefully we'll be able to return next year and actually be able to review the food... and not the ill planned event itself. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
