**Sold me a bad/faulty expired product and didn't care when I brought it to their attention.** On one long friday after work I decided I wanted to wind down and buy an Ayrloom weed drink to relax. I asked for the 4 pack but they only had 3 in stock. The general manager HIMSELF was like to make it 4 I can give you the one on the shelf, I'm like cool. One night I drink two of the drinks. The first tasted amazing. I decided I wanted to go even further and have a second one, but this product tasted like chemicals/expired/idk what. But I definitely know what it's supposed to taste like because I drank the same one literally 1 hour prior. That night I also ended up getting sick with a sore throat from whatever it was I drank. Anyways I check the lot number on the bottom of the can and it has no valid code except "for display ONLY" on the can. So I call the store and speak to this employee who tells me I can have an exchange because I was sold a faulty product. So l walk 20 minutes to the store and get the general manager again to assist me. I explain the situation, how the product tasted expired and had an untraceable lot number on the bottom but he dismissed me and tried to get me to buy something else. After walking 20 minutes home again, I called the store to ask to speak to him to explain further and at least let him know to stop giving customers products whose origins cannot be traced. However, he told the employee that answered to tell me "he was in a meeting" (what meeting is taking place at a dispo) and shooed me off the phone. I'm not one to leave a review like this but it's the principle, of the situation. To sell faulty products and when it's brought to your attention you dismiss the person and make them out to be crazy for bringing it to your attention. I am a frequent shopper here and I'm not about to trip over a $5 drink when I could be doing other things, that's embarrassing. But the manager himself made a major error and didn't care how it affected the customer. Shop at your own risk. read more

I realized this establishment is a black-owned buisness, so I decided to support them. Unfortunately, I don't know who gave them 5 stars but it's a 1 star for me. Their prices are bit higher than other shops and they don't restock their supply as often as they should. The staff is nice, but you can tell business is slow, and simple products like a pre-roll is hard to get at a reasonable price. They lost me to Brooklyn Bourne I can't lie. read more

I found out about Fireleaf on Facebook the other day. It so happens they are 7 blocks from my apartment. I was greeted at the door when I walked in. The bartender was very friendly & she's very knowledgeable. It was a great experience and I will be a returning customer. read more

I found the closest shop to where I was staying, and as always checked their Yelp reviews. Fifteen minutes away is more like 30 minutes with Brooklyn traffic. Well worth the trek! I called first and spoke with Jeff to make sure they had what I needed. He wasn't sure, but I asked about alternatives, and he confirmed they carried coils and tanks. Fine. If they don't have my coils, I'll just buy a new tank. Well, they had my coils, and at a very reasonable price. I started to talk to Vinny and had a nice conversation about a few things we have in common. The guys were so cool that I didn't want to leave with just a box of coils. I asked Vinny to sell me something else--just because... He showed me a pod system and I bought that and an extra box of coils for it. I will be back and plan to buy all my vape supplies from this great store in the future. No need to buy online anymore. Cool store. Cool people. Go check it out. You'll become a loyal customer. Businesses like this deserve to be supported. They're the lifeblood of the neighborhood.

10 days into the new year and the one resolution I've never been able to, er, resolve: quit…read moresmoking. So I found Wyse Vapes on Yelp and wandered in this afternoon just to do some window shopping and maybe get a gist of what this whole vaping thang is about. Am I glad this was the first vape shop I went to, because Wyse Vapes is fabulous!!! First of all, the place is clean and airy (pun intended)--customers talking vapespeak and pluming away at the long spacious counter notwithstanding. On the left behind the counter shelves and shelves of e-liquids line the walls like a candy-colored apothecary. On the right in glass cabinets are a plethora of e-cigarettes, hookahs, box mods and vaping contraptions of all shapes and sizes. I must've looked like an idiot cuz I stood there bewildered and overwhelmed for what seemed like an eternity. One of the staff (Tanya, bless her) didn't make like a pushy salesperson and quietly waited behind the counter. But when I got over my initial discombobulation and asked for her help, she went above and beyond to show and explain the difference between (oh heck can I just call these doovalackeys "vaping gadgets"???) and let me test drive a few. With the patience of a saint she answered all my questions, even when I had to ask repeatedly (okay so I'm not good with mad scientist Rube Goldberg-esque stuff). Martin (the other staff guy) was equally helpful and neither of them made me feel like a dork for being a vaping noob. Tanya helped me find the perfect combination of atomizer & tank system. I was still overwhelmed by the sheer volume of e-liquid options, so I went for two basics: Sweet Tobacco and Blizzard, both of which I was allowed to sample at my leisure. The prices are fair and comparable to what you find elsewhere. Sure I could probably get what I got for $5-$10 less online, but let me just say that for the amazing customer service I received today, not only is that price difference negligible but it's well worth it. I went home happy and have been blowing smoke rings and geeking out with my new toy. No doubt I'll return to Wyse Vapes soon...if not for new e-liquid then for an extra atomizer cartomizer thingee or maybe even a bigger better box mod! Plume on, Wyse Vapes!

It's honestly more than just a vape shop it's like a second home to a lot of people. Everyone is extremely friendly and you will always meet someone new to talk to and enjoy a nice talk. I hear they are adding a few more really cool features to the shop so I'm definitely excited to see what will happen. Did I mention they have free parking in the back!

