We figured a nice get-away will keep him from continuing his projects and allow him time to heal. This is a beautiful, but small campground with a creek running nearby. Despite what others have said, we have not seen any gators. ( At home we have gators living down the street.). This has been a beautiful respite for us, getting away from the decisions and craziness, but not being far from home. The Park Ranger is a very kind and friendly man. He will help you with any questions or issues you may have, with his gorgeous smile on his face. We will be back again gladly, anytime.

We came to Colleton State Park as Snowbirders from northern NY. We arrived on November 16th and…read morewill be here until December 31. We couldn't ask for a nicer or better run campground. The camp host, David, and his wife, Misty, are just amazing. The Rangers are very helpful as well. The campground is right on the Edisto River. You can rent canoes directly across the river or bring your own. It's a wonderful flat water canoe or kayak paddle. The sites here are very nice with a fair amount of space between them. The bathrooms are fairly old, but always immaculate. The showers are incredible for a campground. The water is always as hot as you want, and it can be run for as long as you like. I don't think anyone could ever go wrong staying here. Of course, I don't know what it's like in the Summer - probably a lot more crowded with families. Right now it's incredibly peaceful.

The course was in really good shape. Greens were perfect. I don't, however, like the practice…read morethat ALL the courses have there in Santee of cutting multiple cups on a hole and putting that little green disk over the 5 they don't use that day, and just moving the pin around for weeks. Makes for a used hole, I think. But, the course is well laid out, has some challenging holes and some great views. Put a little money in the sand traps and that'll go a long way towards making this place very very good. I'll be back for sure!

Had a brand new cart which was nice but no GPS which would have helped. They said the carts were so new they didn't have time to install the GPS, which is a bit bogus to me. 7:15 tee time and had the course to ourselves. Good value on package with Clark's Inn. The owner really is rude. It's as if they're doing it on purpose. Strange., We actually lived in…read morethe same neighborhood, tried to give them as much business as possible, but every single trip, it was as if we had never been there before....or spent tons of money. Staff is ok, but things tend to rot from the top, so checking out became such an insult, we just gave up and drove 6 miles to Elloree and Helmsly Brothers. Three times the size, enormous selection, and they actually treat you like they're glad you're there! We learned about them from one of our neighbors. Most locals drive the extra 6 miles. It's worth it!
