Bloody wonderful. At last we we see enterprising people who care about food first, offering really fresh grub at reasonable prices and taking a real risk opening at what I hope is at the tail end of lock down.
The fact it's a food cart is neither here nor there as long as the food is top notch and as free from chemicals and fats as possible.
The menu (see photo) is in three segments, base, main food choice and the dressing. There's also jars of onion pickle, roast peanuts and other tasty goodies to add to enhance flavours.
I opted for Bao buns as my first section choice, and I can tell that they were fresh, home made - and oh so good. So very good.
I opted for Ardglass fish as the filling (no airmiles as Ardglass port is 2 miles away) and the batter on the ultra fresh haddock (may be cod) was as light as it possibly can be. I opted for a hoisin dressing which really added to the great tasting Bao and crispy fish. I got 3 Bao with fish and it was not just tasty food but really satisfying.
It was a tough choice mind; they also offered snap & crackle pork belly and done right it's the food of the gods.
The food was packaged into biodegradable containers with wooden cutlery so 5 green stars too. My Yelp friend James would approve.
My wife and son opted for the chicken & French fry choices with the French fries dusted with Chinese spices. We were all agreed that this food is as good as it gets.
Footnote we went back this week (3 April) different food offerings including pork & prawn wanton soup and Thai curry & rice (see photos) which was even better than last week. Really superb. read more