Filled it w/some water & let it sit 4 a few minutes while I did other stuff. When I came back 2 it, I noticed the piece of furniture it sat on was wet. I realized this silicone bong was leaking from the bottom. I wiped it down, the furniture too & filled it again w/less water. Again, it leaked. I could feel the water coming out of the seam on the bottom. The next evening, I went back 2 the store w/the defective bong. The owner was there, not the sales man. I showed her the leaky bong, as I had brought it in a plastic bag w/ water in the bong. She graciously said she would replace it 2,morrow night. There were no others in the store. 2morrow in the AM she would pick some up. She said stop by tomorrow night. I said 2 her I live a bit far, here is my #, please call me when u have the replacement bong She took my number, though it was obvious she did not want 2. I started 2 tell she was all lip. I tried 2 give her the defective bong, she kept telling me she had no use 4 it & told me if I did not want it 2 toss it. The next day came and went. No call. The day after the sun rose and the sun set and no call. On the third day I called the shop and the guy who sold me the bong answered and he said... oh yeah, Elle (the boss) told me to tell you that you are putting too much water in the bong. It is a small bong and does not need a lot of water he relayed to me from her. I told him, I already tried putting less water in and that less water would only be the answer to the problem if the water was leaking from any place else but the seam on the bottom of the bong. He then started to go wild with me on the phone calling me a 'dude' and telling me she just told him today about this in case I should come by. When I asked him to give her my number and have her call me he told me to ###k off and hung up the phone. OH, before doing so, he told me there are a lot of signs in the store that state NO REFUNDS. The next day I drafted a letter to the shop asking them to replace the bong. I advised them I would give them 15 days or so to do so before I would proceed with small claims court. The letter was sent certified mail and a few days after I got a voice mail message from someone - a person that never left their name - calling me and saying they are calling from Legal Services. They commented in their message to me that my letter was absurd. No legal service of any kind would every leave that type of a message. I very clearly recognized this voice as the owner, Ellee. I called back, got a voice mail box, left a message and never heard back from her. Regardless of the cost of this silicone bong, he did give me a good price, but hey I did buy two, b t w, the other bong is glass, they did not do the correct thing. As the owner originally stated to me, she would replace it. We know she never did. And she is a game player, inventing herself as legal services. WTF. As for the guy who sold this item to me, he was so nice in the store helping me, but our phone call proved that this 'dude' couldn't take the pressure. In fact, I was glad I did not go back to the store because I sensed in or phone call that this guy could be dangerous when met in person. As for the signs all over the store stating there is no refund, that's OK but not applicable to merchandise that is damaged. Frankly, I did no see such a sign or signs but I would think that if that is the store's policy, they should inform you of this verbally at check out. And by law, it is required to be stated on the receipt. But again, according to federal, city and state law, a no refund policy does not apply to damaged merchandise. AND, I was not asking for a refund. all I wanted was a replacement. Next stop... Small Claims Court. OH and I may tack on the cost of my damaged fine wood furniture that this bong leaked on. At at time when their relationship with the community should be very important to them, they obviously are a turn off to this customer who will never return to their shop again and I will post this review accordingly.

I visited right after opening, a little after 10 am (many businesses do not open until 11am, like my beloved Seed+Mill). My first impression was that it reminded me of a food hall similar to what I experienced in various cities in Japan. The variety of foods available is impressive and you really can find it all here, from an Italian grocer to Japanese to the various food stands offering everything from BBQ to the best halvah I've ever had. And there's a Pearl River Mart and other places to find gifts and souvenirs. My favorite of this ilk is Muji Market, which has all the Japanese amazing things! Also of note: very clean bathrooms. It reminds me of the bathrooms at Grand Central, a lot of stalls, sinks in the center, only much, much more pleasant. I'll be back as soon as I can. It's silly that I didn't come here when I actually lived in New York.

Wanted to highlight a few more stores here for this review: - Moon Man Foods: a Brooklyn-based company, they have a small stand about a third of the way thru the market (walking east to west), selling southeast Asian kaya jam, which is coconut-based and contain eggs, coconut milk, sugar, starch, and salt. They come in pandan, ube, and Java palm sugar (aka gula melaka) flavors. - Pearl River Mart and Pearl River Mart Foods: back in the day they used to be located in SoHo on Broadway, though rising rents made them relocate, and I'm glad they're still around! They carry all sorts of Asian-inspired decor, serving ware, stationery, and their "Foods" location downstairs is combination of Asian grocery, bubble tea (Milk & Tea), and Korean and Chinese snack/takeout stands (Kimbap Lab and Mao's Bao's). - Muji Market: this is a smaller location that carries a narrower assortment than your average Muji (house wares, basic apparel, accessories, kitchenware, snacks), though they have a full cafe serving coffee and matcha, simple Japanese lunch items like bowls, sandwiches and bento. Cafe prices seem a little higher probably due to the location. - gallery art: there is a small whitewashed hallway gallery of maybe a couple dozen small pieces by local artists, featuring NYC-centric photos, sketches, paintings, multi-media. Found this fun and entertaining!
