We had a terrible experience with this company. Inexperienced movers caused a lot of damage, they were very inefficient and wasted a lot of time. The owner took no responsibility for the issues and didnt compensation us. Also, they are not all firemen- its just marketing. read more

I have used the firemen movers many times over the last decade as I felt they were a somewhat professional and reliable moving company. After my last move I will never use them again. Not only was I charged an exorbitant amount of money for my move (approx. $9000 total as they had to store my belongings for two weeks) a lot of my furniture came to me broken or damaged. My vases that were all wrapped in bubble wrap and labeled fragile came back to me in pieces. Chairs were broken. Pieces to put furniture back together were missing and did not come back from the movers. My kitchen island had a hole through it. The worst part from it all was the communication with four members of their customer service team. Moving is already stressful enough as it is, but it took me three full months to get any sort of compensation. A patch work job on my island and a $50 cheque for the chair. I moved at the end of August and these two things took until the end of November to get settled. This was only because of my weekly emails asking what was going on? The repairman they sent me forgot to show up for his appointment twice (after I had to take two days off work to make sure I was home) and then when he finally came he was two hours late. They pride themselves on customer service but I have never had a company treat me this poorly for the amount of money they took from me. read more

We used these movers for my grandmother, and I would NOT recommend if you want your things to make it one piece! We had MULTIPLE boxes that were ENTIRELY broken...including antiques. I myself have moved 6 times in 2 1/2 years. My mom always packs my stuff, just as she did my grandmothers, and my dad usually packs and drives the truck. My stuff always makes it one piece..I have never had this issue, so it was not to do with the way we packed it, because if it was I would have nothing left..the movers were rough and careless and were more worried about joking around and having fun on the job. Very slow as well...considering there were 4 of them! It took HOURS!! Very poor service. read more

THE BEST MOVE OF MY LIFE! I have moved many times in the last 20 years. I've used the big guys (Allied, Tippet and Richardson etc.); I've used the little guys (Two Men and a Truck etc.) and always had one problem or another. Firemen Movers were amazing! Dave and Matt were professional, empathetic, clean cut, skilled and very easy to talk to. The move was completed in record time in the pouring rain! There is literally nothing negative I can say about this company. The gentleman who quoted, Mike, came to my house, listened to all my needs and assured me all my needs would be taken care of. They showed complete disrespect to our condo building. Despite being provided with a list of rules and a conversation with Security they ignored all processes in place. They blocked hallways and entrances with no regard to anyone else. I would not trust them with my move. read more

We were nervous about hiring a mover since we haven't had good luck with movers in the past. BUT - not only did Firemen Movers show up on time, with a full crew ready to go as promised, but they did an amazing job! They worked extremely hard on a very hot day in July, and got everything we owned moved quickly, in an hour less than we budgeted, with everything arriving in perfect condition. If you own anything worth more than $700, do NOT use this company. They broke my Saarinen marble coffee table ($3500) and offered me $120 in return. I had taken the basic insurance rate because the owner of the company did a walk through of my house and made no mention that the marble table should be crated or more highly insured. Even if I had taken their 'gold standard' insurance, I would have received $700 max. I expected a lot more from firemen; the company owner, Lorne, does their reputation a disservice. read more

We could not have been happier with Firemen; they provided outstanding service in every way. They delivered boxes ahead of time, exactly as promised, so we could do as much packing as possible ourselves. We packed over 100 boxes, so in the end they only had a few hours of packing to do (all the breakables), but they spent the rest of the time (their minimum work day is 4 hours) wrapping the furniture and staging the boxes to facilitate the actual move. The crew was polite, cheerful, and professional even at the end of the 10-hour moving day. Nothing was broken or damaged. The furniture that was dismantled (a bed, a pricey leather recliner) was expertly put back together. In addition, the final cost was much less than we feared. It's much better when the estimate is higher than the final cost, rather than the other way around. There were no hidden charges, and our crew never slacked off; they even ate lunch quickly at the old apartment rather than take a real lunch break (my husband was in the house with them the whole time). We highly recommend Firemen to anyone who is planning a move in Toronto! read more
