Meg B.

We've stayed at the San Marcos for years and have always walked by Crust to and from the hotel as we walk around the cute downtown We finally stopped in for a graduation dinner and it was relatively good. We had some house wine, apps, and a mix of entrees and pizzas. I also tried the charcuterie board. The pizza was great! My husband got a dish with chicken and the chicken was awful! Paper thin and super chewy. Luckily the server was kind and helped us find something else too eat. I had quite the hang over the next day which I can only attribute the wine. OVerall this was a little over hyped in my head. I don't think we'd return with other eateries in the area.

Bruschetta

Walked in at 5pm on a Friday for appetizers. We were seated immediately. There were a few groups seated at the bar and only 2 other parties seated at tables. There were misters going outside for parties that want to be outside. The AC was on inside and felt great. We ordered the bruschetta board (giardino, funghi, and carciofi) and the meatball appetizer. The appetizers took less than 10 minutes to come out. The meatballs were good! It came with 3 meatballs and 3 small corners of toasted bread. The ricotta under the meatballs was a great add to the plate. Overall, they were solid. The bruschetta was a swing and a miss. The funghi was quickly deemed our least favorite. We both took one bite and did not finish the rest. The carciofi was decent. Nothing special. The giardino was so simple that it was not memorable, and it was still our favorite anyway. Overall, we would not recommend the bruschetta. Our server was kind and quick to help. The restaurant overall was nice inside.

Penne Alla Vodka with grilled chicken

The grilled chicken with the penne vodka was super dry. I really liked the calamari and the rustica. I love the mariana used for it. Our server was fun and friendly, made us laugh a lot. Lots of seating inside and out. some parking infront of the place.

I really enjoy going to Crust! Every time I go it never disappoints me. This is my first time trying their cocktails, if you love a strawberry sprite spritz type of cocktail.. the Sorry, not sorry is so good and not too strong! The penne alla vodka pasta was fresh and not too heavy on the sauce. The Mediterranean salad sauce paired perfectly with the salad, red onions, and tomatoes! I loved this salad so much! The restaurant is a bit noisy so if you don't like to speak a bit louder or need a quieter space, take note of this

Not my first time, certainly won't be my last. Boyfriend and I came here last week for our post-work week yap session! A slice and a glass of wine are perfect for that, and the vibes were mega chill on a Monday. This is our go to lunch spot in DT Chandler for the reliable service, delicious food, and that you can pretty much order whatever mood of Italian you're in! Our current lunch spot to invite friends to- they even have gluten free options that are well loved my by gluten free girlfriends! The knots are spicy, the Upside Down HALF PIE is MASSIVE and fed my entire family (me) for 4 days straight, the service is friendly, and the parking is tight bc this place is popular! Thanks Crust!

My wife and I have enjoyed going to Crust in Scottsdale over the years while ordering food to go. Today, I tried Crust in Chandler with my work colleagues as I ordered a 20 inch pizza to go. Similar to what I have done in Scottsdale, I spent some time at the bar while waiting for my order to be ready. Most of the time, I have ordered food in advance so it was ready when I pulled up. Today, I ordered a pizza online to be ready at a certain time; however, as I arrived well before that time, the team in the kitchen did a wonderful job preparing it to be ready more than ten minutes before the original time. The staff were wonderful, and I am glad I stopped by this location today as the restaurant has great reviews and delicious food! The twenty-inch pizzas were large and delicious whether the New York or Margherita pizzas, which I have ordered both before. I have also shared a salad with my wife whether the Caesar (romaine, parmesan, and croutons) or Mediterranean Farm Salad (farro, field greens, roasted artichokes, cucumber, tomato, pickled red onion, feta, and house vinaigrette). Today, I only ordered a 20 inch New York pizza with pepperoni. It was huge, filling, and delicious! There are three locations at this point in time. There is "Chandler and the Ostrich," "Gilbert and the Blue Heron," and then "Scottsdale and the Goose." By going to https://crustrestaurants.com, you can get on the waitlist for any of the locations. The Chandler location is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. On weekdays from 3 PM to 6 PM, there are Happy Hour deals. On Sundays and Mondays, there are $15 NY Pie To Go deals while on Mondays, there are also half priced wine bottles all day. You can also sign up for the Knead To Know Newsletter at the bottom of the web page to learn about specials. Also on their website, they have lunch and dinner menus along with a drink menu and dessert menu. Speaking of specials, if you sign up for their birthday club, you can get a coupon for $18 off a meal the week of your birthday with five days to use it. Enjoy!!

They have a speak easy underground bar downstairs under the restaurant. Supposed to be the best for a great cocktail to get.

Meat Lasagna

We had great food at this location. We stopped by on a Sunday for an early dinner and it wasn't relatively busy. The hostess was not at the stand when we walked up to the door but she quickly ran over to us and said to pick a table. We picked a table inside and she dropped off the menus. We looked them over and our server then came over and said hi. She brought us waters and we then ordered our food. We ordered: Calamari Meet Lasagna Supreme pizza The calamari was delicious. It was crispy, well seasoned, and it came out HOT. The lasagna was also delicious and very meaty. The cheese was gooey and the sauce was well seasoned. The bread it was served with was warm and soft. The pizza was huge and had plenty of toppings on top. I wasn't much of a fan as I felt like it had no flavor? Our waters sat empty for a bit and when we needed our server for condiments she was MIA. She then finally came over as we were halfway done. I'll definitely be back for some more lasagna and calamari, those two were delicious!

I was staying at the crowne plaza hotel and this is pretty much right outside the lobby of the hotel. I ordered to go so I didn't really experience service however the place has very open seating and nice decor. The bar is a nice size and tons of TVs to catch sports. I ordered an appetizer entree and dessert to eat back at my room. When I got to my room I had found my whole order was wrong. I called the restaurant spoke with the manager and they painlessly made it right. They allowed me to keep the food they made in error and put a rush on my order. The food was very yummy. The dessert was their chocolate peanut butter cake and I wasn't a fan. Inside was literally a cup of peanut butter. The bruschetta sampler was on point tho! Oh and the manager gave me a $15 gift certificate for the hassle. Very nice people. Would go again to try dine in!

The location has a quaint, house-style feel with beautifully manicured grounds. The large doors were open, allowing a lovely breeze to flow through, a welcomed touch. There's also a convenient parking lot right next door, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! Hubby ordered rigatoni with Bolognese and steak meatballs. I didn't taste it, but he really liked it. My son ordered Caccio e Pepe pappardelle. I tasted it and it was very yummy. I had the meatball ferris wheel which is literally a little ferris wheel with little bowls with a different kind of meatball in each. The Ferris wheel ended up just making it harder to eat, but I do think the novelty of it is cute. That said, I was super disappointed. I liked the steak meatball pretty well and the arabbiata was yummy, but the rest were mediocre for me. I love meatballs but, honestly, I've had meatballs that I like better elsewhere. My bread was also over-toasted, making it kind of like a hard crumbly rock. Our server was very nice and quite friendly, but both my husband and I noticed that she actually boxed the food at the two tables near us for those people, but for us, just just dropped off boxes and a bag at our table and left us to do it ourselves. I don't mind doing it myself, but what made us different from the other tables? All in all it was good. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked and sooo good and the Saganaki was also delish. The meatballs, not so much for me.

We were greeted immediately when we walked in and brought straight to a good table in spite of our early arrival. Within a couple of minutes Erin our server came to introduce herself. We began with cocktails. A double Makers Mark on the rocks and a straight-up Tito's martini. Both done just as we like them and generous. First course was the Calamari. We're former New Yorkers so being a Calamari snob is expected. This offering, which delivered a bit of Scungilli as well, was really done well. Not heavy on the bread crumbs and not at all rubbery. The accompanying sauce was very tasty. We followed up splitting a Caesar Salad that we devoured. When we ordered our entree, Linguini and White Clam sauce, we asked Erin about the portions and she read us well. She suggested that we might be overwhelmed by the size of it so we split that also. Turned out to be a great idea. We devoured that too. Done just the way I like it. So good that I ordered a glass of Italian white wine to go with it. Normally, we don't have dessert but, Erin didn't bring the dessert menu. She just looked right at us and said: "We have the best carrot cake in the entire valley"! I must say that presentation was tough to look down my nose at so we split an order of carrot cake. I think I can say it really was the most interesting and best carrot cake I have ever had. Throughout the entire meal Erin kept an eye on us and made sure there wouldn't be a reason for us to wave her over. She's definitely a pro. She was even nice enough to laugh at my really bad jokes. A shout-out to the food runners as well. They were on time, friendly and polite. In closing, I have to salute the management. The dining room was clean, organized, and nicely appointed. They have attracted a pretty nice clientele if my observations were correct. There was plenty of conversations happening but no shouting or yelling. It is just a comfortable place to have a nice dinner out. I highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try.
